    So the Arcade game Bosconian (1981) was the inspiration for the C64 game Survivor (1983). It was one of my favourite games back then, and I thought it was original.

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's great to know regarding Survivor, I don't think I've played that so I appreciate your insight and will check it out. I first played Bosconian at a Kroger grocery store in the early 80's, I was about 13 at the time. I loved going to the store with Mom just so I could beg her for $0.50 to play a few games of Bosconian. Those were some magical times!

    if you prefer exfat over ext4 to copy roms without the network, it can be done from the menu es>developer>formation share partition. Note however that exfat and fat32 is not good for data integrity in case of bad shutdown.

      Thank you very much for this information Nicolas! You guys have done an awesome job with Batocera and the OGS build, it plays extremely well! If you don't mind me asking, do you know if there is a fix for the update issue in the works? I tried a clean install of Batocera, clicked the update/apply and Batocera wouldn't boot after that. I did mention the issue here: forum.batocera.org/d/5423-odroid-go-super-update-issue/2

      I tried the exfat option but the file system wasn't readable in Windows. However, I did go into DiskGenius and re-format the share partition as FAT32, booted from Batocera and it re-created the sub folders. I understand that this isn't the most reliable method given the age of the file system, but I'm working on an update video and want to double-check with you that this is a sound approach to making the game partition readable in Windows? Of course, I'll stress that the developers don't recommend using exfat or fat32 as neither file system handles data integrity very well.

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did try the update and it downloaded, then I applied it. It sat on the Batocera logo screen for over an hour. I then just powered it off/back on and the update did work, it just never rebooted once it had completed. Just wanted to mention it incase it's helpful.

Though, on my unit I've got the screensaver setup which is pretty cool while it's plugged in, the video snaps will kick-in and if you see a random game you'd like to play just press the start button. I bought mine knowing that I would probably do a lot of modifications to get it up to snuff but honestly, this is so close to being the perfect RK3326 device right out of the box and at this price point, there's no beating it.
      The more I interact with it, the more I like it. With improved stereo speakers, built in wifi and a better d-pad it would without a doubt be my go-to handheld. For now the RG351m still has it slightly beat in my collection (for various, mostly subjective reasons) but honestly? If the dpad is my only serious complaint and for the 80 bucks I paid, that's still come a long, long way from the old Dingoo days and I think most people would be happy with it.
      The dpad is still leaps and bounds better than the one on the RP2 :D

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@btango7029 Agree, built-in WiFi, Stereo speakers, dpad (and better quality sticks) would have made this a near-perfect device. If they were shift to the S90M chipset, it would be a perfect handheld that could smoothly play anything up to DC. As it is now, it's pretty darn close. Love the 351M as well, but appreciate the larger screen on the OGS. This is why I can never answer "which device should I get"... too many great options available these days. The first device I ever bought was the A320 (OpenDingux), it got me hooked on this stuff!
