If you like the Cotman paints you will love the Shinhan Professional Watercolors. Amazon sells the 30 tube set for $26 (7 ml tubes) and it is recommended by several painters as being the best "student" grade paint. I adore using these paints and best of all, I will actually use them rather than hoarding them due to the expense.
Hi am new to your channel but I did find this very helpful, as I am trying to learn to loosen up in my artwork. I am newer to watercolors as a kid I started in oils, so big change since I did not want the big clean up but now I will try some water mixable oils too to see how that is. Love the look of watercolors so am striving to get better at it. Thanks for you help I will practice this and see what I get.
Have always appreciated you using your Koi set to produce beautiful artwork. It encourages those of us who may not use more expensive paints. Yet we know how good paints do wonders too. So plz don’t stop using your Koi set. Use both! 😊

Months ago i bought a 45 pcs W&N watercolpr block set and i regretted it, I lost my will to learn watercoloring so I just let it sit in my drawer for 6+ months, but I think I'll try doing some leaves today because your tutorial looked beautiful and relaxing. I Love Windsor/Newton, I also love the Koi & Grumbacher..... Paper I like Strathmore, But Canson is awesome.. I tryed Arches & I need a lot more practice on that paper.... I am a Grumbacher instructor at Michaels

I'm new here so I'm sorry if you've been asked already/ Have you ever done multi colored leaves for fall for instance, like reds, oranges, yellows? If not, could you possibly do a tutorial on one. I live in NH where we get all four seasons, and fall is probably my most favorite time of the year because of the changing of leaves. Amazing and beautiful piece here!
I just went and bought supplies brushes pallet watercolor paints the whole 9 yards. And then I sit down and I see this about a different watercolors. But I guess I will just start rom where I’m at. 😀at. You have inspired me to try watercolors. You make it look so effortlessly and your work always turns out so beautiful. But I’m still interested in your unique grip of the paintbrush. Does that keep you from controlling the watercolor? And let it flow better or is that just the way you’re used to holding your brush?

Speaking of supplies, do you prepare your palette in any way? I see some people scrub the white plastic palettes for better pooling when mixing?
