I've been looking at various projects as a silent spectator for some time now. What makes me happy here is the fact that not everything is smeared with epoxy, but rather the natural grain of the respective wood, including knots or cracks, can speak for itself.
I agree, same here. I'm really a fan of the choice of wood u use and as complex as your pieces , you still can spin a solid beauty of a log to amplify nnatures beauty 🤩😄👍
Love seeing the process and the final piece, and that knot is beautiful. Some may call it a flaw but all I see is character, thanks for showcasing it rather than trying to mask it.
Every piece you make is a ONE OF A KIND and has rather unique attributes. Very pleasing to watch the pieces take the form&function from a log or lumber
I was very impressed by the craftsman’s knowledge of avoiding going too far with the internal bore. That’s a result of years of experience. Bravo. It’s gorgeous.
You are a true artist as well as a craftsman. The shape of this vase is gorgeous! As always, a great video of the creation of a beautiful piece. I love that you don't coat everything in super glossy finishes.
Bonjour Olivier. Encore une superbe vidéo et réalisation. Bravo. Pouvez-vous nous parlez du système d'aspiration que vous avez installé. Grand merci. A bientôt
Another excellent project! I’m interested in learning French, & I also enjoy your videos, & would like to learn more about the tools, supports & techniques you use & demonstrate. Since you have a good voice for understanding words clearly, I was wondering if you’d be willing to dub your videos so we can learn French & word turning simultaneously?😉
The beginning phase seems very brutal. I do hope you aren't setting yourself up for a repetitive strain injury in a few year's time. It happened to me just typing on a keyboard, let alone absorbing shocks from an enormous chunk of wood spinning at high speed. Magnificent work anyway.
New subscriber. How did you manage at such a young age to have an abundance of talent, experience and a beautiful shop? Your equipment appears new and first class.
Outstanding work nice to see you doing something that's not segmented would like to know the filler you used Just must say beautiful craftsmanship Regards Jamie
Question !
Gorgeous piece! ❤ You’re a brave man though, standing next to that big a chunk of lumpy, slightly imbalanced rapidly spinning wood 😬 I don’t watch many wood turning videos, so had never seen a huge steady rest like you used for the end bore before. It looked very sturdy and worked well, is it standard equipment from the lathe manufacturer? Beautiful project, it makes me want to dust off the little Craftsman wood lathe I used to turn bowls on in my parents’ basement 😁
When the oil goes on and brings out the grain of the wood - always a beautiful moment!

Such a thing of beauty, your many hours of practice have created a craftsman of high caliber. Thank you so much for sharing.

Pear really creates beautiful pieces. With your design they are even better

Watching a master like you at work is mesmerizing.

Beautiful piece Olivier.
Simply beautiful!
This is great, but I'd love to see this sort of video at normal speed over 30 minutes or so. Would be so relaxing!
Beautiful figuring in that wood - must have been so satisfying to create.

Magnificent work anyway.

What a lovely piece. I've never seen that wheeled attachment for a lathe before, that's really cool!
They call it a steady rest in metal lathes.

pas facile à attaquer mais comme toujours avec les défauts du bois (la loupe, les nœuds etc...) le résultat est top
