I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If I ever have the opportunity to meet Darius I’d love to buy him a beer and shoot the breeze for 1/2 an hour or so. No photo needed just the privilege of his company. What a legend .
True living legend
Aw! Love this comment! ✋✋
More like a whiny joke...
Love DR! ❤
@@pctrader841your a whiny joke if you ain't got nothing nice to say you know the rest keep that hate to yourself man no sense in it there's enough hate in this world I hope whatever is troubling you subsides man don't b inf others down cuz of your bitterness God Bless you sir
Anyone who grew up in the 90s and did not like Hootie and the blowfish needs to hear this version of this song. Darius was and still is one of the greatest singer/song writers of our generation. Amazing
Their nickname in the 90s, was "Hooter and the Blowjob". I never cared for his style; now I can't stand that whiny fool and his music after the way that he disrespected the very state that helped him succeed in his career. Then, recently, he was arrested on a drunk driving charge here in Tennessee. That asshole could have killed someone that night! He's nothing but a selfish clown and a joke.
@@pctrader841 you truly need help man just a straight up hater and troll
I absolutely agree with you. Everytime I hear this song, it brings tears to my eyes.
Anyone who doesn't like Hootie never listened to them. They were amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️
i was thinking you cant beat the original.
Regardless of it's solo, with Hootie, or with a group of friends around a campfire. True American artist. Appreciate his talent.
True.. I never liked their music. But he's always had such a good voice.
That was UHHMAZZZZING!!!
Crying at 10 am on my couch was not on my bingo card today. I always think of my dad when I hear this song. He always loved it.
❤
❤
As a father of a 3 year old little girl, this comment made me tear up a little.
@@nickcurole8024 I’m sorry! Your daughter is lucky to have you ♥️
🤗♥️
Truly a one of a kind voice. This song never gets old.
Song is 30 years old and still hits like the first time I heard it... Darius has always had a place in my music rotation..
I’m sorry sir, you must be mistaken. There’s no way this song is thirty yea… checks notes… oh man… that means I’m old.
@@dougmorgan6819 here, take my cane sir.. I got you..
@@dougmorgan6819I guess that means I'm old too. Never thought it was 30 years old. He's still got it.
@@dougmorgan6819 Not old, Sir. Just well life'ed seasoned...
Best country song that wasn’t a country song….. Love it!
actually it is....he said he wrote it as a country song...mark wanted to rock it out and that version is on the record....compromise
How does this not have millions of views already. This was amazing!
Fantastic!!!! I agree with ya !
His voice is great because he feels the words he’s singing and the emotion is raw and true.
I agree completely. There are great singers who hit every note right but you don’t feel it. Darius has a gorgeous voice and knows how to sing so that the listener feels the song.
Imagine being born with that voice lol .... that is just sweet harmony plus !
Most people probably never even realize they have it.
This man has more talent in his little finger than most artist these days!❣️
This song is his testimony to something in his life❤
It's about him.
No shit
Remember when my parents bought Cracked Rear View out of the Columbia House catalogue back in the day. Timeless voice on Darius
This man showed have been nominated many times over.He is so much better than most who have taken home awards and much more deserving.❤
I have loved Darius's sound since I was a teenager in SoCal. He is still amazing as my middle age ass sits in Florida. Amazing artist!!!
Wish my middle aged Ass was sitting in Florida! ❤😂 thought about it many times ?! Guess I'm not the only one ? What part?

I have relatives in Lakeland
Haven't seen them in years
@@kimmyray1234 you should go visit them. Lakeland is beautiful.
Love this mans whole career from Hootie to Darius. dude you rule
Darius,s voice....wow.hes some singer.
This man’s music has lived in my life for decades. Extremely talented artist.
Saw Hootie when they opened up for Toad the Wet Sprocket in 1995. They were just starting to become popular. Toad was my fav band so I was front & center & got backstage passes & met all the blowfish, along with the Toad guys. Sadly, Darius wasn’t there. But he was right in front of me when he sang this song, which was my fav at the time. Still have it on my phone today.
hello friend, how are you doing today
I heard he went "country ". Excellent song and voice, I love this.
He has become country for a while now, more than 15 years.
@@NellieKAdaba It makes sense: he did write a lot of songs with a wee twang! I'm excited he's still creating music!
Absolutely love your voice ❤️ beautiful
One of the only artists out there today who sounds better live but am i the only one who thinks this man sounds better than he did in the 99's?
In the 99's? Umm...yes, he sounds good
Beautiful song
No lie...loved this song for 30 years and NEVER knew Stipe was mentioned in the first verse of all places😂
I have always Loved his voice!! 💜💜
I met Darius through his voice, this song, and a gang named Hootie in a computer class in 93. A bunch of young black kids listening to a love song over a country twang. It wasn't the cool thing to do, but my 15 yr old self was in instant love. 30 years later and my 45 yr old self is thanking that kid for not moving along with the crowd.
I think I love Darius 1994 or 1995. I'm 43 now.
This is the absolute best cover of this song. Guy slayed this.
How is it a Cover when it's his song to begin with?
This is the OG bro
I think he's being sarcastic..
Love Darius! What a great true AMERICAN and amazing artist!
This song and “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” always pulls on my heartstrings.
This is a story every man and woman could understand. It's music like this that brings people together.
Love this guy! Thank you for being a part of my life-
Thank you. Please do not stop singin.😊
Saw him almost 30 years ago in a small venue in Austin. His music keeps getting better and better. Easily one of my favorite artists of all time.
Even after all these years, this is still a hell of a song, man. Just a hell of a song.
Love love love this man his music his voice . Gets me every time 🥲🥰 legend ! though most people still say who when i mention Darius or Hootie here in Scotland! X

D, I love every version of this song wether it be early years with the band, or when you are singing it with your country band but THIS version hits different. Loved you since the Carolina days and will continue. My goodnes how grateful we are to hear you sing.
Darius has a voice like no other. I hope people realize that he sings from his heart! Loved him with Hootie, still loving him in country music. He could sing anything and sound great! ❤❤❤
He is one of the greatest singers in my lifetime. I remember when I first heard his voice I was a target and I was going to buy a cassette and I heard him sing and I bought Hootie and the blowfish first album and I was a huge fan of his ever since then. This song is one of my favorite songs and I love it still today. I remember going home and I heard it and I just cried because it was so beautiful
My god that voice
His music touches every year of my 47 years.
Just brought me back to the 90s
God, I love that violin solo.
Agree!
One of my favorites 👍

I was born at the end of 1991, with Hootie, I have these old memories, some of the oldest moment's I remember as a very young kid were jamming to hootie. Long before the divorce and my dad moving across the country. Nostalgia, I love it. Simpler times.
His voice is amazing 😊
The very first time I heard Hootie back in the 80s I told my friends "They gotta do country. They're a country band and don't even know it." I was so happy when Darius did.
i know wagon wheel was his first step into country, but this feels more country than anything else he's done. while the studio musicians are cool, I would have loved this more if it was other country artists with him like they used to do in the 70's with the outlaw country artists.
Can't really put a finger on what I love about this song but definitely Darius's voice comes tops...
What a legend! Amazing voice, incredible career. Love hootie and the blowfish and solo he's is also something else. His voice it's magic.
There is nothing more in my life than I want to just sit around a campfire with a guitar and jam tunes with a nice buzz.
Love, love, love this guy! Wishing the BEST for you. Take care.
Oh my goodness!!! This is so amazingly good. I saw Hootie and the Blowfish back in the 80’s when I was in High School and my older Brother was going to MS State. He had me come down and treated me to their concert. Great memories!!
What an incredible version of this song. Darius’s voice brings me right back to high school days…
He has such an incredible, iconic voice. He really pulls you into the story behind the song.
WOW! Great song, beautiful version.
Thanks ❤❤❤❤
As soon as you hear that voice you know it's Darius. True American treasure and just wholesome and down to earth as you can be.
LOVE his voice! I miss Hootie!
This man is one of the most amazing voices
Loved that song and the singer for so long
Did this just happen? If so, welcome back, Darius!
Please release this song and other campfire sessions as an album or just singles. Absolutely love this version! Just Incredible..

Very special performance, love it
Darius Rucker. Damn. Tears are coming hearing his soul singing right there
I have not watched it yet, but I thank you, Darius. She is missed yet. Thank you.
My favorite part is around 2:23 where the camera pans away and you can see Darius smile...it says "yep I've nailed it and I remember this feeling!" Brought it all back to they Hootie days. Excellent cal back!
Darius Rucker and Hootie and the Blowfish Man this music just resonates with my soul ❤❤❤❤❤
I can’t wait I’m going to see these guys live in concert really soon

The song the the bruised soul needs to hear. Thank you
Hootie!
Beautiful.
Love this song as much as I did when I was a kid. I only understood the melody then, now I understand the lyrics and appreciate the whole thing.
Brings back great Hootie & the Blowfish memories. Hootie ended way way too soon. What a great song!
so talented thanks for the master piece Darius.
Wow I love this so much ❤
Cracked rear view remains one of my favorite (if not my favorite) albums to this day. Every time I listen to that album or any one of those songs I am immediately transported back to those days, lots of fond memories. Would love to shake Darius hand and thank him one day.

Hang in there Darius. ❤❤❤
