- A mastered version of this track is part of my 'Person EP': jogginghouse.b...
This is my first tune with Digitakt and Digitone combined. Of course recorded straight to cassette. Besides two little field recordings, the samples on the Digitakt are simple drones from a Mangrove Eurorack Oscillator, a Korg Wavestation and the Digitone. The video goes in and out of sync due to tape warble, nothing I can do about that.

I'm getting Twin Peaks vibes from this, love it!
Mick Benjamins I hear that a lot :)
If Twin Peaks OST sounds like this then I'm buy the OST today!!
Excellent performance! Lovely vibe as usual! Drifting tape pitch is so soothing for the soul in this perfect digital world. =)
Mattias Holmgren Thanks so much. We all need to drift a little :)
swinging on a sonic hammock....brilliantly relaxed and really dig the accordion or organ or flute lines...Bravo! glad you back :)
Ammanuel I was never reall away :) Thanks so much as always. I really appreciate your kind words. The positive feedback keeps me motivated.

Rosetta Stoned Thanks a lot. 🙌
Beautiful track!👌👍 makes me think of AFX analogue bubble-bath vol 5¿?🎹🎧💫😎
BEAAAAAAUTIFUL!!!!!!
Ave Mcree Thank you!
bliss... thank you.../-/
🙏
Great tune! It's like meditating. Like there was a 11 minute glitch in my timeline where everything stopped and I got this strange feeling of total awareness. :)
CrazyDriverSwed That‘s a beautiful thought. Thank you. Making these tracks is like meditation to me, so I love if they can evoke the same feeling in others.
Great stuff!
MySecretMachine Thanks!
Where are those magical chords coming from?! it's wonderful! that flute also! :O
Thank you! It has been a while but I think that both machines 'shared' the chords. So half samples, half Digitone synth engine. Sorry to not be more precise, I simply don't remember.
Well, that is just lovely...err. I mean COOL. It' really cool. ;-)
Gene Pozniak Thank you, Gene!
Wonderful. Can I ask, which machine is creating those beautiful swells like the one happening at 1:54?
bkvision2 Thank you! It was a bit too long ago for me to remember but I think it's the Digitone.
Cool stuff
e schiller Thanks!
ios app patterning has great abstract samples
Could this be done with only the Digitakt? What exactly is the Digitone's involvement in the signal chain? Sounds amazing! Keep them coming
Is that “flute” sounding thing a sample on the Digitakt or a Digitone sound?
It‘s from the Digitakt.
The bass sound is from DN though, right?
How, a marantz
Love it - is the DN controlling the DK or vice versa?
Kimble McCann No, they are just synced, besided that, each is doing its own thing.
Jogging House Screw turkey, this Thanksgiving I wanna Digitone!
hey those nice bass stabs don't play within the 64 stepst don't they? how did you program that? :O It sounds gorgeous!
oldmageuse Thanks. You can this very easily with parameter locks.
@@JoggingHouse Thanks!
I like this and say that to, this like Twin Peaks, but how you do that. :) this like Twin Peaks dj live mix. :)
What kind of mixing - if any - is done after transferring the tape-record into the computer?
Thomas Boesgaard Some EQing.
Classic :)
Ammanuel :)
@@JoggingHouse yes :) this one ( Stay 2018) is growing on me.
Nice work. I assume the Digitakt is controlling the Digitone via MIDI sync? Did you pre-program the sequences on each machine separately or is the Digitone just locked to the Digitakt? I have an A4 + Digitakt + Eurorack, and need to figure how they will all sync up in which order. May add a Digitone someday if I feel it will add a useful layer. Thanks.
The Digitakt is sending midi clock and Digitone follows it. But that is all. There is now controlling between the devices going in.
@@JoggingHouse Thanks, I will try it out with A4 and Digitakt.
Is what we hear in the video the tape playback post-recording and overdubbed onto the video? Or is audio being live captured from a 3 head tape deck as the audio/video is simultaneously recording? Lovely stuff btw.
Thank you. It is post recording. I record only to tape, rewind and record that into the computer to match it with the video.
Thanks for the reply! Out of interest, do you ever use the 3 head 'live' monitoring from tape when composing? I've always been curious to know if it would be possible to have a kind of a tape effect running in this way?
Alex Tristram I don‘t do that. There is a delay between input and taped output. And it is too long for me. In theory you can do it but it most likely won‘t be a lot of fun. You can use a three head recorder as a tape delay when hooked up to a mixer, though.
What is the meaning of all these tapes?
gusisagreatname Promotion
What bpm do usually run on?
Tobias Lynn It varies. Between 80 and 100 BPM.
Jogging House yeah im usually around 80-90 but have occasionally dropped down 60ish.. as always nice work matey 👌
Focus on the moment...
Jeez oO Indeed.
wait, which medium was this recorded to?
Braunld :)
It's interesting that nearly everyone I see who has both the digitakt and the digitone machines always puts the digitakt to the left and the digitone to the right.
Peace ✌️ out people 🌍
Surrinder J It kinda makes sense to me to have the four track select buttons on the most right and keep the trigs more or less together.
It's only natural!! Lol I wish I could have them!
What is that wondrous tape machine? Why does it warble? Is it a tape echo thing?
Amazing track BTW
Thank you! It‘s just a regular cassette recorder, no echo or other special device. All tape machines warble a bit. Not much, just enough to make audio and video drift out of sync.
sexy
Gotta be :)
