My dad was 40 years old when I was born in 92, my dad would lecture me about my dribbling if my hand came even slightly off the top of the ball, nowadays he's probably rolling in his grave.
It’s weird how “fans” nowadays aren’t really fans of the sport. They’re defense lawyers and amateur PR consultants for their “favorite player” (which has as much to do with their popularity & fashion choices as their actual game), because they identify with them on a weird parasocial level. Very few watch or understand the game and the ones who do have this weird bias and notion that basketball means everyone plays like a point guard.
It's sad because it's mainly influenced by debate shows. The worse part is so many rules have been changed to accommodate the casual fan and debate show actors that these sports are turning into totally different sports. Baseball is the perfect example right now.
Good points especially the last one. But I would say it’s on a homo erotic level because ppl idolize other grown men and it turns into a very very unhealthy infatuation. They all act like girls for other grown men
Spot on! No one who so flagrantly travels so often (without consequences) and thereby dishonors the rules of the game should ever be in the GOAT conversation.
It reminds me of Shaq, but at least with him, you had to distinguish between an offensive foul and someone just flopping. Nobody flops against LeBron. His are mostly legit offensive fouls, plus he's too busy doing the flopping 😆
Yes, LeBron push offs is crazy. They never call offensive foul on him after extending his whole arm and pushing that man out of the way and they wouldn't call nothing.
For the dummies who cannot see how much this inflates offenses, this is equivalent to allowing soccer players to lift the ball with hands and run a few steps to new location and then dropping it when they are in the clear. You cannot compare scoring averages, shooting percentages etc from this cupcake era where you cannot handcheck and you are allowed to carry the ball to “change direction”. The palming of the ball is so ridiculous. Adam silver has made it so that the game is cheapened.
I truly believe that travelling rule changes, were single most impactful thing that makes today players look like they are un-guardable. I mean how can one guard James Hardens backwards walk in the park? In the past defender knew the limitations of offensive player's movement within the rules of dribbling the ball. Today there are no rules, on top of blind refs, who rarely bother to even look at the players feet anymore.
It's ridiculous because I've literally seen players take 5+ steps. Carmelo's was so egregious one game & he took like 8 steps as he was allowed to move his pivot foot almost a dozen times to reset. Don't insult my intelligence as a fan.
Ya, as a Canadian watching team Canada in Fiba and rooting for them.. Shai gilgeous alexander carries the ball every single possession, almost every single dribble he does is a carry. Its hard to guard somebody when they can penetrate to the paint by carrying the ball like a football running back every play
@@atlien1988 You said it perfectly. I try to explain this to young guys, but they think I am just a hater. Basketball isnt basketball without the rules.

The other problem was kids watching these pros and learned to say "f" the fundamentals cause thats what their bball heroes were doing. So thank you for bringing this up and covering it.
I doubt any kid saying f the fundamentals making it into the NBA. I stopped arguing with people about this years ago. Travelling is one of the most important calls there is in basketball. Not calling it gives the offense an insane advantage. As a defender you're expecting certain restraints and you know what a player's options are depending on what they are doing with the ball. If a guy can pick up dribble and take four steps then it might be pretty hard to anticipate a shot.
Exactly!!! Then lebum gets fouled after the blatant travel and gets a free pass to the foul line or even a "and 1" Smh....but like you said, it's impossible to properly defend a guy when you know he already picked up his dribble, but is then allowed to take 3 or 4 steps. Ridiculous.
@lydellb as long as it's called equally for both teams on the court, it doesn't matter! It's up to the player to adapt to what the officiating will deem acceptable, then use it to their advantage.
@@steve8803 yeah but LeFlop was scared and never entered the dunk contest. He didn't possess the tools needed to enter and not look stupid. Just sayin'
Thank you for this video. Travelling and carrying are my biggest gripes with the current standards in the NBA, even in college. People talk about the lack of defense, but how can anyone play defense with the way you can take extra steps or carry the ball?! It's ridiculous.
-- both can be true. I tell my buddy they are more "skilled" today b/c they shoot farther. HOWEVER, I always tell him the rules are so much looser, which makes it easier to score. My friend argues the rules are the "same" b/c the rulebook hasn't changed -- even if the interpretations are wayyyyy different. lol, wild. @@jlui21 I'm older myself 😂 but is it more skilled? You think Harden would be anywhere near what people think he is in the 90s with that stepback trash properly called and people played defense? I don't see it. Now we have Steph with his generational range but he's the ultimate outlier. I feel confident saying all these current day volume shooters would crash to earth since they've gone so far from the fundamentals. You'd think a KD with his height and range would excel in any generation but he showed against Boston that he doesn't like physical play.
@@chucknorris2418I don't think it's more skilled. Players back then literally couldn't dribble the way players do now because the refs would call carrying and traveling. No one in the NBA outside a very few big men have a post game. Kobe was a guard that would post players in the paint. You never seen guards like Tatum or Harden doing that. Can players shoot 3s better? I've seen plenty of players like Blake Griffin and Brook Lopez go from barely shooting 3s to being above average 3pt shooters. Are we sure players back then wouldn't make the same adjustment?

AT LAST. I've been saying this for years. I luv basketball but modern players be walking so much and NOTHING gets called. It's why I can't take some of the stats seriously compared to 70-90's era. In their effort to promote the product above "Streetball" and to promote/market modern stars,, the NBA has "turned a blind eye" to some of the game's fundamentals like travelling... including (please put a compilation together of this) STEP BACK 3'S. BIG PROPS to AOHF for putting this together. Unfortunately, many don't want to hear the truth, but what you are saying is spot on correct. Sorry for the stars of previous eras. Shame on you NBA! I learned play back in 2000. I stopped playing Around 2003 and started back up again a couple years ago. I was completely in shock that all of the good young players were traveling and double dribbling and carrying all over the place and when I called them for it everybody looked at me like I was crazy
I remember Bron first 7 years when he kept trying to plead his case for the hop step and why it wasn't a travel. He kept getting travel calls until year 4 or 5 amd refs stopped calling a travel.
@@leftnrighthandofgod1Yea those 7 years... when he also missed the playoffs his 1st 2 and got put out in the second round... but let's not talk about that

Fantastic points. The rules started skewing towards offensive players for one reason and it is still ongoing. The rules changed after Jordan retired for the last time. The league was so afraid of life without Michael Jordan, that they eased up the rules in a conscious effort to produce the next MJ. It doesn’t work like that NBA.
When I was a kid in the 90s I "developed" a move where I'd dribble behind my back with my right hand and feint to left to make the defender commit but instead of completing the behind the back dribble I'd swing the ball back to the right (the ball never leaving my right hand) and drive to the hoop past the defender who's momentum was carrying him to the left. I definitely needed to cradle the ball to do this, or at least handle it with my hand underneath. It's done quickly and I got away with it all summer on the playground but the minute I tried it in practice at school my coach put a stop to it haha. I was in 8th grade, 12-13 years old. Purpose of traveling call is to prevent players from simply carrying the ball. Yet, that is exactly what they've done with new interpretations in order to boost points scored.
Great video as always. Don't forget the other rules changes that were implemented after Michael Jordan retired in 2003 were: (1) Changing the format of the 1st round of the playoffs from a best of 5 to a best of 7. This allows for players to increase the probability of racking up more points towards their career point total since there are mathematically more games to play in the playoffs. (2) The fact that players fouled on a 3-point shot, are now given 3 Free Throws. Whereas in the past, a player fouled on a 3-point shot was only given 2 Free Throws. Being given 3 Free Throws also increases players probability of adding to their career point total, vs players in the past who were only given 2 Free Throws instead of 3.
This is exactly what has made the NBA so unwatchable for me. Compared to the way the game was called in the 80s/90s, I see so much traveling and carrying today, I'm too distracted to enjoy the game. To me, these very deliberate choices made by the league in the way the game is managed was the NBAs response to streetball popularity. It's not the players fault if the refs never call anything. Thank you very much for your content. I don't see the league regaining lost viewership without addressing this very fundamental issue on how the game is played and called...
If Lebron played in previous eras he would have more turnovers, fewer, assist, rebounds, and points just based on rule differential and how referees called games.
So youre either talking time travel which he can adapt or if he was bornnin the 60s and grew up not traveling cause it was called. Haterade sponsorship is calling.
As a 37 yo that grew up playing against Bron….we weren’t allowed to do half of what this generation can do. If I was allowed to carry and travel, I woulda been on a plane to Spain right after high school 😂
When I played high school ball in eastern Canada in the mid-80's, it was so old-school it was unbelievable. You were allowed one step. So many traveling violations were called. Very strict on "3 in the Key" defensive violations. If you frickin' grazed somebody on defense, it was a foul call. And you had to dribble almost like a yo-yo, or you were called for a "carrying" violation, ie.e. palming the ball. I'm actually glad the rules have loosed up a bit; it's a more beautiful and flowing game now.

MJ and some of the stars from past decades did travel a bit; but they did it SUBTLEY and DISCREETLY and coming from a triple threat position. Players today do it BRAZENLY which is crazy. Why did the NBA allowed this craziness?
The NBA wanted to make the sport more of a show than a sporting competition. People love dunks and other highlight-worthy material, so in order to attract more viewers, increase chances of selling more tickets/merchandise/etc, the NBA decided to artificially boost Offensive production rather than trust in the talent of the players.
@@tenthirty82 actually he did. One is example is when he posted up Starks in the Double Nickel game and he went baseline..he picked up his pivot foot..but again: it is SUBTLE unlike today's players..he does it smoothly you won't notice it at first glance
@@rageflash9 I watched the video of the game you are referring to and yes MJ started his dribble after lifting his pivot foot which is a travel, but from what I have seen (I have mostly watched FIBA games from that period and only maybe 2 and a half NBA games) players were not traveling. When I first read your comment I didn't know about the exact play you were referring to so I assumed that Jordan did what is now called a step through move (which is legal and which has been legal for over 40 years, both in NBA rules and in FIBA rules, even though many non professional bball players think it is illegal or that it has recently become legal). You are allowed to lift your pivot foot off the ground as long as you shoot or pass the ball before you land the pivot foot back on the ground. Anyway, that's not what MJ did, he traveled, it was fairly obvious in the reply and the ref didn't call it. But that was one of the rarer examples I would see maybe 2 or 3 uncalled travels in the entire game from the early 1990s and now there are 2-3 uncalled travels per possession.
that is correct and I NEVER refuted that. look for the double nickel game against the Knicks when MJ posted up against Starks and went baseline for a layup; he lifted his pivot on that play. again, the word is DISCREETLY so if he gets away with it every once in a while, it's fine. Kobe did this as well at times. you really have to watch it CLOSELY and have a strong grasp of the rules to see it
Beautifully well done video. I believe majority of Lebron fans don't watch the games at all. Just highlights, box scores and basketball reference. People can say what they want about you, but you back it up with stats, video evidence and actual documents
LeBrons media/player management Company, Klutch Sports has saturated social media with LeBrons 30 second clips, false praises and glorifying his stats with false narratives. The nerds who claim to watch basketball go off of that. They don’t watch the game. I know because I know several that have never even played the game. Well, actually they do play NBA 2k on PlayStation, if you wanna count that. Lol

Magic has NO integrity HE thinks LeFraud is a great player & bronny belongs in the nba. He’s been bought & paid for by Crotch/Klutch. NBA sucks, hard to watch
Dude! This is Brilliant work! I'm "young" enough to remember why the Lane was called the "Key," before they widened the lane because of Superior Athletes like Wilt; Young enough to remember why Kareem was forced to develop his unstoppable Hook Shot, because he was a Superior Athlete, and kept dunking on everyone; they had to ban dunking in College Basketball. The "Kids" who play now are not Superior Athletes, they just get the benefit of "Superior Rules" that allow them to take 4,5,10 steps on a play. Some of them (most) could be Leading Rushers in the NFL 👍
I am with you. In addition to, Silver clearly said that his "friends" that watch the game, asked him to make some changes to make the game MORE enjoyable! BoolSheit! I've said for years that Samsonite should give LeBron his own signature luggage. As much as he travels. Remember when you actually had to hit the rim on a shot attempt? Otherwise, you got called for traveling or a shot clock violation.
I remember memorizing basketball rules when i was a student because it is part of the physical education curriculum, and i really remember saying to my self i can only do two steps without dribbling the ball. This was late 90s to early 00s and i'm not even a big basketball fan, it was just needed to pass the subject. I wonderbif LBJ fans have the same physical education subjects.
I love this video. I'm from the Larry Bird / Magic days (and before) and I haven't watched basketball in literally, decades. Recently, I've begun watching highlight videos and I'm, like, what's going on here? They carry the ball constantly! And Lebron is definitely not the only offender. They ALL do it. Constantly! I've been emailing my cousin with some of the hightlight videos from time to time, and while I think some of today's players are incredible, especially the long range shooting and and some of the passing, like from Luka, he's as guilty as Lebron with the constant ball carrying. I love your video because now I know I'm not halucinating and I'm not misremembering how basketball used to be played. Appreciate it. Subscribed!
LeCrybaby has gotten away with so much traveling in his long career... especially drives to the basket you take all those back and make them turn overs like they should be he probably wouldn't have broken the scoring record yet. 🤣
As an Australian travel travel rules in the NBA is so relaxed, it needs to be called more. 3 steps is 3 steps end of arguement. Luka is a good example of travelling. He takes 35 steps on the spot. That's a travel.
So spot on!! Crazy - I spend more time rewinding steps than watching the game. Watch any game and you can count a 6 step every game with no call. Just because it’s a step back don’t allow 2 free steps!! lol thanks for the video!!
This is why the stats of the modern era to me aren’t taken as seriously. This whole era needs to be met with an asterisk. Lebron could never dribble and the fact that he gets to push his opponent away without an offensive foul is UFC and WWE. I wish Jordan was afforded these rules I swear he’s still be playing in the NBA right now!
Definitely edited, you can see where he actually takes dribbles if you look closely. Don't know why anyone would digitally alter a video considering there's plenty of REAL travels to choose from.
Heck ya AHF they don't call travel anymore , hell I have seen players take the ball at the top of the key and dribble once and never get called for a travel
That's why 80's and 90's era are far superior than today's era. Because it is harder to score during those times. Wherein there is a strict rule regarding traveling. And unwritten rule about no blood no foul.
You know what kids playing basketball today here in my country always commits traveling or dribbling violations more often even in their pick up games. Players today don't even know how to do a simple rule that they shouldn't drag or even lift to their pivot foot just to escape their defender. I love if someone can play with rules always emphasized even in one on one pickup basketball games so those who can't play proper game end up losing games easily.
Nice video to observe it historically and how it’s changed. I can remember the biggest shift with the traveling rules starting with James Harden, during his prime Houston days. I’m only in my 20’s and even I’m a little baffled with what gets called legal and a travel by people my age. I don’t mind the rules being a little more relaxed or being the same as strict but damn it’s really bad at times how they run.
Honestly if you think about it…you’re totally right on point! I’m old enough to remember the time when rules were applied! Not saying MJ never got away with something ever, he did, but never to the overwhelming extent of today’s players. I do believe that after MJ retired his last time they started to realize they had to change rules to make games with more points and to inflate the stats to make it appear that the players were evolving when in reality many are not, they are just more skilled in being sneaky!
7:17 LeFraud fans believe a player can make it to the rim from 30 feet away without dribbling. It's insane. He took 5 steps in that clip. From 30 feet away to dunking without even 1 dribble 🤣🤣🤣 The assist thing has become totally ridiculous. I've lost count of how many times I've seen lebron throw a pass to a teammate, the teammate takes 4-5 dribbles, makes a move, then shoots, and lebron is somehow credited with an assist. We keep hearing today's players are the most skilled ever and I believe that is false. They're able to circumvent the rules so it appears they are more skilled. If player A can take 4-5 steps to get around defenders who can't put their hands on the offensive player vs player B who can take 1 step and be hand checked by the defender it gives the appearance that player A is getting to the basket easier therefore they must be more skilled.
I always laughed my ass off when people asked would the warriors beat the bulls? KD showed against Boston that he doesn't like physical defense and that was physical by today's standard still wasn't close to the 90s levels when defenders weren't handcuffed. I'd really love to see Steph in the 80s or 90s. I remember when Delly was irritating him in the Finals. Take that and crank up the intensity. No doubt he's got range but add physicality and I'd love to see what happens. In the 90s he'd be trying to run off ball around screens and an enforcer would just stiffen up and let him run into a brick wall. Do that shit a few times in the 1st and he might not even finish the game 😂

also, remember back in the day if someone shot the ball and it didnt hit the rim but they themselves caught it, it was also a form of travel and we often called it "passing to self". But didnt we see Lebron get cutoff, so he threw it hard at the backboard so he could get the ball again and he just layed it up. No alley oop to himself...just hit the backboard and restart his possession i guess😂😂🤷🏽♂️.
Thanks for this. I get annoyed when ppl talk about how skilled curry is but never the privileges he has. I'd love to see a screen video. Focus on kg lol.
I was taught 2 and a half steps that half step is for the gather... also thats if you are in motion if you are dribbling standing still and then pick up your dribble you are can't take any steps... if you catch it on the run you can take 1 and a half step again that half step is for the gather.... once you stop your dribble you can't dribble it again unless you lose possesion of the ball either by passing it and then getting passed back or if the defender knocks it lose from your grip and it hits the floor... sometimes you will see a player who stopped their dribble hit it off a defender and start dribbling again thats legal because they gave up the ball and it hit another player so you can start dribbling the ball again... and a carry is when you have your hand under the ball then bounce it because technically you picked up the ball and stopped the dribble.
A more objective look at these rule alterations made me realize: lebron would just be a role player in the 80s and 90s. The addition of the 3 second rule makes it easier for lebron to do what he does.
anytime your palm was face up it was a carry. anytime you took more than 2 steps without a dribble it was a walk. you were allowed one step after gathering the ball…these are the rules we used while playing in parks in nyc in the late 90s. oh and no blood no foul, this last one was a bit excessive but it was legit the rule in many street ball games. if you called foul without a visible scratch or blood or eye poke you were a biatch
As a 40 something NBA fan - I thought I was just alone in feeling like this or that I was just way out of date in understanding the rules. The amount of “palming”, traveling, and double dribbles these days led me to believe the rules just must’ve changed. Finding AOH’s channel has been a breath of fresh air.
I actually believe that ball handling today is super inflated with every player doing so many unnecessary moves just to get some space to get a shot off. Players gotta double hezi crossover step back just to get open now. One can say this takes "more skill" since they're doing more things and it certainly is harder to do all that, but there is such a thing as "wasted movements." The great players of old could get enough space to get a clean look in 0-2 dribbles, often times with a single move. Sure it doesn't look as flashy, but it was highly efficient and deadly. Someone doing one move into a shot is harder to react to than a player doing an elaborate sequence of dribbling combos. This is also why players like Jaylen Brown are inconsistent in the playoffs because he has to be doing some fancy dribble combos just to get open, and when defenses start to pressure you more, you aren't allowed to do all that. Every guard plays like that too, even some of the bigger players. So the lie of the players being more skilled today is another media narrative young cats just latch on to because they don't know any better. While you can say it takes more skill to do all those dribble combos, it certainly doesn't make you a better player, more dribbles means you're giving the defense a better chance to read you increasing the likelihood of a turnover. BALL HANDLING has come to just mean dribbling today when it means how well you take care of the ball. Players in the past had clean and tight handles, Isiah, Stockton, Jordan, Hakeem, Penny, Bird, Magic, but since they didn't go inbetween the legs 8 times into a stepback hezi spin behind the back left handed floater then they weren't skilled.
LeBron fan tried telling me he had handles. I swear these people watch LeBron do something and just ASSUME that's the best way it's ever been done because the man barely has average NBA handles
In my opinion, in the late 80's all the way up until Iverson came into the league, the refs did a better job making calls such as the calls you're showing today. After Iverson came into the league, carrying, traveling, double dribbling were overlooked. I think they did that in order to make the game faster but, it's hard to watch basketball today. Thanks for the videos!
you are being a bit silly. there was a transition during that time. rafer alston carried just as much. jayson williamson. it wasnt an ivo thing. it was a generational thing. street ball was implemented into the nba at that time.
AI marked the beginning of confusion for me, whether his cross overs were legal or not. In his defense, some of them were legal and still lethal. But others were not legal (in my opinion). Then there came the blurred line of what was a great legal crossover and what was a carry cross over.
I've always found it difficult to root for LeBron for these very reasons. It's difficult watching him play & ironically, he plays a lot like Westbrook. However, LeBron is more protected by the refs & adored by the media & fans. LeBron is obviously better & I'm not arguing against that. It's just hilarious seeing how one player is demonized & another is considered the _Chosen One._
I never believed in the travel call as it stands today or in the past. It was out in place to stop players from taking multiple steps. A little 6 inch step or foot sliding is ridiculous. But they let them take 3 steps for a layup. And then they never call carrying the ball or dribbling too high. It's the game with the worst rules.
Thanks for this video. I try to watch lebron highlights sometimes, but i just get pissed off when i see what he is allowed to do and what people celebrate him for. The nba channel posted his highlights reel from the first half of the last season and i swear that 90% of the plays in that video are either travels or offensive fouls. Shit got me seriously annoyed.
It was enough for them to take away the hand checking. Then they allowed this type of play because their supposed self proclaimed king can’t dribble legally

Excellent analogy.
These new players can carry and travel.. 😂
Hand checking has been illegal since the 70s. It just wasn't reinforced, much like traveling today, yet they both were still called.

Ridiculous.

I definitely needed to cradle the ball to do this, or at least handle it with my hand underneath. Purpose of traveling call is to prevent players from simply carrying the ball. Yet, that is exactly what they've done with new interpretations in order to boost points scored.
Great video as always. Don't forget the other rules changes that were implemented after Michael Jordan retired in 2003 were:
(1) Changing the format of the 1st round of the playoffs from a best of 5 to a best of 7.

MJ didn’t travel discreetly lol he traveled once in a while and the refs blew the whistle unlike today
LeCrybaby has gotten away with so much traveling in his long career... especially drives to the basket you take all those back and make them turn overs like they should be he probably wouldn't have broken the scoring record yet. 🤣
Traveling and charging...his go to moves.
@@allpraisestothemosthigh9418crying to the refs is another LeBron signature
That's why that scoring leader is FAKE
I'm so happy I found this video. I go blue in the face talking to these young bucks about the new age of basketball
THANK YOU for doing this video. I've been trying to explain this to people too.
As an Australian travel travel rules in the NBA is so relaxed, it needs to be called more. 3 steps is 3 steps end of arguement.
Luka is a good example of travelling. He takes 35 steps on the spot. That's a travel.
This was one of the greatest funniest video i ever seen.😂 I'm telling you man this young generation dont know shit about basketball.
AOHF is the real MVP. Keep spitting those facts ☝🏾
yea in the 91 finals there were HELLA traveling calls. they don't call traveling at all now its crazy
Behold! The bagless one!
7:25. Damn. Looks like he took five steps there lol.
@@Vennnnnnnnnn hmm? So you’re saying AOH is editing his videos to make his points?
@@Vennnnnnnnnn oh okay. Maybe it’s good for TV ratings? lol.
This series needed to be made. The Modern NBA is just looks wrong. Total cop out letting these great athletes break the rules.
Keep doing great work and exposing this crap
Thank you man. From the bottom of my basketball loving heart.
7:17 LeFraud fans believe a player can make it to the rim from 30 feet away without dribbling. It's insane. He took 5 steps in that clip. From 30 feet away to dunking without even 1 dribble 🤣🤣🤣
The assist thing has become totally ridiculous.
Its undeniable evidence, video proof of his traveling with NO calls!!! How???
😮💯 bron is the most overrated player in history
@@chucknorris2418also, curry benefited of moving screens which were illegal back then
thats because that video is fake lol, he did dribble it, if you search for the real clip, this one was just edited to make it look like he never dribbled lol, im actually surprisd by how many people dont know or realise this@@allpraisestothemosthigh9418
when the LEshytstain has the ball in his hands the refs swallow their whistles less its 4 callin a foul on the opposing player for blowin in LEfallacy's ear. good grief.
Angry,tanks! what a fantastic !🔥
My favorite TH-cam channel . Underrated.
also, remember back in the day if someone shot the ball and it didnt hit the rim but they themselves caught it, it was also a form of travel and we often called it "passing to self". But didnt we see Lebron get cutoff, so he threw it hard at the backboard so he could get the ball again and he just layed it up. No alley oop to himself...just hit the backboard and restart his possession i guess😂😂🤷🏽♂️.
Lebton is the kng of traveling, that dude cant move without traveling
King of travelling, king of flop, king of fake social justice
He more appropriate to work as pilot instead of NBA player, keep travelling around the world...
Thanks for this. I get annoyed when ppl talk about how skilled curry is but never the privileges he has. I'd love to see a screen video. Focus on kg lol.
Step 1: Pre-gather😳
Step 2: Gather🤯
Step 3: Post-gather🫣
Step 4: First step🤭
Step 5: Second step🤫
Step 6: Hop😅
I agree 💯 with this video. But we just have to accept it’s a different game than the one we came to love from 1983 - 2011.
Why do we have to accept that? Those playing high school and many of the college conferences don't get away with it
I was taught 2 and a half steps that half step is for the gather... also thats if you are in motion if you are dribbling standing still and then pick up your dribble you are can't take any steps... if you catch it on the run you can take 1 and a half step again that half step is for the gather.... once you stop your dribble you can't dribble it again unless you lose possesion of the ball either by passing it and then getting passed back or if the defender knocks it lose from your grip and it hits the floor... sometimes you will see a player who stopped their dribble hit it off a defender and start dribbling again thats legal because they gave up the ball and it hit another player so you can start dribbling the ball again... and a carry is when you have your hand under the ball then bounce it because technically you picked up the ball and stopped the dribble.
I actually feel bad for the next generation who believes that this guy with no handles and no jumpshot is the greatest player of all time... smh
That first traveling on jordan is how every nba player today starts their dribble.
Agree
@@stevensmith7191I remember that
@@yettiluch1AI came before Alston and “Williamson” lol… it’s Williams. Anyhow yeah that was the timeline.
Nah they definitely called carrying on AI... that was the end of his killer cross over
You know what, I’m 100% with you man, don’t stoop to their level, coz that doesn’t make make any better than them!!!!
Yeah, that gather step... and all the other steps.
Lol they're basically the exact same player. Imagine if Russ was 6'9 😂
I've been saying this FOREVER. LeBron just barrels to the rim to raise his FG% but is just as bad from 3
For me MJ was like poetry and ballet. Kobe spoke the same language. LeBron is like watching a Kodiak bear drown.
@@inazuma3goulmmfao
Westbrook is better than LeBron. He's not a diva and he plays both sides of the court. LeBron takes breaks and he's lazy
Love it 👍
Thanks for this video.
He's used his off arm to drive to basket his whole career and offensive foul is never called
Facts.
Facts. Giannis does it too, all they do is travel and run over people
Your videos fill a,void for me and put to words just exactly how I feel about the modern NBA and why I have trouble watching it.
It was enough for them to take away the hand checking. Then they allowed this type of play because their supposed self proclaimed king can’t dribble legally
