    Question: How to upgrade my Express to do 35mph plus. Just replace the head and exhaust?

      new performance exhaust will get you close and you may need to put a slightly bigger main jet in carburetor.

    Old video, but wondering if you’re still using this shim? Do you find this less effective than simply porting the exhaust? It seems to accomplish the same in the end, but the shim method seems to open the transfer ports more. Any thoughts on the difference between the two?

      I did the shim in combination with porting but the great thing is that you don’t have to do them in combination. The shim and removing a similar amount of material from the top of the cylinder is probably the easiest mod you can do as long as you run it with a performance exhaust. The shim affects all the ports as well.

      @@jackrutherford-1 thanks! I have 2 that I want to modify. I’m going to shim one and port the other. Have a people’s pipe on both. Then back to re-jetting! How does the shim method affect low end with a stock carb? It’s already suffering from the performance pipe. Will it worsen? Afraid of being a “sitting duck” as you call it.. 😂

    Hello sir hope you're doing well, I just bought a 81 Honda express nc50. Good videos by the way, I'd like to know if I could adapt an urban express chrome fender to mine. And is it possible to adapt 16 inch wheels, thank you for the videos and stay well.

    Hey so I got it running.. I put the original coil back on the stator and bam it started right up but it probably won’t last but I sold it while it was running. But I told him the stator was bad and needed to be replaced. Least I got to ride it!! Lol

    is there a way to use a 12v system on a 81 nc50?

    • @jackrutherford-1
      @jackrutherford-1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure. you can find a 6v to 12v step up converter and use that. And then swap your bulbs, battery, and other components for 12v ones.

      spacer opens up almost all the way all the ports so it is the easiest porting you could do and some of the best. Like pearls before swine.
