I'm just an economy pleb, but Delta will always be my number one for several reasons, and number 1 being service. One time on a flight from ATL-MIA we got stuck waiting for a parking spot due to a severe tropical storm that had passed and severely backed up everything in MIA that day. We were on the ground for 3 hours and all throughout the captain and crew were keeping us updated as well as handing out all the snacks they had to those who wanted them. Another scenario was that our plane got delayed somewhere else and thus they had to get a new plane, call two pilots (from their home), at 12am, which they showed up very promptly. 7:20 I used to work for an Internet Service Provider, a long time ago and far away. We had a "System Status" page that we systems administrators tried to keep up to date with honest information, but the Operations Manager didn't like that, fearing that, at the very least, it "makes us look bad", or, worse, could even somehow be a cause for one of our customers to sue us over a service interruption. You nailed it on what you said about the service. I began flying with delta as a frequent flier since 2018. After pandemic I noticed so much has changed with the crew and how they go about providing service.
When I flew back from Afghanistan I flew DELTA economy plus (upgraded) from Amsterdam to Burbank through Seattle. They knew exactly who I was, gave me a card, upgrade meal, consistently came back to check on me. Excellent service for a US carrier. I flew DELTA 1 on my way out of LA to my next assignment. I flew Delta from LAX to JFK in late June and the cabin pressurising system had some bugs, the captain explained the situation in a calm and simple manner and I thought that was great work on his part.
I agree . Just flew this config on a 767-400 a couple hours ago (first class/Delta One), and first thing I liked compared to similar product from other US carriers was the color pallet.
Another fantastic video Jeb! Last week I fles ATL-LAS_JFK in D1 on the 767-400ER, and let me tell you, even though we had Delta One, the service was bare bones too. Those Flight Fuel boxes are really getting old...
But you must remember employees are needed to Make Fresh Food. All airlines are short employees and dont wanna pay more for Quality employees. So the food will be the last thing to come back, Staffing is an issue with all employers now.
My first ever flight into the USA was with Delta to Norfolk via Cincinnati and return via Atlanta to the UK. I’ve flown with Continental and USAWays this was late 1990s. Delta was my favourite carrier.
What I don't understand is people will complain about Delta's FC/Delta One service, but a week out (before the Diamond/Platinum upgrade window opens) those cabins are still full. I am Platinum Medallion, but it was hard for me to justify DL's FC/D1 prices pre-COVID, even more so now. I really don't feel much sympathy for people who keep wasting their money on DL's "premium" service thinking it will change despite all the signs that it's still lackluster. As for me, I'll stick to the main cabin and get my nearly automatic Comfort+ upgrades. Outside of no food for purchase, it's nearly back to pre-COVID levels back there in terms of service. And hey, if I luck into first-class/Delta One, I can't complain about those snack boxes because it's at least more than I would have gotten for the seat I purchased in the back.
I have loved Delta all my life (76 years), back to the days the big sign at ATL only read "FLY DELTA". I also well remember the day it changed to "FLY DELTA JETS"! Back then, Eastern was second choice, mostly if Delta did not fly to the destination. Last choice was US Air (only if I absolutely had to)!
This video brings great memories. My first step on American soil was in Seatac airport where I arrived as an international student. I remember the weird feelingI got when I realized I am 10,000 miles far from my home country. I prefer Seattle And it’s airport over any other city and airport in USA.
I think delta has the best products out of all the USA airlines , I like their business class service and the economy class on international flights ! Happy flying guys
I always enjoy your videos! Wife and I are flying Delta One in November on return trip from CDG->JFK on an A330-900neo. It's weird because I didn't think the A330-900s were flying out of CDG, only AMS etc. Looking forward to the flight regardless. Safe travels!
Jeb just starting to watch the video, but thank you for postponing yesterday in Remembrance 9/11! I'm a vet, son of an 30 yr AF vet, grandson of a vet that lost his leg in France '44. As a retired airline pilot, from upstate NY and have stood on the top of the Towers back in the 70s...9/11 still brings up such emotions, like so many of us!
Their communication when it comes to delays is really awesome. I remember a flight years ago, where there was some technical issue. As it was a smaller plane, the captain himself came out of the cockpit, stood at the front end of the aisle, grabbed a microphone and started to explain, using analogies to car parts that people are likely more familiar with than most would be with aircraft systems. Or on another occasion, were boarding was delayed because the crew wasn't there yet. The gate agent announced that the crew was to come in on another flight which was delayed, so at the moment they were expecting to push back about 10 minutes delayed. His closing words were "I wish we could blame it on our competitors, but the delayed flight they are on is one of ours. So I guess it's on us today". Needless to say, everyone around burst out laughing.
Another solid report, Jeb. Thank you! I noticed you constantly said how 'grateful' you were. It's a guess, but I think you're trying to pre-empt those annoying Karens who have nothing better to say except "First World Problem!" when you point out an issue. My gratuitous advice from one who was born and lived in developing countries is: ignore the Karens! There are NO such things as First World Problems. There are merely 'problems' that have to be addressed no matter where in the world you live or whatever you're doing. Karens who constantly chime "First World Problems" are a hindrance to solutions because while they think they're injecting a sense of proportion, what they're really doing is promoting an acceptance of utter mediocrity. You are totally correct in pointing out anything that doesn't work or is substandard because acknowledging a problem is the first step to fixing it. Karens just take the lazy way out. Take care and safe travels always, my friend!
Jim - great video. I am actually taking this same flight next month. I love your videos and your behind the scenes at SEA. My mother-in-law works in logistics at SEA and I can 100% fact check everything you said.
Hey Jeb - I am flying for the first time after 2 years - althought I am scared I wanna try to board with your excitement (even though its just easy jet - but I am in the front row) Your video do help a bit and thank you for all of them! I hope at some stage I have battled my fear - so I do wanna enjoy flying a bit longer
I was in the SeaTac SkyClub two weeks ago and have to agree with you... This is about the nicest domestic SkyClub in existence. I wasn't expecting such great hot food. (Baked Salmon and Clam Chowder) Especially the clam chowder... just... wow. It was amazing. I thought about waiting in line to get into the Centurion... So glad I didn't.
The SEA Sky Club here is the one where I met you when I was coming back from Japan and I believe you were going to Shanghai in July 2019. Didn’t know how good we had it then.
Last experience I had with Delta was a joke. Last February, I attempted to fly first class from RIC to MCO. It had been snowing, and I get a call in the morning that the flight scheduled for an 11:00 AM departure had been cancelled, but I was rebooked on a flight that had been scheduled to leave at 8:00 AM, but was now pushed back to a 10:30 AM departure, not a big deal. Get to the airport to check in. As I'm putting my Checked bag on the scale at the Delta desk, the attendant tells me that my flight had been canceled. I said that I knew and that we had been rebooked. She said, that the 10:30 flight had been canceled as well. I asked if there was another flight I could get rebooked on, preferably one that would get me to my connecting flight in Atlanta on time. She said that she didn't think they would be flying out of Richmond at all today. I then asked if I could get a flight out of Norfolk, and that we would just drive down there to catch the flight. She checks and says that there's a 1:30 flight out Norfolk, and that we could do that. I asked to rebook us on that one, and just like the South Park episode..."And it's gone." We needed to be in Orlando later that day. Delta couldn't get us out Richmond or Norfolk. So we go over the JetBlue desk and ask if they are flying to Orlando, and they said they had two direct flights, one of which was leaving at 11:30. I asked if the snow was a problem, they said it was not and they had just sent a plane to Ft. Lauderdale a half hour prior. So I ponied up the money for the Jet Blue Flight. On the return trip. The flight out of Orlando (going to Atlanta) was delayed an hour and half, which caused us to miss our connecting flight in Atlanta. Once we got to Atlanta we were rebooked on a later flight to RIC, but not in the first class seats we had paid for. We got to sit the back of the plane. Then after all of that, it took four hours on hold to talk to someone at Delta about getting reimbursed for the flight to Orlando which never happened, and the price difference in first class and steerage for the return trip. And then after all that, it still took two more phone calls to get everything sorted as they "forgot" to credit me with the reinbursment after the inital phone call, and then credited my brother with half the airfare even though I paid for both our flights myself. Of course in the in-flight service was pretty bad. No real food, just a bottle of water and some crackers for first class passengers. It was just terrible every step of the journey. Jet Blue was way better.
I was really young, and I had taken a Delta MD-90. The safety briefing was really funny, the flight attendant made it something about cookies and stuff, don't remember exactly. At the end of the flight, they gave me a delta lapel pin. Got to say that their flight crew was great.
Funny thing...the locals call the airport SeaTac....so I'm always taken aback when you say SEA. :) Thanks for the update. I know Delta has been pushing hard in Seattle to be a hub, I still take Alaska whenever I can.
Interesting video Jeb and hearing about why you have reduced your Delta flights. When it comes to the problems with the interior, it sounds like it was designed by someone who sits behind a computer and never actually experiences how the equipment holds up on a day-to-day basis. Hopefully, service will return to normal on all flights soon.
I live in Greenville South Carolina. Delta is the cheapest, and has the most flights available. Maybe it’s because I live between Charlotte and Atlanta, I don’t know. But nothing is better than Delta. As a passenger with a disability they handle it more graciously than any other airline. And they always treat me exactly the same whether I’m in first class, Delta one or if it’s a Delta connection flight that’s under an hour.
As a Delta Diamond member out of Atlanta I’m really upset with Delta’s product and service lately. Their inflight service is rushed and has no sense of caring at all anymore. The Transatlantic catering is just literally awful and no better than a coach meal in Delta One. I’ve found lack of liquor and inconsistent quality of meals and service on almost every flight since last year. Very disappointing that they still haven’t returned PDB’s, hot towel services, paper menus, and full multi course service in Delta One transatlantic. In my opinion the cost is no where near warrants the results you get other than the seat that’s it. Ive been doing lots of intra European flights that offer better quality food and service than long haul Delta. I fill out the surveys Honestly and never get any response, oh well! Really enjoyed this video though many thanks @jebbrooks you are doing a great job!
Then stop buying DL's Delta One and First Class seats. No one is forcing you to fly in first class, and airlines aren't going to do anything as long as people keep buying those seats. That's most effective survey you can give DL and other airlines. This is why I stick to main cabin as Platinum Medallion and take the free C+ seats. If I do get upgraded to FC for the price of economy, can't really complain much about a snack box when I wouldn't have gotten much in the back of the plane.
Last time I flew on Delta I was flying out to Billings, Montana for a book signing. I have 3 books away to the flight attendants and they have me a code for I think like 3,000 mqms and a bunch of biscoff cookies. Great trade especially when you get upgraded to Gold Medallion Status.
I'm going to Civitavecchia via Rome for a cruise either in 2025 or 2026 so I've been watching travel vloggers videos such as yours to keep an eye on the different airlines that I might fly to see who is skimping since the pandemic started vs. who were skimping for obvious reason that are now starting to return to pre-pandemic standards. I'm leaning and have been for quite some time towards Delta One because the seats are next to the window which I must have. I can't wait tbh because it'll be my first transcontinental flight. The furthest I've flown to is SeaTac then took a bus to Vancouver, BC back in 2001 right after the flight ban was lifted after 9/11 happened.
In my experience cockpit-cabin communication here in Europe is quite good, couple of years ago I was flying from Gatwick to Amsterdam on Easyjet and the incoming flight was 2 hours late, as soon as boarding was completed the captain came out of the cockpit and stood at the front of the cabin and said due to bad weather the flight was delayed, and because we had missed our departure slot we'd be delayed a further 45 minutes to which point the crew were walking down the isle with cups and jugs of water for all of us On another occasion I was flying from Switzerland to the Gatwick with Easyjet and had a 6 hour delay, when the plane finally arrived the captain again came out to the front of the cabin and said the original aircraft that was supposed to do the flight had a broken engine (I saw this plane at the gate and all of its cowling on the No. 1 engine was open) and could not fly, so they had to ferry an aircraft from Italy to London and then to Switzerland (even tho my flight was the first flight of the day for the route the company decided to return flight to Switzerland first in order to minimize delays later in the day
Hi Jeb! Great video as always. Interesting about the delta one seats on the 330NEOs having issues being seats that are barely 3 years old. I can’t vouch for deltas service personally as the last time I flew with them was before the pandemic, but I wonder how much the unruly and sometimes violent passenger incidents along with the pandemic have impacted that hospitality you mentioned. Hopefully people stop assaulting our flight attendants and we can get through this pandemic and I’m sure delta will return to top tier service that we all know it’s capable of. Looking forward to the next one.
Looks great Jeb! I don't know why but in Delta's livery that A330Neo looks great! It looks great to be flying long-haul(ish)! Nice views of Manhatten and the sunset at 13:36
While flight crew are somewhat a dotted line to me being in the hotel industry, I can only imagine what they’re going through. Pandemic aside, the past summer for me and our team at our hotel has been riddled with short staffing (simply because we can’t find anyone), supply shortages, and just an influx of extremely challenging guests, but rightfully since due to inflation we’re charging them record rates, it’s disgusting. I usually love my job but the smile I’m wearing has been fake due to this past summer. I can’t even begin to tell you the crap we have had to put up with but I shiver when I see some of these disruptive passengers. I have no doubt in my mind the Delta cabin crew will bounce back to what they once were as with all hospitality workers. Our industry was hit hard by the pandemic and now with economic recovery we’re getting hit again just differently. I haven’t had more than two days off in a row since 2019 myself due to how stretched thin things have been but I’m certainly blessed I stayed employed, albeit a temporary pay cut. All this said everything is looking up and again, I have zero doubt Delta will come out on top.
I find most of you travel youtubers incredibly annoying, but thank you for flying Delta. I hope this encourages others to do the same. My stock portfolio thanks you.
Delta temporarily swapped out the 757 with the A339 on the SEA-HNL route for a few months. I was able to upgrade from C+ to FC for $25, so I’ll be able to experience the D1 Suite (even though it’ll be FC service). Looking forward to it!
I'll have to try DELTA ONE on my next foray w/ Delta, living so close to ATL in the past use to put me on Delta all the time, thanks for the scoring and the video! P.S. Still missing my hometown of Fairbanks, thanks again for those videos as well!!
My dad was going to fly from Atlanta to Amsterdam on an A350 but due to a baggage door breaking on his connection to Atlanta from Rochester he missed that, Instead he got to fly an A330 Neo for delta like this one!
I'll be flying Delta One from Atlanta to Rome and back in November. The airplane will be a Airbus A330-200. And it's my first time flying Delta One compared to Economy.
The 330 Neo is a game changer. I was a pilot flying both A330 and A350, and can say the A350 was only marginally better in efficiency up to 8 hours flight time.

I agree . Just flew this config on a 767-400 a couple hours ago (first class/Delta One), and first thing I liked compared to similar product from other US carriers was the color pallet.
appreciate the videos about domestic flight. feels more relatable than international.
Jeb has one of the raddest jobs. ✊ RESPECT Jeb!! 🔥🔥🔥✈️
Another fantastic video Jeb! Last week I fles ATL-LAS_JFK in D1 on the 767-400ER, and let me tell you, even though we had Delta One, the service was bare bones too. Those Flight Fuel boxes are really getting old...
I flew on the same plane from SJU to ATL
But you must remember employees are needed to Make Fresh Food. All airlines are short employees and dont wanna pay more for Quality employees. So the food will be the last thing to come back, Staffing is an issue with all employers now.
I flew a similar route back in August on the 767-400 in Delta One, and had the boxed meal too. But Delta made up for it in every other area!
In think to many people there’s huge value in personal space and partitions in times of an airborne pandemic.
Love your videos, as an Airline employee you show the world our dally lives.
I always enjoy your videos! Wife and I are flying Delta One in November on return trip from CDG->JFK on an A330-900neo. It's weird because I didn't think the A330-900s were flying out of CDG, only AMS etc. Looking forward to the flight regardless. Safe travels!
You are correct about that the cost of flying delta has nearly doubled in a few years!!!!
Last time I flew with delta was for ATL-RGA it was DL2827 and the registration was N858DZ. Love ya Delta!
Jeb we share so much in common… one of those denominators is having an unparalleled obsession to delta…
Are you a trip scammer?
I'VE ALWAYS ENJOYED DELTA AIRLINES , NICE AND CLEAN , FRIENDLY STAFF .
Nice to see you wearing the GMT.
That's a fine looking aircraft. 😊👍
The SEA Sky Club here is the one where I met you when I was coming back from Japan and I believe you were going to Shanghai in July 2019. Didn’t know how good we had it then.
Those were certainly the “good old days!”
I traveled on delta in june no delays, awsome service, and nice veiw!
The overview of Manhattan is stunning!
I was really young, and I had taken a Delta MD-90. The safety briefing was really funny, the flight attendant made it something about cookies and stuff, don't remember exactly.
At the end of the flight, they gave me a delta lapel pin.
Got to say that their flight crew was great.
Thank you for flying Delta!
Funny thing...the locals call the airport SeaTac....so I'm always taken aback when you say SEA. :) Thanks for the update. I know Delta has been pushing hard in Seattle to be a hub, I still take Alaska whenever I can.
The airport is trying to rebrand it to SEA and stop calling it Seatac
Interesting video Jeb and hearing about why you have reduced your Delta flights. When it comes to the problems with the interior, it sounds like it was designed by someone who sits behind a computer and never actually experiences how the equipment holds up on a day-to-day basis. Hopefully, service will return to normal on all flights soon.
Really do enjoy your honest reviews!
I was lucky enough to fly one of these on a layover on 2020. It was really nice.
Just be happy u got to ur destination safe bro. Don't complain about the small stuff
Jeb, that was some stunning footage out the window!!
Yup, It is beautiful country out here!
Thank you for the video! Sigh! The good old days, when we could travel!
Never thought I'd hear the words 'regular first class' in my life!
Wine in a plastic cup? No go!
Thank you very much, Jeb, for sharing your video with us.
Maybe covid has something to with the drop in quality?
I like your review. Maybe you should get a Chanel to review all your travels. 🤗
I'm sure the Delta service that you remember from pre 2020 will come back.
@@raulg9129 I think so
Last time I flew on Delta I was flying out to Billings, Montana for a book signing. I have 3 books away to the flight attendants and they have me a code for I think like 3,000 mqms and a bunch of biscoff cookies. Great trade especially when you get upgraded to Gold Medallion Status.
Fun seeing you fly over our neighborhood on takeoff climb, Jeb!
Looked like a cruise ship in the harbor.
Love me some Delta!
Of course Delta One too
I'm going to Civitavecchia via Rome for a cruise either in 2025 or 2026 so I've been watching travel vloggers videos such as yours to keep an eye on the different airlines that I might fly to see who is skimping since the pandemic started vs. who were skimping for obvious reason that are now starting to return to pre-pandemic standards.
In my experience cockpit-cabin communication here in Europe is quite good, couple of years ago I was flying from Gatwick to Amsterdam on Easyjet and the incoming flight was 2 hours late, as soon as boarding was completed the captain came out of the cockpit and stood at the front of the cabin and said due to bad weather the flight was delayed, and because we had missed our departure slot we'd be delayed a further 45 minutes to which point the crew were walking down the isle with cups and jugs of water for all of us
On another occasion I was flying from Switzerland to the Gatwick with Easyjet and had a 6 hour delay, when the plane finally arrived the captain again came out to the front of the cabin and said the original aircraft that was supposed to do the flight had a broken engine (I saw this plane at the gate and all of its cowling on the No.
Nice views of Manhatten and the sunset at 13:36
You are fortunate to travel like this!
ANOTHER GOD TEIR VID. THANKS JEB!!!!
I find most of you travel youtubers incredibly annoying, but thank you for flying Delta. I hope this encourages others to do the same. My stock portfolio thanks you.
Just curious, what do you find annoying?
Jeb awesome editing at the 2:34 mark!
Thanks!! I’ve been working hard to improve my editing. I appreciate you noticing!
Thanks for the video, Jeb Brooks!
7:08 - It's interesting how the "Delta blue" isn't featured on the outer face of the winglet.
Nice video. Looking forward to flying with Delta Airlines...🤙
Delta temporarily swapped out the 757 with the A339 on the SEA-HNL route for a few months. I was able to upgrade from C+ to FC for $25, so I’ll be able to experience the D1 Suite (even though it’ll be FC service). Looking forward to it!
Great video Jeb 👍
Deltas crews out of the east coast has to be one of the bests
I love your reviews. Well done and informative.
I'll be very surprised if many of the previous services come back. The days of lux flying are going to be very scarce.
I really enjoy your videos, great Editing btw, thanks for sharing
Nice work with the editing, Jeb.
Jeff you are absolutely correct for delta services they have missing on lot of things I recently use delta from lax to ewr and back they are missing big time cleaning the flights…..
I wish I could share pics to show you as proof
Told steward I was hungry in coach , she whipped me up a great lunch for free , she told me no one goes hungry on her flight , that was 20 years ago and have been a loyal Northwest/Delta customer since.
I have been in the exact route in the exact plane with the exact entertainment screen!
Recently just flew this flight in delta 1 and it was amazing also first time in first class well done delta
Great vlog as always! Like I have told you before, I have not flown DL since 1994! Back then it was bad! I miss NW, US, PI, TW, PA, and CO. I never got to fly BN, EA, and PSA.
Delta is way ahead of ALL of their U.S. competition.
