Prof. Moir, THANK YOU so much for this wonderful video! I felt I was back in college! Your lecture on Ovid's Metamorphoses was so, so, so great that I actually book the book! I am so grateful for such an understandable (not boring) lecture on a topic that may not necessarily drive one to go read it. You made it SO fascinating that I can't wait to read it. Your students are very lucky to have you as their professor. I've been watching as many of your other lectures as I can. I hope you may have one on The Tale of Genji. It's been years since I finish college (actually graduate school) but I never read Metamorphoses. So, your lecture is perfect for getting me to read it. Thank you for your videos (I will keep watching them).

Omg thank you so much for uploading this! It's been incredibly difficult to see past all the horrific content of these myths to analyze them. I'd love to hear a breakdown of each myth in Metamorphosis.

      User name is "Eleven Witch".
Can't handle reading highly symbolized stories that have endured for centuries.

Ovid is telling the allegory of archetypal planetary deities. Personification of the planets, which physically moved places and lit up with Plasma, ever changing until the Sun became king.

I need to read Ovids Metamorphoses for a mask class for drama school, so this is so helpful before I dive into the tome itself

"Chaos" has no order, no morality, and no inherent capability. I think the universal constant you are attempting to describe, and the fabric that weaves together the books of the Metamorphoses, is poorly captured by that mathematical and symbolically baron term. Thanks for posting.
