In my opinion your videos are what this hobby is all about. Build your own racks, incubators, rat grow outs until you'r snakes can pay for the fancy Freedom Breeder stuff. You do a great job as well so that's a plus. My only complaint is I'm jealous that you can find PVC board where you are at, I live in the people's republic of California so they don't sell it anywhere and if you run into someone who has a supplier for some reason they won't tell you where they get it, weird right! Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much!! I love DIY but I love how ARS looks and can’t wait for the day that I can afford them. Right now I would rather have fancy snakes in my DIY racks than no snakes in a fancy rack though :)
amazing stuff you go girl. love the videos and how much i learn. great idea and i really liked seeing all the ways you do things. big help for my next rack.
Thank you so much for sharing that label, you are the only person on TH-cam who actually shares where to get PVC board. That stuff is like gold to snake keepers😂 I don't know why it's so hard to obtain in some places. All of the racks I've built are 1/2" melamine and they are way to heavy and after a while the shelves start to warp from the condensation making it really difficult to slide some of the tubs. I swear if I actually find a place to get PVC I'll buy a pallet.
I love watching your diy builds thanks for sharing I bought my first rack from reptile basics the ve 6 same rack u just built for a quarter of the price I so cool now I'm gonna build one also wish I would do a fb70 rack for adult females so I can learn from u on that one also lol
HI CD exotics. We would love to see you guys on how to set up the heating system on the hatchlings racks or a tutorial on how to set up a heating system on a rack. Thanks :)
Looks great! How easily does the pvc cut with the circular saw compared to melamine or plywood? I'm looking at a mini track saw system or just buying a guide clamp for my circular saw. Thanks!
Found black for a reasonable price. Need to add tax but free shipping. On the left under "Select a Product Type" find PVC Sheet (108) then select dimensions. harborsales.net/Home/ProductSearchResults.aspx?quickSearch=pvc+sheet
Great video and I've learned a lot from you. What router bit do you use when routing out for the heat tape? This is the part I've been struggling with the most .
I keep seeing conflicting information on different videos so maybe you can clear it up for me. I currently don’t own a snake yet but my kids and I are planning on getting some after Xmas so going to build a rack .. but I want something that can evolve with the snake .. what size tubs for what size snakes is where I’m stuck . Any info would definitely help thank you
@@CDExotics ah that is what i was thinking, just wasn't if it was just forgotten to be written or what. thank you for the response! curiousity from unanswered questions would have eaten me alive lol.
Wish I could like this more than once. Thank you so much Courtney

I have 1 rack from melamine and it is sooo heavy! I love the pvc, luckily I live near the beach and have 2 Home Depot’s that stock it
The chemicals used to make it are sourced from overseas
Great video Courtney!! Great job on the rack!!
Thanks! I’m pretty happy with how it turned out
All I can say is well done!

HI CD exotics. We would love to see you guys on how to set up the heating system on the hatchlings racks or a tutorial on how to set up a heating system on a rack. Thanks :)
I should be able to do that in a few weeks, planning on order some heat and need to run it in my other hatchling rack
@@CDExotics awesome!! :)
Excellent job!
Great info
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Looks great!

Cuts very easy. I just clamp a straight board to the sheet as a guide for the saw
@@CDExotics Perfect, thank you! :)

Oh wow, thanks for the link! I might have to contact the company, there's several options and I'd hate to buy the wrong one!
Great video and I've learned a lot from you. What router bit do you use when routing out for the heat tape? This is the part I've been struggling with the most .
I can’t remember which one I got but it’s just a basic bit with a little bit of a beveled edge on it
Where are you putting your thermostat probes?
How long are the legs so I know what length to cut them I mentioned the width but did not say what the length is ?
What size heat tape did you use for the large tubs? I'm planning to house corn snakes in this rack. Also, did you not put a back on it?
It has a back. I use 4” heat tape for my match king and grow out tubs and 6” heat tape for my adults
Does the wood that's exposed by router not pose a burning threat when in direct contact with heat tape??
There is no wood exposed, these are pvc racks

I use the 11 qt tubs up to about 700 grams and then I bump mine up to the fb40 tubs
Do you put something on the back as a stopper? I'd be worried that I'm not paying attention one day and shove it too far.
Yes there is a back on it
Hey CD exotics. What Home Depot are you buying this at. If I know the store, im going to see if I purchase and have shipped to a store near me. Thanks
Typically you can’t do ship to store with these sheets
@@CDExotics okay I just thought it was worth a shot. Thanks a bunch and great video.
what is the length of the legs? or was that left open for more of the builder's interpretation on how tall they want the rack itself to be?
It depends on how many levels you do or how much space you want left under the bottom shelf
@@CDExotics ah that is what i was thinking, just wasn't if it was just forgotten to be written or what. thank you for the response! curiousity from unanswered questions would have eaten me alive lol.
that's wonderful⊙▂⊙
Can you show the dividers you use & routing your tape.
What size quart tub did u use
These are reptile basics tubs. This rack will work for the 8 qt, 11 qt and 23 qt tubs from them
How much per sheet?
$78 per sheet at Home Depot, the rack costs $100 without tubs or casters to build and you end up up with a couple extra shelves for the next build
