Sikhism is the only Religion/Belief system/culture that is compatible with the modern world. If ever there was a time when Sikhism and the teachings of the gurus was needed it's now! I pray to the creator, waheguru, to give strength and influence to the Khalsa so they can inspire the world to the guru's panth! Bole so nihal......sat sri akal!

What an absolutely amazing individual that Sikh guy is. I hope John found some truth on that day, and finally learned to meditate and find his God.
Sikhism is certainly not a "cut from the old cloth" of religious faith. I can totally get why they are out there promoting awareness of their faith. I have always been fascinated by what seemed like the mystery of Sikhism. TH-cam and other media is an excellent way of communicating their very important and valid message.
There is one creator and we can all connect with him!
May the Lord Our God, Bless this Sikh brother and his family. :)

He went into wayraag in the end while talking about the guru's greatness. It is a wonderful state and nothing comes close to it as an experience. Tere kavann gun keh keh gaavan tu sahib guni nidhana. Waheguru is the greatest of the great and those who have come into his sharan are truly blessed .

As an atheist studying religions manly the monolithic messianic ones but only to debunk them, which is easy and where I don't believe Sikhism is any more real.
That said the fact women are seen as equal is massive step forward and from what I learnt so far it is the only religion that seems truly peaceful, that I respect which more then I can say for Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

I'm a Christian , but typical of my generation ( in my 30's) I do not follow as such, although this is a christian country and the ways of life and the way we are raised are of Christian values, But lately I have been thinking that I hate religion I hate all this mess in the world and I fear that although I'm part of the problem , being I do not actively practice my own religion , as in not going to church and supporting my local church and therefore churches not being filled and in danger of closing down , that other religions are here in very large numbers and are going to take over in the not too distant future, and with it come their ways of life.
Know as I said I'm an English Christian , but thinking very hard lately about my identity as a Christian , I do love my country and know that religion is its foundations, but I can not believe in something I don't think is all true, I believe religion is there as a guide for people to follow a path of good, and so I thought I could possibly be leaning more to atheism , but in the back of my mind I've always liked the Sikhs way of life and it is always there, I know that English people around me like the Sikhs more so then any other religious groups and have a respect for them. And that's why I look at this channel a lot when I feel a bit low, my point in posting is this, you inspire me , you are an absolute diamond and you make me want to be a better person ( although I am a good person already!) and please, if Christianity is falling in our beautifull country, then please let Sikhism be the religion that takes over out of all others, because quit simply, if I was not a Christian and I had to choose at the beginning , I would have chose youres, very peacefull yet has values that every decent human being should posses. And also like to say. I work in London on a daily basis, and Sikhs are a credit to their people, a very proud and respectfull people and not disgusting behaving like a lot that I see, you should be proud of yourselves and I would like more of you here! . Right, cup of tea then off to work!

Speaking as a Sikh, we would never really take over because we don't believe in missionary work. A huge tenant of our religion is religious freedom which runs in stark contrast from early Christianity and Islam (the real reason they are so numerous in numbers, they spread religion by the sword). Sikh's believe in self defense and defense of others but we are vehemently opposed to imposing our way of life on anybody, everybody should have personal choice in their beliefs. That said, we welcome anybody from any walk of life that wants to join us, but the fact that we don't preach religious superiority or that our religion is the only religion that should exist (or even the notion that you have to be Sikh to reach salvation, we honestly believe salvation goes beyond religious affiliation and is based on how you treat your fellow human beings) makes it unlikely that Sikhism will ever truly take over.

Lovepreet singh I believe a priority over that is to get Sikh youth especially, and our elders too, off drugs and alcohol and any other type if nasha. As a com, we are starring to deteriorate whether you like it or not. Compare what we are today to what we were before 1984 even. Seeing a Singh, women would feel safe, mother's would tell their children, no need to be scared, a Singh is here, he will protect you. Such respect was earned by Sikhs who gave their lives for something bigger than themselves. Now a days, we see a crime or injustice and we walk past, either we take out this plague called the cellphone and start to take a video of it, or we walk away. If we had such mentality back than where would we be today. Although I agree that your point is in order, and is fundamental, we should focus on getting everyone to do more internal things first such as getting them to do more paath, and than move on to keeping a kes and tying a dastar etc. Start with the things on the inside before more superficial things.

+yogesh85d I can see your what your saying, maybe if bhai jugraj ji elaborated on this quote you would then understand what he was trying to say. that time 300 years ago in india the mughal empire was greater than ever, they were killing all those who didnt accept islam. the hindu race at that time had weakened significantly due to not having an army to protect them. It was the army of the Sikhs, the army of the Khalsa who stepped up and protected them. what bhai jugraj ji is saying is that if the sikhs never stepped up, the mugal army would not have been defeated and de throned, and then who knows what would have happened. the hindu faith wouldnt have been killed over night, but at the rate the mugals were taking over especially ruling over india and middle east, who knows what today would be like after 300 more years of having a mugal empire. i agree maybe bhai jugraj ji can try and explore that point or explain that point but essentially thats what he means, it just during these segments time is of the essences and other more important messages can be explained like the message of equality or naam or compassion ect ect. hope this clears up any issue you had bro, stay blessed. peace x

This Sikh guy is really a good person, who needs to be commended for this service he is doing. But, I have one criticism or complaint. No offense, but, he should have let the white guy speak more, let him express himself, why budge in the middle of his speaking?

I love this video... Question- Why would you boldly claim that your system is complete and "the best," yet get offended because Christians, Muslims, Tibetans and everyone else makes the same claim?

@Pastor JC we dont get offended if anyone says their religion is the best. what is offensive is when they claim that theirs is the only way, and everyone else is wrong.
      on a seperate note -
monotheism says that god is outside of the universe (although some believe god can manifest in kings and priests)
in pantheism, god is the universe, they are one and the same.
      guru nanak merges these two. guru nanak being the C O M P L E T E T R U T H. sikhi is the C O M P L E T E T R U T H. 😀

speaking to ppl about sikkhism seems like you wish to convert them in sikkhsim....
    doesn't it?

Converting people to Sikhism is not the aim for any Sikh. A Sikh gains nothing by converting others, Sikh only gain from meditation and will of God. However, people not knowing and understanding what is Sikhism is a big issue for Sikhs. In wast many people see Sikhs as Muslims or Hindus and that creates many misunderstandings for Sikh community. I am not saying there is something wrong with being a Muslim or Hindu for a any person but it is matter of identity. This matter of identity can get stretched to matter for rights and justice. If you are not aware of the existence of something you will not be able to give it the respect or rights it deserves.
Today even after being 5th biggest religion in world most of the world does not know about Sikhism.
Also, no one can be converted to Sikhism, people has to chose it for themselves. It is not a set of rituals that make a Sikh, it is life style and an commitment. As a human we do not chose life style and commitment by talking and listening, it has to come from inside. So converting people to Sikhism can not a goal for a Sikh. Sikhism was never about number of followers that is why there are only 2% Sikh in India (and most of us are born in Sikh family). It is all about being true to Guru/God.

sikkhism is the 5th biggest religion in world?
      what's the first ones?
      christianity and islam i guess....?
      only 2% in india??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!
      this is very strange...............
but there are many sikh cults or something right?

    • @vjagpal
      @vjagpal 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Yes, since India has such a big population 2% turns out to be 5th biggest. I think so far Christianity is the 1st one. But I am not sure what you mean by Sikh cults. A person can be considered as Sikh if he/she lives life by follows the teachings of 10 Sikh gurus and see Guru Granth Sahib as spiritual leader/guide for life. Such person can further commit to Sikhi by choosing to be baptized in Sikhi and become Khalsa.

nikos t if your thinking about castes and such, than there are none. In Sikhism there is no caste system, and everyone is viewed to be equal, as Sikhism promotes complete equalitym

Gurp B If anyone is equal then after death of our material body we are all going to the same place?
      back to merge with waheguru?
Since a christian or paganist is equal to a sikh.
