Bought mine back in 2014. I've had any number of Canon DSLRs (up to 5D4) and Fuji X series. They've all been superseded, but I still have my trusty G16.
Yeah, the G16 is still a great little camera that is still reliable. Thank you so much for watching as well as for sharing your experience, very much appreciated it. I wish you a great time, stay safe and have fun shooting! 😊😊
The G16 is an awesome camera when it comes to flash photography. Attach a transmitter on it and a receiver on the flash and shoot. You will be blown away how great the photos will be out the camera😃👍
I've had several G series with the articulating screen. Hated the extra bulk. Now I have a G15 and it feels GREAT in the hand. Solid as a rock and works wonderfully
I have 2 G16's due to my motorcycle travels. Able to get the camera out of the tank bag, turn it on, point and shoot , and return it to the tankbag while on the move and not taking you eyes off the road or hand off the throttle. Have done 1000's of pictures with them.
You forgot to mention that this camera has an ND filter options for shooting low shutter speeds during day light and is not a digital gimmick ...it's an actual ND that clicks in front of the sensor .
When I bought my G15,I bought it because I wanted this line model WITHOUT the flip out screen. I had the G11and G12...too bulky for me. G15 was like Ahhhhhhhh in the hand.
The Powershot S and G series are quite confusing: adding/removing features like articulating screens, wifi, gps, raw format etc. Sometimes opting for a newer model in the lineup, removes a feature that can be important for you. Need raw: stay away from the G7. Need GPS, S100 is your only option.
Hi David! Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, could you help me choose between the G1X mk1 vs the G16? I’m looking for a camera that could substitute my A6000 with the 27mm 2.8 lens, and I’m looking for a advanced compact camera. The bigger sensor in the G1X is really a game changer? Or the better lens in the g16 tie the game? Thanks again and cheers from Brazil!
You may have already figured out something by now. But if I remember correctly, the a6000 has a 24mp sensor. The g1x only has 14mp and the g16 only has 12mp. Though there may be a few minor differences in some added features, there’s a lot in favor of the a6000. I’d almost recommend going up the a6000 series since you’ll be able to use the same lenses and general user experience. Though these do seem like fun little art cameras. They have went up in price from 100 euro ($110 US dollar) more like 230$ US witch is a bit much.
Could you do a video with all the G series you have not the X ones etc. Just bought a G16 had a G15 before and was on my way to buy a G11. So just want to know the difference between them. Great regards Emil
I just got this camera because my Ricoh GR has too much dust on sensor. If you shoot RAW w proper exposure its really nice, Just don't go above 800 ISO. But I disagree w you about the articulating screen. I never needed it w Ricoh GR and I prefer to have the small lightweight aspects of Canon G16
Congratulations on getting the camera, I am sure you’ve produced really nice results with it. :-) Thank you for watching and also for sharing your thoughts and experience as well, really appreciated it. ☺️ Regarding the articulating screen, I think it really depends on how the user really use it. I think at the end of the day, I personally might not need the fully articulating screen but it would be nice to at least have the tilting screen for shooting at waist level. I personally like to shoot at waist level and having a tilting screen would help me out a lot in getting a waist level shot as level as possible in a short amount of time. ☺️ I also agree with the ISO, actually you’d already start to see noise at ISO 400 but it also adds a nice character to the image I find. ☺️ If use properly, the ISO noisy look can really give a nice character and feel to the image. ☺️ Thank you so much again for watching and also for sharing your opinion and experience, really appreciated it. I wish you a good time, stay safe and have fun shooting ☺️☺️📸
The articulating screen is the worst feature imo due to its failure rate after years of usage. I would rather it had the screen that the G3X had that folded out.
I really appreciate your review videos om these cameras. But you really need to try and take the word "actually" out of your vocabulary for a while. It "actually" begins to drive me a little crazy and I end up not wanting to watch your videos anymore, and I would much more prefer to watch your videos! It must be a comfort word for you and I hope you're able to work on that and not rely on it anymore because I can guarantee it will take away from your videos and potential views as well. Which will be a shame because you do a good job on these videos
I am very sorry that you don't like the content, I will do my best to improve my future contents for sure. I personally find it quite hard to always cover most of the video with B-rolls actually so 40% of the ergonomics/usability sections ends but being the b-rolls, 75% - 80% of the image quality sections are sample images and sample footage and 45% of the conclusion are the b-rolls. But I will try to improve my future contents for sure. Thank you very much for watching, I wish you a great time, stay safe and have fun shooting. :-)

Have you ever tried using MicroSD Card with an Adapter for G16? Do they work?
@@andre785 Yes it does!

This camera was great. The LAST great G series from the G1 to G16. I have had about 80% of them over the years. Loved this camera.
I bought g10 a few days ago. I love it and am considering getting another G. Which one would you recommend among G11-G16?
is g16 the best of all this series?
I think I just found what I want to buy. I was woried about it beeing old, but the manual control seems just epic.
Still got mine and mostly use it for street photography, awesome in monochrome mode!!
I bought it to my 9 years old son last year. He really loves it and occasionally I use it too....

My favorite camera!

nice, looks a bit like my Nikon Coolpix P7100, one of my favorite Nikon compact cameras

He does actually spend some time on the ND filter. Good option on these cameras.
@@chopinho65 really? On this video ? I guess I totally missed it. Do you have the time stamp in regards the ND filter?

Tbh rather get this than the Ricoh. Thanks for this!
I had a G15 which sadly got stolen. Great cameras.
I love my G16 which is still like new. It is my go to compact camera. My brother saw video from it and thought it was 4K.
Have you ever tried using MicroSD Card with an Adapter for G16? Do they work?
@@andre785I don't do that with mine but I don't see why it would be a problem. I never had a problem using a micro sd card with a adapter before.
Hope you'll get to try out the PowerShot G1X and G3X. Those are nice as well~
you've convinced me I'm about to buy one. I already have the canon g1 but I'm fed up with her and now I need something that excites me ahhahah

Buen video , tengo una g9 y acabo de comprar una g16.En España es extraño verlas por debajo de los 200 dólares.

Which better for video? G16 or g1x? They are about the same price
Hello can anyone advise how would this camera fit as a street photography camera?
Thanks
Which better with canon g1x?
dose it have a clean hdmi output ?
Sony a5000 or this camera?

I wonder how many times he says, "This camera" or just "Camera." It's driving me nuts.
So he should call it a plane, bus, etc? 🙄
You kinda remind me of Kermit the frog at times
