As a discerning enthusiast of fine model train packaging, I would like to see die-cast metal packaging for future Dapol 1:1 reproductions. Die-cast metal packaging, of course, is more durable and displays much better than common-or-garden-variety plastic packaging. Looking forward to your future ventures in that vein.

I really like how they put invisible paint on one front buffer and visible paint on the other. My great-great grandfather drove one of these things on Mars the 1960s and this is a feature he always noticed. "You'd almost think it wasn't even there," he used to say. Unfortunately, his train crashed at one point which eventually led to the withdrawal of steam from his layout.

So I ordered half a dozen, for this magnificent model will sure double in price over the next few days and as you rightfully stated the protection foam alone will compensate for the little pocket money invested when sold at eebai. I need to confess that my wife is ever so exited too and she made room in her show-of cabinet of extremis rarities to impress our vip guests. Behind glass of course and 'not to touch' ! So we both need to express our sincere recognition and deepest gratitude for this marvelous detailed video review of this ones in a lifetime model Mogul in that so beautiful realistic satin gloss perfect paint. 2:48 I'm glad he remembered to properly do the all-important lick and sniff tests. Far too often have I bought a model only to discover that it tastes and smells nothing like the prototype.
Too think, this is all we had back 50 years ago, built many for customers, Kay's kit,s which never get finished by the unserspecting person...!! so I was called in to somehow finish the model, some actually ran, when finished, but it was a long shot...and a great deal of blood, sweat and tears...lol
can we just pay respect to the martin mart martinson company? this model is brilliantly detailed and this is good for their first steam trainomotengine and the black driving wheels look very sharp with the great western red! you are very lucky to have got a model of such fine quality!
