  • Here, I throw together some parts we have around the shop, to demonstrate the installation of a bore kit on a honda scooter. This theory/process will be 99% the same on all your 2 stroke scooters, vespa, piaggio chinese, honda piaggio etc. The key things to remember here are
    DONT BEND YOUR C CLIPS
    DONT FORCE YOUR CYLINDER OVER YOUR PISTON
    USE PROPER SEALANT NOT RTV
    TAKE YOUR TIME
    BUY YOUR PARTS FROM A SHOP WHO OFFER FIRST HAND BASED SERVICE/SUPPORT

    Hello. I have a question that is seems like nobody asking this. I bought a 70cc 2t kit from dr racing. The problem is with the small end bearing. It has so much space to play between piston bosses. It is a 12x17x13 size,13mm wide bearing. It looks like about a 25% of is out of his space if i drag it to the left or right. Is this ok? Should i buy a wider bearing like 15mm? The bearing came with the crankshaft.

    Installed a Malossi 70cc bbk. Piston seems very sticky in cylinder when I manually turn the crank. I did pre-lube the cylinder. Rings did line up to notch before assembly. Do I need to hone a new cylinder? Piston seems too tight. Thoughts? The kit is a Malossi 70cc Cylinder Kit w/CDI for Aprilia Scarabeo Di-tech (3112054)

      On a 4 stroke you have to make sure you set it at tdc. Two stroke it doesn’t matter as there’s no valves or timing chain

    Does the crank have to be 45mm when installing 70cc? Or does that only apply to 80cc and up?

    • @Scooterswapshop
      @Scooterswapshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Longer rod doesn’t change the stroke or cc.

    • @ToxicLion
      @ToxicLion 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Scooterswapshop oh okay! I’ve just seen different shops selling 80cc + cylinder kits and recommending a 45mm crank rod instead of a 43mm etc. Does it really make any difference?

    • @williamjohansen2603
      @williamjohansen2603 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ToxicLion Sorry for answering 11 months later, but yeah it does indeed make a difference. When you have a longer rod on your crank it creates more compression during the stroke. This is obviously good for bigger cylinder kits.

    so I got a 2008 kymco super 8 50cc 2t... I bought a Naraku 70cc bore kit. it only came with the cylinder part with the exhaust port and the guy had to swap out the 10mm piston pin and piston with a 12mm piston pin and piston. it also came with gaskets and piston rings... I swapped it over and got the rings on and cylinder sleeve on and lubed it up and torqued down. I didn't get to upjet it yet cause improper thread size for the jet I bought to go with it.. and the exhaust won't fit due to the exhaust port is slighted so I have no exhaust on it. I crunk it up and let it warm up and then turned it off. I also got a aftermarket air intake too. it will crank and run but when I accelerate it hardly will move at all. can you tell me the areas I can work thru to get the issue fixed? please and thank you

    • @jimccc9467
      @jimccc9467 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You would use soft solder near the outer rim of piston, turn engine over by hand so it compresses solder then measure. You can use a bit of grease to hold solder in place. You can also sneak in through the spark plug hole and feel the edge of cylinder and do it that way. I realize this is months old but perhaps someone else will have same question.

    • @Tizzypj
      @Tizzypj 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jim CCC when having a bike with a 70cc bore and a sports exhaust will I need a bigger carb as it runs but will not Rev up

    • @jimccc9467
      @jimccc9467 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Tizzypj , honestly my experience with these scooters is quite limited, I recently picked up a 2009 Ditech that had seized and I’m making it a 70. My actual experience is 250cc 2 stroke Grand Prix motorcycles. Have you increased the jet sizes in your current carb? I know they do need more fuel-bigger mouth to feed and all. Racing planet has a section on their website you can ask questions and they have been very responsive. Where did you buy your kit? You should pay close attention to your spark plug and how it looks to determine if it’s too lean, bad things will happen if you run it that way. Perhaps find a good video on two stroke spark plug reading and then do a proper wide open plug chop and reading and jet from there. Hope that gives you a direction. Best of luck.

And have a better look at things others do for free to help? Maybe say hey can you guys do a video on this.... Instead you are complaining about our "fluff"and free content. So just maybe this isn't the channel to watch? As we put "FLUFF" in every video for comedic relief. We love what we do, we do it for fun and to help people. But no need to help people that have poor attitudes. Next time before you make a comment stop breathe and think, then type.
