Anything free is my favorite art supply. I have found even the least expensive product challenges me to find a place for it in some art. If anything, the less expensive products offer more of a freedom to practice and explore color combinations. Without experiencing the less expensive side of supplies one cannot truly appreciate the shear thrill and sensual nature of the more dearly priced products. Receiving free products is more than a gift. It is a step into that which is not yet created. Thank you again Shayda. I find your videos more than inspiring. They are so well done. Instructions are clear and the joy with which you deliver the information makes painting so fun.

Def the supplies I like are these cool watercolor shades and palettes and those pens that you can use to make stars and various designs on watercolor. I'm a Canson user too, so far I need a heavier g/m since I'm also into landscapes and trees. 😉

Hi! If you dilute acrylics on water they can look a lot like watercolors. They just tend to be a little more saturated but if you wanna get used to the flowyness and sheerness of watercolors, they're a good practice. P.S: the acrylics I have are the tube ones, I'm not really sure if the more thin acrylics can have the same effect. I just pour a little bit of paint on my palette and take a wet brush to activate it, just like a regular watercolor. Have fun with it!

I am currently in love with my watercolours. I love the flow of them and how beautifully the blend. Most of all I love how they are so unpredictable and the final product is not always exactly how you put it down but dries they way it wants. I am really painting for the first time and loving it. I had STAYED away from watercolors after being told by many artists the medium was just too difficult! I am finding it so much fun and the other mediums just didn't do it for me; I find this so relaxing and love everything I do (well, almost) To finally feel creative (I am 72) is the best gift I could give myself. My favorite art supply is usually whatever I am working with. I do such a vast array of art using many different mediums eg watercolor, quilting, weaving, metalwork and so on.
I don't have many favourite art supplies but I enjoy working with thin gel pens and different kinds of Steadler pencils including the mechanical pencil. From watching your videos, I really loved the papers that you use from Canson and the Koi watercolour set very much. Thank you for the inspiration, you're a wonderful teacher.
I think that my favourite art supply is either watercolours or gouache. It always blows me how amazing the paintings made with them are! They are like living fairy-tales. Watercolours is a kiss on the forehead, a light breeze, a twilight overflowed with the scent of night violets, gentle touching someone's cheek with the fingertips before kissing it. And gouache is august sky, tanned skin, olive trees, closing the window nerviously before thunderstorm, contrast shadown in the golden hour. They both are magical in their own ways, and so the work and working with them. That's why I love them so much ❤🌠 P.S. Your tutorial and art style are breathtaking!

These are lovely paintings. My favorite art supply is bamboo paint brushes. They're wonderful sloshy brushes that really soak up and lay down a lot of watercolor paint, yet you can twist them to a fine tip at the end and almost draw fine line. Love these brushes.
My favorite art supply is watercolors. Whenever I feel like painting something, but not pulling out all the acrylic paints, I can quickly grab the watercolor pan and some water and start. I also love the versatility of watercolors. You can do almost anything with them. I really like the florals you did. I will have to try them soon.

Me too...always was intimidated by watercolors....but I put the micro pens to the task and what a difference....I would never be a painter....but this technique has freed me up. Still a little tight in my technique....so I am going to loosen up using the tips on your videos...thanks! So my little tin of watercolors and my micro pens are my faves! Hours of good clean fun....
I have a watercolor on the go compact kit which I just love. You can fill the back of the brushes with water and paint anywhere. It’s small and compact and has everything I need except the paper.

love the loose coloring. brushlettering is my favorite in combination with backgrounds and making flowers to complete. I use different things for coloring, stamping inkt, waterpaints and colorbrushpens

my favorite are good old watercolors! i actually really didn't like them at first because of the looseness and lack of control but i came to love them through taking a beginner's class at school!
Always loved watercolors but intimidated- I am dipping into them now and really enjoying. I love detail work so pen and ink, Calligraphy quills and markers have been my favorites.

I think that my favourite art supply is either watercolours or gouache. It always blows me how amazing the paintings made with them are! They are like living fairy-tales. Watercolours is a kiss on the forehead, a light breeze, a twilight overflowed with the scent of night violets, gentle touching someone's cheek with the fingertips before kissing it. And gouache is august sky, tanned skin, olive trees, closing the window nerviously before thunderstorm, contrast shadown in the golden hour. They both are magical in their own ways, and so the work and working with them. That's why I love them so much ❤🌠 P.S. Your tutorial and art style are breathtaking!
I've recently started painting with watercolors and they are my favorite. You can either be carefree with them or detailed it's all in what you want to do.

A combination of the two is simply too delicious. I’ve been using these tutorials to learn myself and share with my daughter too. Please let these instructive videos continue. My favorite watercolor supplies are Arches cold press paper and my Cotman paints. I am just learning or I am a very green beginner. I appreciate Shayda and her easy to follow instructions.

These are lovely paintings. My favorite art supply is bamboo paint brushes. They're wonderful sloshy brushes that really soak up and lay down a lot of watercolor paint, yet you can twist them to a fine tip at the end and almost draw fine line. Love these brushes.

My favorite art supply is watercolors. Whenever I feel like painting something, but not pulling out all the acrylic paints, I can quickly grab the watercolor pan and some water and start. I also love the versatility of watercolors. You can do almost anything with them. I really like the florals you did. I will have to try them soon.

First of all, I love your style and how you take your time to arrange your table with creative accents, like the scissors you used to cut your stem flowers, or your teacups, maps and little things that inspire you. BeautifulI ideas! Regarding art supplies I enjoy... I also love Tombow pens because they are water soluble and can be blended to create new colors and in watercolor paintings which I just started learning. Thank you for your beginner tutorials!

Lovely stuff here that helps a beginning watercolor painter like me feel less intimidated by it all. I do a lot of collage, so my favorite supply is washi--you can add a hint of color to bring balance to a page with one little piece.

Me too...always was intimidated by watercolors....but I put the micro pens to the task and what a difference....I would never be a painter....but this technique has freed me up. Still a little tight in my technique....so I am going to loosen up using the tips on your videos...thanks! So my little tin of watercolors and my micro pens are my faves! Hours of good clean fun....

I have a watercolor on the go compact kit which I just love. You can fill the back of the brushes with water and paint anywhere. It’s small and compact and has everything I need except the paper.

love the loose coloring. brushlettering is my favorite in combination with backgrounds and making flowers to complete. I use different things for coloring, stamping inkt, waterpaints and colorbrushpens
