On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

same Matchup reversed would be awesome
Legend has it he’s still out there walking.
Probably frozen stiff under a bush like Jack Nicholson at the end of 'The Shining.'
Nah. I heard he's warm inside the belly of a grizzly bear. Be even warmer coming out.😂😂😂😂
The walk was hilarious!!!
nah he's frozen like hatchet jack
Reminds me of a book named 'A Story about a Real Man' based on a true story of a Russian pilot in WW2, who got shot down by a German fighter and lost his both legs upon crashing to the ground inside German occupied territory. He belly-crawled for 18 days behind the enemy lines to reach Russian front. While both of his legs were amputated below ankles, he still managed to come back as a fighter pilot and continued to fly with prosthetic legs.
The fade out frustrated walk away: "I dont have any food, my back hurts, no gun, Im out here in the tundra, there probably bears too, ahh.... I dont any underwear.... *slow fading voice*" LMFAO
Зато на этот раз его не собьёт машина
@@Specter690655 Way to see the good in the situation.
Bears sleep during the entire winter, but wolved dont.
I've always thought about it. What happens to the pilot who survive and is out in the middle of nowhere? They are trained to survive yes, they also have some MREs strapped on their suit and a handgun but that's nothing in terrain like these that stretches for thousands of miles.
Just remember, as you're walking home, stay off any roads you come across and be on the lookout for Toyota trucks. lol
Pilot: I don’t have any gun, food, i’m in the wilderness, there are bears probably
Base commander: So?
Just another day in the North:)
how come he doesnt have a gun?
Grizzle Grizzle!
@@panterka.f that is just for fun. the russians have even an automatic gun PPK-20 since 2021 onboard. All in a survival kit. All pilots have survival kits with first aid, food, radio, knife, gun, etc..
I hear bears are safer than men.
The commentary at the end 😂
I have no guns, no foods, no kids 😂
Absolutely hilarious 😂
@@vandasaragosa
Actually he has food, knife and a gun. Thats a standart survival kit in the pilot chair.
"I'm not quite sure what it is but I really like winter"~GS
Your 🇨🇦 is showing 😆
nah snow makes everything just look so much better
At least you didn’t get hit by a car this time…
...yet
@@GrowlingSidewinder Nyet?
Cue the snowcat😂
I think it would be really cool to see more TacView footage of these long range missile fights. It would allow for us to see just how insane these missiles are, and what actually happens during the fight rather than the occasional missile flyby shot. Love these long range BVR videos!
walking into the sunset. wait...no rations, no firearm, no radio? dude you're toast. lol
Please fly The F-15EX with AIM-260's VS The MIG-31 with R-37M's!
Please fly The F-15STOL/MTD VS The SU-30SM Dogfight!
f15 active would be even better
@@haxmalper3633 its the same tho...
@@haxmalper3633 A fellow man of culture, i see..
Bro, we dont even know how the Aim-260 looks like since it wasnt revealed to the public yet.
Love the ending. By far the best one. Growling would be laughing to himself while walking across a barren land. His villain arc has just begun. Evil GS be like "Always shoot during the head-on pass"
I'm not sure. The ejection with the pilot crossing a road and getting hit by the car is pretty high on my list. That shit had me rollin'!
@@brandnewdan That one was hilarious.
Those Meteors come off the rail kinda funky, almost as if it wants to take down the host aircraft.
Still waiting for GS go drop his version of the BF3 F-18 mission “Going Hunting”
His voice fading as the pilot walks away was a nice touch.
I'd watch it
stahp
It's cool to see the formation stay together a little longer than normal. In most of your videos you always go off on your own. And then you don't really see the group move and tandem with each other. So I like this this is really cool.
Famous last words: “Meteors are dangerous!”
Note to self; always use terrain masking when the opportunity presents.
The surviving last flanker flanked the incoming missiles. All other survivors walk 100+ miles to nearest house or perhaps even a village. Maybe all the walkers can meet up and have a barbecue with MRE:s - they sure could use the warmth of the fire.
Thank you for another, as always, great video!
I am so happy you made it out alive because this gave us the kino ending scene as well as some very interesting info that I didn't know yet! I also feel that this vod was good in portraying the "character" of the missiles. The meteor just being so hard to shake off and just hounding down the Flankers and the R-37M coming out of nowhere and just hammering into the Gripens! Some great visuals here, thank you for the vod!
What I'm taking out of this is that modern air-to-air missiles are chuffing dangerous and you have to fly super defensively to have any chance of evasion.
I'm impressed the Flankers did as well as they did in the video. The Gripen is no joke, especially with the Meteors. My expection going into that video was at minimum that all the Flankers get intimate with the ground.
I like the little explanations during flight and/or combat, like what the lines mean on the radar contacts.
Also, you'd think that an ejection system would also include some basic survival gear.
Now there's a video idea, how do you survive after being downed with nothing
DCS - The Walking Simulator
In the meantime, I suggest "Behind Enemy Lines" and "Bat 21" to scratch your itch 🙂
Thanks 👍🏻 @@emilecormier5085
Survives a missile strike, a g lock, and ejection... then starts complaing: "I don't have a gun"
Yes flying the flanker!!!! I love watching you fly the flankers
Had to rewind on your last one, barely even saw the Gripen before it exploded.
*
Well I would walk five hundred miles,
And I would walk five hundred more,
Just to get home.
*
The Gripen is such a sexy aircraft. Top 3 looks wise, in my opinion. What do y'all think?
All the last three swedish fighters are my top three 😂
I think this mission is worth a replay from Gripen point of view.
Ending was soo good and Im always really excited for your outro because I love the Bf4 Warsaw theme :D
The signal strength indicator in the Flanker is super handy! Good video as always! Thanks GS!
That long walk home is hilarious, you're going to complain for the next 100 miles?
500 miles brother lol its a long way back
Those crashes look like adult lawn darts. The graphics are very impressive.
That is a beautiful map.
Those Flanker paint jobs are ace too.
Though when the map is like that, we all pay a pretty penny in heating costs.
That's probably a design feature of the Su-27, the crashing fighter puts you into g-loc so you die and they don't have to come pick you up 😅
Or give away any secrets after being tortured :-P
That's evil. 🙃
I think there were some birds coming after you. I kept hearing one. I think you should very happy to be walking so normallly!
GS goes from flying in DCS to surviving in The Long Dark.
I just watched an extended interview with a current Grippen pilot...and he seemed confident that they could tangle with even stealth aircraft using passive sensors to make them less visible to enemy radar. Interesting stuff.
Yeah, current sensors and EW capabilities of the Gripen E, coupled with its small size makes it punch very well above its weight class. Some of those systems are unfortunately hard to simulate in DCS due to their very classified nature though.
I like all the videos, so my suggestion for a video is ... fly any plane(s) against any plane(s). If you can arrange that, I will be one happy subscriber!! :-) thanks!
I always enjoy watching you fly with others. Everyone else is in perfect formation, while you buzz around haphazardly like a kid drunk on too much halloween candy. :)
I laughed out loud. Literally. Thank you!
best ending ever! the rant at the end haha! Love it!!!
With the introduction of the AIM-174, when do you think we’d be able to see Lockheed Martins new Mako Hypersonic coded into DCS? Supposedly that is able to be loaded onto a bunch of different airframes!
It was really fun to watch. Regarding your ejection and survival. Actually pilots have survival kit in their seat. There's a gun, food, knife, light,
a small saw and (if I'm not mistaken) even a fishing line with a hook to catch the fish.
This really contrasts the other 1v1 videos where both sides seemingly have no problems evading the missiles but here most actually hit their targets woah
R-37M weighs 510 kg, Meteor weighs 185 kg. SM-6 weighs 1500 kg with the booster, which the AIM-174B will likely not have. Still, AIM-174B will weigh much more than R-37M and will have much longer range.
I could go for a full video of just this pilot walking back and GS's inner monologue lol
Okay, the hypersonic is sick and effective. However, that Gripen/Meteor combo is just bye-bye Flankers. Living up to its purpose.
That first missile strike made me jump. I was watching and listening and it still surprised me. You do some amazing stuff. Keep it up.
3:12 You ARE Canadian after all
"Bears, wolves, no cities, no food, no kit." Hey, at least there's no cars.
Great vid. I'm loving these multi-ship engagements! Would love to see how well you could do when outnumbered.
Dang, this mission was a bad day for everybody! Lots of pilots going to be walking home, and probably just as many entombed in the craters that their their shattered aircraft cut into the ground.
Yeah, lots of sketchy ejections when they're flying defensively so low to the ground haha
Eskimos were perplexed by a strangely dressed man mumbling to himself. :P.
Imagine being in the same situation GS was in No food no gun nothing to survive in the middle of nowhere stranded
And worse still, having to depend upon Russia to care....
@@truthseeker9454 i mean, the sukhoi x gripen matchup has a place where it can happen
brazil and venezuela, though venezuela operates the 30 not the 27
"It could have been worse." Yeppers, you could have landed in the water.
Love those winter textures. Looks great
Day 158 F-4E vs. bandit unknown 4 rounds guns only until damaged, then Fox 2 is free fire.
That would be sweet to see a view of the missiles passing each other, or one zooming by and then the other to see how they compare.
The monologue trailing off into the sun is beautiful. Sucks you got clapped tho.
If I remember correctly the last time you were walking after an ejection you got hit by a car
imagine surviving a dogfight against the raptor and being hit by a car
Cool how you've done the last scene, with fading voice and stuff 😄
I’ve seen in other videos that when a target of a hypersonic missile jukes back and forth it can make the missile miss due to the lower ability of the hypersonic missile’s ability to turn.
That was great, both of those missiles are pretty awesome. Funny ending too. 👏
That ending made me think, what if you simulate a scenario where you have to protect a downed wingman from enemy air and ground forces until an evac can pick them up? Kind of like a SERE scenario.
GS - how difficult would it be for you to create a channel for GS-Tactical - the channel would show the same video you post, just with a split screen for the TAC view - you wouldn't have to do any additional commentary. I think it would be nice to see what is happening Mission-wide as you are doing what you do in relation to all bandits and other teammates?
Aaaah! the sad fate of a jet jock who didn't take care of the Rotary Sky God in the bar the night before.😎
Next time with the Eurofighter please love your vids
That's one long walk back to the S-300 site! 😅
That was just one of the most epic endings you should keep as funny endings.😂😂😂😂😂
Is it me or did those Gripens not use everything to beat those missiles? It seems they flew to high and didn't use any elevation in their advantage.
F/A-18E/F vs F-35C (Fox-2 fight) would be epic to see! Navy vs Navy : Old vs New
Day 69
That's a long walk home, buddy!
Insane how huge and heavy those R37Ms are... not quite a sm-6, but still...
Will DCS have the Gripen E at some point ? quite a different beast
'
Depends if the technical documentations are declassified and accessible for the public. DCS aims for 1:1 replicas as good as possible but sadly most needed informations are classified
Woooohooo! Thank you!
The real danger here is hypothermia 😅🥶🥶
True. Because of how far any modern fighter can fly from base, he may have to stay overnight (and sleep) in the snow filled woods a couple of times.
i love the soviet era Su-27S with R-37M, do no mods actually model the later variants of Su-27 correctly
The last scene was pure comedy gold
well done sir
AS A PATRIOT!! I HOPE ALL OF OUR PILOTS ARE AS TRAINED AND CAN FLY ANYTHING AND HAVE THE KNOWLEGE THAT YOU HAVE!!!
Dont you find the hyper sonics give your opponents less time going cold? Since the they go so fast, the time you run away from them are shorter as opposed to other missiles. Other missiles will make you go cold forever.
Guess you just entered a hidden feature of DCS, ARK: Modern Day!
That ending was majestic.
Might be interesting, big air to air engagement going on but your mission is to wild weasel the SAM sites. Very chaotic.
100 VS 100? NOT SURE IF POSSIBLE IN DCS.... BUT IF SO IT WOULD BE A AMAZING VIDEO
"When that Battlefield Theme Kicks in!"
That's gonna be a good survival story.
That ending was priceless.
It's a long walk home, Vassily!!!😊😝
Well pilots usually have hand guns I think, and maybe some snacks. But normally pilots, because they cost a lot, get rescued by the rescue teams (e.g. on helicopters).
It's a Russian plane. The onboard survival gun was likely sold by Igor the mechanic to pay for his vodka addiction
Man, those Flankers are beautiful jets. Just not as beautiful as the Tu-160 and the B-1.
Watch out for cars on the walk home Tovarisch.
The call at 15:03 made me jump and turn around!
Great video, love your channel 👏👏👏
Love these larger scale fights!!
This missile signal in the Su-27 is pretty cool, does Gripen or another NATO flighter have something similar
Luckily no roads to cross either. 😁
Beautiful Camouflage on that su-27 ❤
What do you mean walking home. Go find some rusty F14 in an old hanger and get back into the fight.
AIM-174B (air-to-air SM-6) is coming.
The bears will get you eventually, I am convinced.
