(2024) Get a LIVING SHIP in No Man's Sky - Easy Step By Step Guide

- In this video I'm giving a quick guide on how to get a living ship, an organic ship in No Man's Sky, and taking away some of the questions and confusion that players have.
You need the glyphs to be able to complete this mission.

KNOWN BUGS
* When collecting the Fallen Host from Starbirth initial quest, all components must be located in one's Active Inventories (Exosuit, active starship cargo within item transfer range, or freighter cargo slots with Matter Beam installed), else a mechanical ship will spawn in its place.
* If this issue persists through reloading your save;
* ►► Reset Fallen Host by travelling 4,000 light years away from the affected system.
* ►► Travel to an Alien Portal and use the glyphs provided above.
* ►► Return to the previous system through the portal once again.
* ►► Take flight and the mission 'Fallen Host' should re-trigger in the new system, fixing the problem.
* If a Living Ship spawn fails to override the mechanical ship wreck and the previous case is NOT responsible, reloading the game will correct the issue so long as the reloaded save was made PRIOR to any interaction with the wrecked mechanical ship.
* A void egg can sometimes be duplicated if you move too far from your current mission objective and restart the mission.
* Sometimes when you make the item for the monoliths, the mission can bug and think you are too far away. Restarting the mission will also cause the above bug to occur.
* Sometimes when going to obtain the living ship (whether through the mission or getting a new one) the objective can glitch and give you a normal ship instead of a living one.
* ►►It may happen after you have left the planet and returned. If this happens, try loading the last restore point after leaving the ship and it shall revert to a living ship.
* If stored on your Freighter/Starship and far enough away from it, a developing organ will duplicate once its timer runs out. An immature organ will be left in your Starship/Freighter, and you will receive the mature organ in your Exosuit inventory.
* If you are playing in Survival Mode, take as much caution as possible to avoid death if the immature organ is still in your Exosuit inventory, as your items are expunged on death.
* ►►This does not apply to your Starship's/Freighter's inventory, though the immature organ will not be replaced with the mature organ when the timer is done. Instead, you will receive a new instance of the matured organ while the immature organ permanently exists. You can keep it as a trophy as you cannot obtain it again, though not the intended way to complete Starbirth.

Near the end of the quest some dude made a bass blocking a main building to get the soul casings on some worlds, if you encounter this, find their base terminal and report them with a screen shot, it gets rid of their whole base 👍

@@taylorfee-y9g This is the way. I've checked a few videos on it. Check to see if having MP on/off makes a difference. Loading in and out of the game after reporting perhaps. Save of course😁

The easiest way toget glyphs is to do the nexus mission where you have to kill toxic plants.go to the grave plant base module (do not click on grave).go back to nexus cancel job.use portal to go back to grave and get your glyph

Man I never got a living ship, kind of want one but this looks SOOOOOOOO grindy omfg. It’s good information though thank you for making the video.
The new way is a lot less grindy than it used to be, buuut, if you don't mind getting stuck in for 1 day, you can get it all done.
As long as you follow the "speed up time" method, then it's a lot less grindy

There’s not all that much grind if you’re mid-late game; I have all the non-specific materials in my inventories already just as a consequence of other things. So long as you’re not the sort to sell all the low-value materials every time it should be fine.

I think I might have done the new method before but I forget. I thought we still had to hunt down stupid coordinates lol. I been putting off getting these on new saves but I'm totally gonna start doing this. Stil... not even remotely as fun as getting interceptors.
Yeah the new method is easier than the old one. Oh gosh that was some hard work. Indeed, the interceptors missions are quite an adventure !! ^_^
At this step of the quest, 13:00, I was given a location to go to like in the video, but I almost died so I left the planet. I came back later to no marker telling me where to go and now I have no way of finding a hypnotic eye because I have no exocraft. Is there anything I can do to get the marker back?

No not really. It's just a style of ship. I got this ship at spawn. For the video I started a new game. So RNG was nice to me.

Does resetting your PC clock back to normal (after moving it forward for the mission) ruin your save file once you finish?
In my experience it doesn't, but I did only reset back to normal after I completed the entire mission.

Hey, just a fast question. For me, the living ship was interesting, but i i just saw your "normal" ship. How did you get it? Build it yourself, found in a station o buy or what? If build yourself, what parts did you use?

The Utopia Speeder. I love that ship. It's a fighter class. This S-class version of a starship is rewarded at the completion of Expedition 9: Utopia. So when I started the new game, I just went to the Quicksilver synthesis dude and grabbed the "Expedition reward", and then I use it in the new game.
Not sure how else to get it. They do sometimes run expeditions again over Christmas time, for people to unlock the rewards. Like 1 week per expedition.
when i click on nexus there is no quicksilver mission?
The quicksilver missions are usually only weekends, for the large reward, and then sometimes random days for the smaller rewards. Just check in every day.

How do you change time 1 day forward? Literal ps4 time?
Yeah, the game uses system time to determine in-game "waiting" periods. So change the system time. Be it PS or PC.
man does this shit work after this dumb update, it literally removed the option to reset missions on PS5 😐😐
I don't know about resetting the missions, but I do know the living ship still works as expected.

okay, by now i did everything except the thing about the 16 geroglyphs, i have none of them and i have more than 100 hours, what should i do now? i played for the gamplay, not for artemis/atlas missions
Well, you can do the alternative method, which is a lot more passive.
When ever you are in a space station and you see a traveler, chat to them, they'll give you a location of a planet in that system where they died. Just go to that location and interact with the grave and you get a glyph.
You are limiting your game play by not doing the main
I agree, the Artemis missions were fun for me. Very interesting and I wrestled with some of the decisions I had to make.
At least there is another method for getting the glyphs without doing it. ^_^

I've never heard of this. Check the forums, maybe there is a bug listed there.

That might be a bug, it's the same length as if you went through a blackhole or hyper jumped.

I reset my time and I still have to wait?
On PC, I just ensured that my multiplayer was off (some has said this causes issues with the time trick), and set my day to the next day every time and worked like a charm.

@@carsonwolfe8011 My steps that have always worked for me (On PC):
Internet off - Multiplayer off - Save after timer has started - Exit game - Move ahead 1 day (Auto sync date/time off) - Restart game and the item has matured.
Rinse and repeat until I had the ship unlocked, then I switched everything back on. I was 4 days ahead of time by the end.

@@brentwazhere7311 Hey, I manually set my date +1 day every time. By the end of the project I was 4 days ahead. Then I just reset the time to auto-adjust when I was done.

Do the Anomaly missions on weekends, you get almost all the quicksilver you need.

@@Around-The-Verse Ahh, then you can do the dailies for 3 days. Think you get 350-400 quicksilver per mission. If no one has a spare egg of course ^_^
