It was really nice of you to say thank you to the less mentioned aviation workers, the de-icer guy, fuellers and the bag handlers. You're so right, nail on the head. Without these hardworking people, we wouldn't be flying anywhere.
Support staff mean everything to an airport. I know that Dallas Fort Worth Airport (DFW) has so many staff that they outnumber the populations of small towns near and around the airport. Seriously. The airports is a major stopping point for people crossing the country. When British Airways resumed A380 service earlier this year, they chose DFW as the stopping point. It has given the airport security small problems: the guards have to drive around the runways frequently to keep photographers and bloggers away. They simply access British Airways' website so they know when the A380 comes/goes and are at the runway fence all the time. I would NOT want to be within even 20 meters of the runway when the A380 takes off. The jet blast from the engines can throw a pickup truck in the air!
I always enjoy your reviews Jeb but I especially appreciated your thoughtful shoutout to the ground crews today. They DO keep us flying safely & most people don’t even give all that hard work a second thought. Bravo!
Swiss definitely has potential. Although they might have some very small flaws I think their still one of the best airlines in Europe without a doubt. Thinks a lot for the great video Jeb and cya in the sky!👍🇨🇭🛫
As a former de-icer and fueler, when we de-ice, once you push back 10ft, in order for us to get the truck in, you technically have departed and the de-icing won't cause a "delay".
Man, Jeb. You’ve got the best job in the world, traveling all over the world on all of these awesome planes and airlines. Hope to be just like you one day.
I flew Swiss Air from Zurich to Bangkok back in April 2021 in Business. It was my first time in Swiss Air long haul, and even though the massive and famous lounge in Zurich Airport was basically dead (no food/drink service, so we just literally just sat down and looked at each other? I did take a lot of the Soeder mini hand creams from the bathroom… haha). Had some pandemic related issues getting ON the flight because of documentation mix ups that were common back then, but we were finally bussed onto the plane a few minutes before the doors closed. The flight itself was fantastic and it was a lovely farewell to Switzerland after being there for 6 months. The cabin was empty, but I didn’t shift to the thrown seat cos I like having an empty seat next to me to dump all my stuff. The service was very friendly, the food was fantastic and the Swiss wines were a treat. The IFE was enough to keep me entertained for that long overnight flight - even ordered the fantastic tomato soup off the snack menu for a late night snack.
I gotta love Swiss airlines. Although their A330 economy cabin is outdated, some of my best flights were on the Swiss A330, and I really want to try their 777 sometime.
I flew them once on their cute little Avro jets between Switzerland and Germany once or twice. They're a good airline but landing in Zurich is a mixed bag. It was heartbreaking looking out and seeing the remnants of Swiss Air. It was an overwhelming sea of red and white planes that were either sold off cheap or scrapped. My father still blames the management for the fall of the airline. Probably because of contract agreements with them, the airline Sabena also collapsed with Swiss Air. A sad day in aviation. And it didn't help that tragically, it happened only months after Sept. 11...
As a Swiss guy I never went to the lounge in GVA, and it's my home airport x) Now that I've finished the video, I can tell that yes Zurich is far more better than Geneva airport but that the same in every things in Switzerland... The Swiss-German get all the fancy new thing and us we just recycle the old stuff they don't want 🤷♂
Hello from Lausanne! I do agree that we don’t get as great things as the Swiss-Germans. But at the end of the day, it’s still not bad at all (pretty neat, even!), in my personal opinion and expert. And I must be one of the rare persons who prefers GVA airport rather than ZRH airport (which is a nice airport nonetheless)… 😅
Swiss is a good treat over the Atlantic...had the pleasure several times in C...but long before I became a frequent flyer and a LH SEN I earned my bucks during my studies at the VIE airport by loading and unloading planes with luggage and freight 😃 was a well paid but pretty sweaty job...also helped to turn into an airline nerd...
We did Cleveland-Chicago-Zurich-Dubai and back on Swiss several years ago. 2 young kids in tow during Christmas. We were in Swiss economy on a combination of A330 and A340. Loved them. We were booked into a small mini cabin just behind business for all legs. Felt like something special.
Swiss is definitely the best European Airline. After a Long time of pandemic they are not on the same level since before. I am optimistic for the future! The service and food in the Lounges, the First and Business is very very Good!
I flew Swiss from SIN to ZRH in Feb 2022, all said, the flight was great. The seat while narrower than SQ's was still plenty comfortable for a business class offering. Catering was good.
Was just in Geneva for the first time earlier this month for work--it was my first international trip in over a decade and I had such a good time. Loved the international terminal.
Since I am in Economy on most flights, United has been my preferred airline. As a UA Gold or Platinum the E+ section is usually not full. Extra room is appreciated on long hauls. For those times I was upgraded, ANY airline is a treat!
My favorite Star Alliance carrier to Europe is Lufthansa. I have siblings in Zurich and Stockholm and I’m in L.A. The flights are long so outbound, it’s always Lufthansa and a 2.5 hour layover in FRA so I can enjoy the amenities of a shower and sit down lunch in the separate First Class Terminal so as to arrive fresh when I’m picked up. Back to L.A., it’s always either Swiss or SAS nonstop (depending which sibling I’m visiting) because I just want to get home to my own bed straight away. 👍🏻😉
I generally fly to Europe out of LAX and the long flights give a great experience in most any business class. Turkish is my #1, then Austrian and Swiss tied for #2. Thanks for another nice review, Jeb.
Great video again Jeb! You are really unlike a lot of flight reviewers. You are always grateful for what you have received and not complain about the smallest little things. This is why you are my favourite reviewer. I hope you fly Singapore Airlines soon! Their regional business class product on their 787-10s and A350s are worth the money!
Back in july last year I flew from Zurich to JFK and it was amazing! Many empty seats due to covid, food was amazing for economy passenger! Definitely my favorite for flying for my first time ever!
SWISS's business class is definitely lovely and almost the best among the ones I have flown. The last time I flew it was on its A340-300 on Zurich - Hong Kong in Aug 2020 at the height of the first COVID wave when the world still didn't know what it was really. The flight was practically empty. There were at most 30 passengers on the flight, in which 5 were in business class. I got one of those premium private seats but there was no need to pay extra. The flight was originally scheduled with 777-300ER, in which they charge extra for those seats, but when the flight schedule changed and the equipment was changed to A340, they did not charge extra for those seats any more. The cheese and the cappuccino on board were amazing. The FAs were very attentive. It's the only time I asked for extra food during a regular meal on a plane. They provided a full meal with full services even during the height of COVID, which was much appreciated.
Based on what Jeb mentioned, this sounds like they are beginning to up-charge for certain business class seats? Disgusting if so. The airlines only know which seats are better because of passenger reviews. They should down-charge for some of the crappy seats. I haven't seen an up-charge on any other carriers and I've booked two business class trips recently.
@@Originalman144 My guess is that LX has always been charging extra for those "better" seats, but somehow not doing that on the older A340-300 aircraft, because, as I mentioned, they were charging for those seat on my flight back in 2020 as well when it was scheduled with the 77W, just that it was dropped when they switched the equipment to the 340. In any case, I would fly LX long range business class any time.
Thanks for the shouout to us rampies. I work at PER and BME and we are on and in those planes in almost all conditions. Not always a fun time but certainly a unique view we get
As a previous frequent Lufthansa flyer, your experience is spot on. There’s no real discernible difference between the lounges. Sometimes the food offering is slightly better in the Senator lounge, but the only tangible benefit I’ve found is that the Senator lounge can be lees busy sometimes.
I really like you reports, not too long and you are so positive. I worked for Swissport during my time as a student, I know how hard work the loading of luggage is. If it is 30 Celsius, the Tarmac can reach more than 40. All the beste to you !
Forget about the planes Jeb, we need a watches channel for your personal collection too! That meteorite dial GMT master 2 is 🔥.. who is your AD and do they need more customers? 😂
As a Canadian living in Air Canada's main hub (Montreal). I'd have to say Air Canada is my favourite Star Alliance Carrier. I've flown Delta most my life though. Hopping on United for the first time in 3 weeks to fly to HNL. Looking forward to the experience.
The only European airlines that I’ve flown on are Air France and KLM. Thanks for letting all of us know how good Swiss is! I’m definitely impressed with the airline.
This is great! I'm trying British Airways new Business Class this month between NY and Geneva, can't wait to compare notes. As always, thanks for the inspiration Jeb!
Thanks for the review Jeb. I'm flying LX22 in business June 2023 (my outbound is SQ25 to FRA). I'm excited about the food! I will say the IFE really looks dated but that certainly isn't a deal breaker. This route happens to begin in Switzerland for you but I feel like all of your videos have Swiss easter eggs...most people saw that Pinot Noir, I saw the Pepsi....bezel;)!
I can t believe they served u the main course in that state with gravy dripping off the sides in biz ! 🧐🇨🇭 good news, i didn t know gva jfk had started again post cv19 🥳🥳
love how you filmed all the buildings with the amazing swiss brand and then flex on us with your pepsi GMT, great taste in watches and airline my friend :)
LX, LH and OS are part of the same family - you will see the same type of lounge set-up where the "nicer" lounge is next to the other lounge, with a kitchen in between, and really no difference in anything, except exclusivity of entry requirements.
Another nice video review of an airline I would hopefully fly on in the future and fly with them in business or first class. I like how you thanked and acknowledged all the other airport workers. I know it is your video, but if I made a video, I would say baggage loaders and unloaders instead of throwers even though that is what some may do 😂.
Thank you, Jeb! You give a first class experience to us, the fans. I’m very proud to work for an industry leading fractional jet ownership provider, which you have flown on and reviewed. Cheers from KCGF!
I flew frequently through Germany & Switzerland long before COVID-19 and my experience was that the Senator Lounge was effectively identical to the regular Business Class lounge, if sometimes a bit less crowded. (Lufthansa & Swiss are sister airlines in the Star Alliance, along with Austrian).
I’ve watched a few of you videos now and for the price of business class, I find it unacceptable the airlines charge for the Internet service! Though most business class passengers use their miles to get the upgrade, mostly the money spent should still get you free Internet access 😏just my opinion 🤷🏽♂️‼️ Also the space looked extremely understated as far as the aesthetics. Maybe for an upgrade using miles I might do it but paying out of pocket for this airlines business class wouldn’t even enter my mind thanks to your review!
When I went to Switzerland in '19, we flew into Geneva. Not with Swiss airlines though. We flew back to the USA(Chicago) from Zurich with Swiss Airlines. Good airline, they sure don't want you waiting in the galleys or the isle just to use the lavatory. Flight attendants were really strict about that.
Waiting for a minute or two - as one person, should not be an issue. I could see if 2-4 people were waiting as that creates a crowd. But walking back and forth to your seat and someone else keeps beating you into the lavatory is not a sensible process.
Geneva is a destination that's somewhat lacking in transatlantic services. Currently, all it gets insofar as transatlantics are this flight and a few United flights (with 767s to EWR and IAD).
I appreciate your kindness for the hard workers in airports and on flights, not many would take the time to say thank you to them.
As a ramp worker, it makes me feel good getting that recognition. Thank you Jeb!
Definitely appreciate the shoutout Jeb, as always!
This mans commentary and kindness is very heartwarming. Genuinely
I have never flown in first or business class but after watching your videos I feel like I have. Thanks for lifting the veil for me!
