We visited Paris a couple weeks ago and attended mass on New Years day. Thomas played a bit afterwards. We really appreciated the service, the beautiful church, and the organ playing. Thank you for a great experience.
The highest praise to Thomas for this supreme rendition. The manifold possibilities of this organ are used in a splendid way. Such a lot of work it must be to prepare all these different registrations! The result is a masterly performance of extraordinary beauty. Highest compliments!
You all probably dont give a shit but does anybody know a tool to get back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot my account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Tanner Jagger Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Bravo, bravo!
MERCI !
I remember while I was on holiday in Paris last year that I visited the organs of St Eustache and St Sulpice, played at the time by Baptiste-Florian and (I think) Daniel Roth respectively. I stayed for the music before and after the St Sulpice mass, and attended Baptiste-Florian's concert in the evening. It was the first time I had heard either organ with my own ears and they sounded even better than I could've imagined.
Wow, I'm speechless! You would need a really good orchestra with an outstanding woodwind section to compete with this combination of organist & organ! A big thank you, Thomas!
I can’t decide which I like more…listening to you play or watching you play! The passion is everywhere when you are on the bench. There’s a young organist at my church in Arizona who plays with the same passion. I wish I could send him to you for some master classes! He’s really good but you’d make him great!
I fell in love with Ravel seven, perhaps eight, months ago, when I discovered "Pavane pour une infante defunte." Since then, Ravel has weaved his way into my life, my heart, my mind, in inexorable ways. He's become a permanent resident of my skull. It's rather strange how an accident, even a small one like stumbling on a piece in an antiquated style, can change one's outlook, one's future. Ravel and his older contemporary, Debussy, have utterly convinced me that writing music is my calling. I want to be that person, the one who somehow activates long-forgotten memories and the strongest emotions through what seems to be the most simplistic acoustic means. Some say Ravel's work is devoid of emotion. I say, "You haven't looked long enough. Once you have, your heart will melt." This suite deserves a place as one of the most beautiful, evocative, strange, emotional sequences of noises ever to exist. The organ, via its organist, truly does it more than justice. Thank you, Mr. Ospital. We don't deserve this.
Wow, wow, wow! Amazing registration and timbers. What a previlege to be able to play on that awesome organ! I think I'm gonna be a huge fan of yours. Merci pour votre belle interprétation^^
Congratulations for the impressive and precice performance. You manage very well to transfer the orchestra atmosphere and timing on the beautiful organ instrument. I love organist who have a true pulse.
Amazing! The organ of Saint Eustache has very nice colors and solo stops. Very interesting to hear Ravel on that organ. It definetely creates the magic atmosphare like the orchestra version!
Hendrik Schall the problem of this transcription is that it has been thought for that organ. As you say there are some fabulous colours on it witch are quite complicated to find in other place
Courtoisement ...Michel OOOO

Que c’est beau!... Ravel doit être ravi lui aussi!
I could listen to you play for hours, and I do thanks to these videos. I enjoyed listening to your predecessor Jean Guillou as well, though I didn't always agree with his interpretations ;
Magnifique transcription bravo Thomas !
Merci and highest praise, dear Thomas! This is quite well done! I have made a transcription for the second movement myself, but yours far exceeds mine!
This works extremely well...! MUCH better then Mahler Symphonies or The Liszt piano sonata... goodness...! AND the playing is SOO beautiful... just wonderful!
This is pure magic! You write this amazing transcription, conferring an entire orchestra onto an organ, THEN play it all from memory? That requires super-human capabilities! Thank you for all the work, the performance, excellent video and sound! (from Canada) see the orchestral version here: th-cam.com/video/b4tMATIRHH0/w-d-xo.html for comparison
@Thomas Opital, we would like to play your transcription for our weeding (IV. Les entretiens + V. Le jardin féerique), where can we find the partitions please so as to give them to our organist please? Thank you so much ++ :)
This is very nice, much better appropriate than that group maddive, of course that was a roman catholic church and they invented their own version of their gospel.
Dear Thomas; Thank you so much for these transcriptions. Although I've played a transcription of Ravel's "Pavane" for years on the organ. I always think I'm missing something in the works of both Ravel and Satie (not Debussey) by not understanding the subtle nature hidden within the French language itself. Might this be true?
Absolutely gorgeous..... it is a beauty beyond words.......
My favourite Organist. A true professional. So much passion. Thanks Thomas!
Wow.. You really know how to create a cosmic experience.. Thank You!!

I have listened to this three times already and I can't stop listening. Bravo!
I know. It's really pretty isn't it
Maravilhoso!!! Parabéns e Muito Obrigado.
Sublime.
(A Trinite' Catredal/Cleveland).
I have always regretted that Ravel never composed for the organ, but this splendid transcription does fill the void in a miraclous way. I love it!

I absoloutely love your interpretation of this wonderful piece! Thank you so much for playing!
He didn't compose it, you see?
A wonderful set of transcriptions, beautifully played on a truly great instrument. Thank you

Perfect! Amazing transcription!
Wow! Just, plain, Wow.
This is so beautiful! I wish you would come to Seattle and play at our Flentrop and Wurlitzers.
Really ?? Are you kidding ? He's due to come to Houston TX soon. Not an obscure north west poor dunk
This is such a good transcription, it might as well be the authoritative one.
Cela me rappelle mes premières années au conservatoire de Bayonne justement !
C’est donc un excellent souvenir !
Merci !
formidable Thomas

Superb in every way, as always. So good to hear your creative registrations on this incredible instrument. Thank you :)
Marvelous! I've not often seen glissando's being used in a way that's actually tasteful like here! Bravo!
Merci, bonne continuation.
Un mélomane.
Great transcription and interpretation, thank you

Bravo !
Damián Weisz Je souhaite publier cette partition prochainement.
@@ThomasOspital Merci, cher Thomas. Je suis organiste en Uruguay. Je vous envoie mes amitiés.
Excellent!
