Panzermensch but you're a Leopard II Commander on the Eastern Front

- The Leopard 2 is a third generation German main battle tank (MBT). Developed by Krauss-Maffei in the 1970s, the tank entered service in 1979 and replaced the earlier Leopard 1 as the main battle tank of the West German army. Various iterations of the Leopard 2 continue to be operated by the armed forces of Germany, as well as 13 other European countries, and several non-European countries, including Canada, Chile, Indonesia, and Singapore. Some operating countries have licensed the Leopard 2 design for local production and domestic development.

Rommel was easily one of the most overrated German commanders in WW2. He relied on British incompetence and when the British finally got a competent commander he lost over and over again
@@arandomboot598 Sigh so tired of this mantra...Except he isnt, and Monty just coincided with a huge influx of manpower equipment and gradual changes he had very little to do with.
Any of the supposedly incompetent British generals before him would have performed the same at El Alamein. The odds were so heavily stacked on the side of the British it was a matter of time before they go through the Axis.
Monty wasnt even the first choice for command, he was called to take over only when the original Co replacement died in a plane accident, so much about Montys importance.
Alamein was an attritional push through slog fest after all of the fancy machinations by Monty flopped just as his actions around Caen or Market Garden, but he was on the winning side so he could claim nonsense and get a pass (even with Market Garden he called it "90 % successful"... and then blamed 10 % of the flop on the Polish Airborne). He also ha complete air dominance and ultra...in this case you just dont have to be a retard to win.
Rommel had a stellar reputation and performance even before Africa, his ww1 infantry experience, He wrote "Infantry attacks" and (uncompleted) "Tank attacks", and then we have his drive through France with 7th panzer and his personal command during the Arras crisis.
He also knew what overwhelming Allied air power does to daylight mobility of tank forces and wanted to position them close to the coast not inside as deep reserves, something many other German COs refused to accept before D Day
Its just that copers conveniently ignore it and focus on Africa because he ultimately lost in a strategic position no Co, be it Patton, Monty, or any of the truly overrated allied generals wouldnt last for 5 minutes when facing similar odds...
@@DD-qw4fzthe issue with Rommel was the logistics he kinda forgot about logistics
@@bliecoug1029 his whole point of capturing Tobruk was to ease his logistics that had to go by land , so again this claim is nonsense.
Most of the claims are 20 20 hindsight, real life isnt a video game HOI4 info spreadsheet, you cant predict everything and many things arent "obvious", until they happen.
Perfect logistics dont exist, we have seen it with Allied forces after the Normandy breakthrough, we can go even into modern age with US invasion of Iraq.
But back to ww2
Despite no meaningful German active interference of allied Logitics (U boats and Air force defeated by 44 ), the Allies got stuck on Germanys border not because of German resistance but their logistics utterly failing to keep up.
Then they bickered how to proceed ,with one failure after another (Pattons Metz debacle, Market Garen , Hurtgen Forrest) but most important, French ports were bypassed for the sake of speed, , their German garrisons only surrendered with VE day.
Only in march 45 did they cross the Rhine, thats a whole 5 almost 6 months after they stopped dry of gas in September.
Rommel by comparison had to rely on the Italian navy fighting the RN and had no saying on those operations, all he could do is hope for the best.
If you want to point at the man with utter disregard for logistics go look at Patton but he was on the winning side aka he had a ton of shit the Germans could only dream about, so it masked his many flaws.
@@DD-qw4fzRommel was a good commander on the tactical level but not on the strategic level, he led Divisions like they were companies. He won because the British were incompetent baffoons. They fell for the same trap thrice, Monty was a decent General because he was the only one who came up with a defence in depth plan like Richard OConnor, this is why the British one because Monty and Auchinleck defined a defensive area form El Alamein into the Nile delta. So the outflanking tactics wouldn’t work anymore.
Man that detail at 3:34 was absolutely amazing. How the new tank operator glitches into the old WW2 tank one. Great job man! Keep em coming
And it’s the MG3 firing that’s giving him the flashbacks
@@zwickflixproductions4379 Honestly dont know much about tanks but then did old ones also have the same turret and thats why hes getting the flashbacks?
