    Do your asf or mice have any trouble getting food through the 1/4 in mesh?

  • @ronjones9012
    @ronjones9012 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I heard that they can chew through the 1/4 inch hardware cloth because it isnt as strong as the 1/2 inch. Have you ever run into that problem? Another reputable youtuber mentioned it and theres not alot of info out there

    • @CDExotics
      @CDExotics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, none of mine have chewed through the 1/4”. My lines aren’t bad chewers though so a line that chews a lot may be able to do that

    Hi, I'm just starting out this year breeding Ball Pythons. I was thinking about breeding ASFs. Where can i buy live ASFs ? Love your videos, lots of great info. Loura

    • @CDExotics
      @CDExotics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You cannot ship live ASF so you will just have to look locally in your area

    Find myself coming back to this video pretty often so I think I’m going to go for the same build this time. Have you had any issues with chew outs? I’ve heard other people having problems with ASFs chewing through everything. None of mine have, however, just wondering if you’ve had similar experiences?

      Mine have nibbled a tiny bit on the black cement tubs but I have zero issues with the reptile basics tubs

      Thanks :) you could do it as long as you don’t overcrowd them and make sure you are cleaning on a good schedule.

    Hi Courtney! I'm in the process of building a second asf rack. I was wondering how you are liking the reptile basics tubs in your 3 wide rack after running it for a bit now?

    • @CDExotics
      @CDExotics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They work well for 1.3 colonies, no chew outs or issues. I am in the process of switching all my rats over to the ARS 50 tubs though so I will be putting ASF colonies in that instead to keep everything uniform. Will just be running larger colonies

    • @jaybirdfpv5034
      @jaybirdfpv5034 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CDExotics ok thanks Courtney! I'm gunna go with a 50/50 rack for now. 4 lvls with the reptile basics 23L I believe they are, and 4 lvls of the tubs I'm asking about. Should be good for now. I appreciate your fast response, and love seeing what you've been doing. Like the build videos, and everything else. 👌

      @@CDExotics Have you made the switch to the ARS 5032 tub for your ASF colonies? If so how is it working out, do they reach the food okay? Im fixing to start my ASF journey and Im looking to build my first rack and not wanting to do concrete tubs. Im leaning towards the 5032 or the mice tubs ARS 2020. Thanks for any input

    Im wondering what you meant by 25 1/4" (2) level assembly and same with the 19 1/2" (4) level assembly?

    • @ezexotics7657
      @ezexotics7657 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Level assembly is referring to the panels…4 across & 2 front & back

    Do you have issues with them chewing through tubs? If so, how do you deal with it? If not, how do you prevent it?

    • @CDExotics
      @CDExotics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They don’t chew through the reptile basics tubs, they are really sturdy tubs and I make sure that they fit tight to the mesh

    • @CDExotics

      Yes I use these for my breeding colonies, I do 1.3 or occasionally 1.2 in them

      I definitely wouldn’t do more than 1.3, once you get babies in there it gets a bit tight if they all had a litter at once

    Soft fur and rats bite you through the wire and are aggressive. Mice are friendly never been bit by mice.

      My rats or ASF don’t bite through the wire. Unless you have very poor lines of rats they are typically not aggressive at all
