    I'd like to add some more points of interest.
    1. The Pioneers sell a blueprint for a specialized scrap processing unit which produces Computronic Substrate and Silicon Carbide.
    2. If you want just one ware produced but not the other (maybe there's no demand for it currently) you can do this by manually pulling down the storage capacity down to 1 (0 is not possible).
    3. There's a way to overcome scrap shortages in the terran sectors by building a distribution chain. Build a scrap oven in a sector with lots of scrap and let the scrap metal get transported to your scrap processing facility in any other sector. Maybe you need transfer storages in-between due to a far distance. I have a scrap oven in Silent Witness near the gate to Windfall (buillt that before the DLC was released), transfer storages in Getsu Fune and Mars and a scrap processing facility at the Moon.

    Your big scrapper, Tautu (?), wouldn't move by control panel and wouldn't let you take the helm was because it was active in scrapping. Once the drones were finished with the Defense Platform you can move it/take command.
    Same thing when waiting for cargo to load at a station...won't let you sit down (if you have a captain) or undock until the trade is completed or cancelled.

    Your tugs can directly process small ships from the map (when [Manticore] tug selected, right click dead ship (doesn't appear over "wrecks") - salvage option is available), larger ships (wrecks) - I'm guessing you need the Large ship [Teuta] with drones to get those, but you can't control the drones directly. Manticore can be assigned to a station to salvage.

      @@Ratpack30 From what I've seen, the processing centers will only process a single item at a time - meaning, your tugs spend a lot of time waiting for an open slot - so if you make multiple processors, then you can drop off more stuff - at the cost of 100K/h Energy cells per processing station (so, it is quite expensive to keep multiple supplied with energy) - I have a station with 3 of these, but 12 mules suppling them - most of the time I have 4-6 mules waiting to drop off ships (at least, whenever I look at the station). Doesn't seem to matter how much scrap a ship is worth (5 scrap or 1000) - seems to take the same amount of processing time - with no "inventory buildup" available.
      Also, having multiple processing centers on the station - you have to be able to fully supply them all with energy, or no drop-off occurs (100K each) - if other modules are taking your energy cells so that the inventory drops below that 100K, then they won't start - processing scrap doesn't quite work like the other production modules where they will sit idle until supplied. These seem to sit idle whenever your energy dips below the required threshold, even though they don't pull it all at once.
      Definitely could use some fine tuning from the Devs on this one.

    • @Ratpack30
      @Ratpack30 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kentmiller9386 I have ways to go then, cause unless you only get that option to build your own stations when you buy a builder, i don't see anything that produce such. I do have the station from the quest and have set up a energy production and silicon wafer production i can't make wafers, and i do supply the station with silicon...That went outside of what i originally wrote about :P
      So i guess that to actually take advantage of scrap you need your own station or a L to XL ship to handle that?
      I love this game but at the same time it's so massive that it's really hard to get lost in the processes ^_^
      Also should mention that i've only played for like 3-4 days ingame time so my hourly income is like 1 million credits or so.
      Mainly get money from lesser mining and selling ships i take over, allthough it's hard to find anyone that will actually leave their ships. All in all, i have a TON to learn i see :)

      @kentmiller9386 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Ratpack30 yeah, when I mentioned you can assign a Manticore to a station for salvage, I was referring to your own, built station - that includes the Scrap Processing module. Once you have one of those built, you can assign the Manticore - and it will collect up dead ships in the area (and beyond) --- that Processing plant doesn't use storage --- it "is storage" for a single scrap piece dropped off by a Manticore - and it costs 100K energy cells to convert that to scrap metal that will be stored in "container storage" and processed into Hull Parts and Claytronics -- if you have the other module (Scrap recycler) to do that. --- There is also a Terran version that will give you Computronic Substrate instead of Claytronics
      You don't really ever have to by the Teuta (Large ship) - unless you want to take stations and L/XL ships apart with it for your tugs to haul off - the AI usually has a couple of these doing it already, so you can just pick up their packages and haul them to your own stations.

    • @jasonruys9229

      @@kentmiller9386 You can also assign the Tautu to station salvage but will need to select at least one tug ship as well to have the option. Also as noted above for best result I recommend having 2 stations one for Scrap Processor and one for the Scrap Recycler with a ship transporting scrap metal to the other station

    I seem to find you almost always have the best videos for this game. explainations. others assume we have basic knowledge of the how it works lol. im like if i understood the basics i wouldnt be watching a video on how it works lol...... so i feel they miss out on identifying their potential audience for certain videos.
    where as you assume ur talking to a person who never seen anything but the game before. This video fully explained everything i wanted to know about this.
    i wish u had more views. this games been a hidden gem. but i see from videos the devs really worked on it too with many quality of life updates. i doubt i would of liked this game till last year or so.

  • @jasonruys9229
    @jasonruys9229 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What I recommend for most efficient is to have your scrap refinery and your scrap processing as to separate station with a mining ship transporting scrap metal. This is because the energy require for each step can slow down process and can eg. 2000 EC for raw scrap to scrap metal then 2000 EC for metals to wares.
