Mehrunes Dagon: "Tell me underlings, how is the invasion of Black Marsh commencing?" Some Dremora general sweating profusely: "The defense of Oblivion is going _reasonably_ well. My Lord." Mehrunes Dagon: "The WHAT?"
Imagine the terror when Daedric captains not deployed through the gate watched the remains of their comrades scramble back through the portal followed by an army of half-mad Argonians ready to put the fear of the Hist in the godless Daedra.
Dagoth Ur: Come Nerevar, friend or traitor, come. Come and look upon the... Oh I'm sorry I didn't realise you were an Argonian -- no no it's not a problem I had just expected a Dark Elf. They’re jawsome, wish their perks were more improved for the better in Elder Scrolls online, just mostly good for ranking which gets boring and healing sadly. Nothing for hands on combat or cool apothecary spells.
You've mentioned Mere-Glim. Does that mean a/some video(s) about Umbriel is coming out? The Infernal City and Lord of Souls are such good books and deserve a proper video essay.
Just discovered your chanel and love the elder scrolls lore. Hope for more soon! (Also heroes and generals brought me here - keep up the great work on both channels)
Love the argonians I would love to hear about the redguards I feel as they were also very proficient in fighting the dedrea my only proof of this is an unmarked quest in skyrim. You have to find the missing student's rings and go into the midden, find the deadric gauntlet place the rings and you're faced with a deadeic lord who is dressed in redguard clothes if a deadra is immulating their fighting style and clothing they must have a reason for this weather that's a testament to their fighting prowess or their overall ruthlessness is debatable, you could even say it means nothing but I always felt like it was a deadra immulating the redguards which seems telling to me could be reading too much into a random small detail tho
Black Marsh is a bit like Dorne is to GRR Martin's Westeros. The Iron Throne had never conquered Dorne, but was incorporated into the Seven Kingdoms by diplomacy. Black Marsh resisted human invasions several times, but became part of Tiber Septim's empire by diplomacy.
If this is the Wizards and Warriors channel, are there any plans to tell the tale of the knight warrior Kuros and his battles against the dread mad wizard Malkil?
Definitely strange how the Argonians get raided and struggle against the Dark Elves until the Hist trees were threatened. Argonians got a massive buff from the Hist trees who really don’t care about the Argonian individuals lives, possibly due to rebirth.
Basically the hist don't care unless they themselves are threatened. Like if the dunmer planned to burned them down then the dunmer are going to get the oblivion treatment
Ahhh video games. Where a flu with a 100% mortality rate is somehow able to spread to the whole continent. Thank goodness it doesn’t work that way or Ebola would have Thanos’d us.
A very nice video as always but the Hist arent older than the Aedra and Daedra , because the Aedra made Mundus where the Hist evolved Edit: one theory states that some of the et’Ada that didn’t become the Aedra but rather consumed theirselves whole during the creation , because not only the Aedra but some lesser et’Ada participated, get down on Nirn and kind of bound themselves whole to the new created world becoming part of the Earthbones like Y’ffre the Wood God of the Wood Elves become one of the Earthbones , they become a part of Mundus itself to stabilize it, while the Aedra stabilize it and bound themselves metaphysically through the Universe to Mundus and shield the Mundus from Oblivion because though they can’t interact that directly as the Daedric Gods can because the Aedra need a sacrifice for example to interact directly , they did not vanished or become Earthbones because they didn’t consumed themselves whole but rather a portion of their godly power , this is due to the fact some et’Ada the original godly spirits were bigger and more powerful than others , the smaller and weaker ones that consumed themselves completely during creation vanished another part became the Earthbones and some of these Earthbones became also mortal creatures like the Hist that are able to die and others metaphysical Earthbones like the Wood God Y’ffre.
Umbrial gems exist in the game dont they? Or is that something else im thinking of? Whaf does umbrial even mean lol.... i guess i gotta google some stuff
apparently its mentioned in Skyrim somewhere, with its 2 actual appearances being in 2 novels though the reason why it isn't really known about is because in universe for the most part its within its own bubble in oblivion where the hist originated from, until its first appearance in Tamriel 49 years after the oblivion crisis
Imagine all your high and mighty people. All their great gods and vile devils. And yet aside from all that are these reptiles who were made by trees, entirely apart from everyone else in their lack of any divinity.
I got to see a lot a da countryside in 'ouse Dres. We wah always lookin fo dis lizard named Charlie. It wasn't always fun. (15:40) Part of me kind of hopes the story of the Kharhaten Flu annihilating any peoples besides the argonians was overstated. Seems kinda lame to wipe out all the non argonians in one region.
It's up in the air. We know very little of them besides just a couple Imperial scholar entries that hypothesize that the Knahaten Flu wiped them out. It's just as possible that the remaining few spared by the Flu retreated deep into the swamps, and that's why they're never seen or known to be alive. It's a similar story to the Ayleids that retreated to Valenwood. There very well may be a few small pockets of unintegrated Ayleids in the deep forests of Valenwood. Tamriel is a huge place.
in Windhelm the argonians are kept at the docks because of het dunmer refugees, not because of the nords. it was something that the dunmer and argonians would masacre each other.
How can the Hist have existed before the Aedra and Daedra when the world itself didn't exist until the Aedra created Nirn?! So were these trees just floating through space before Nirn was created so they could take roots on it? How can an Argonian who is born away from Black Marsh become a real person if they never ingest the sap of the Hist?
The Aedra didn't create Nirn. Nirn was formed from the original 12 worlds by Anu. Anu and Padomay (Sithis) are the two primordial gods. Anu merged the original 12 worlds to create Nirn to protect them/spite Sithis and they fought and Sithis lost and went away for a time but then came back and they fought again but this time their blood became the Aedra and the Deadra who are just Aedra at the start. The Hist tree itself claims Sithis as its creator so it is hard to pin down exactly when the Hist was born but before the Bones of creation we know so either when the worlds merged or around the same time as the Aedra with the blood making them also divine beings.
The way the Argonian relationship with the hist trees and such is kinda like how in the Avatar movies where they all can connect to the world's network of memories and such by connecting their hair to the vines of their world tree and they also believed they'd go into this system when they die like the Argonians believe. An ever-changing circle of energy.
Oblivion crisis happens

When you're a Lizard chilling in your swamp, an Oblivion Gate opens and you calmly play your Uno reverse card.
Not only fighting the daedra back, but *invading their home turf* has to be a madlad move few can achieve
Lizard kind just vibing in the jungled marshes..
Every empire: Dibs..
And....None of them got the dibs. Not even the fucking demons LOL.
Argonians: And I took that personally
But them trees called dibs first.
Fuck yes. My favorite race since I first played the series and knew nothing about them.
The early ES games were so deep in race lore and history, now everybody is pretty much just the same.
@@jonbaxter2254CAP ON THAT LAST PART
Imagine the panic of the Dremora coming out of the gate expecting them to tremble in fear, only to be welcomed with legions of angry lizards
Imagine the terror when Daedric captains not deployed through the gate watched the remains of their comrades scramble back through the portal followed by an army of half-mad Argonians ready to put the fear of the Hist in the godless Daedra.

Truly the best. His histlry channel is badass as well same exact style but covering real battles and peoples
