I’ve read somewhere that there was originally two more chapter, with Mexico being the first area they landed in after Guarma. It would have seen Arthur, Javier, Dutch, Bill and Micah have to find a way back into the United States in the midst of some Mexican crisis, then they would have gotten into New Austin and seen the Wild West wasn’t as great as they believe it would be, similar to Guarma not being the picturesque Paradise Dutch idealized.
Also purchasable property never made sense in the first game so they were right to take it out. It’s the only aspect I think of RDR 1 that Rockstar made an error on. Back then you rented rooms, not buy them. It made better sense for John to be the stranger from out of town.
I would love it if they added a DLC that included Mexico, North Elizabeth en so on. I think this game has so much potential with extra content!

Tbh, i’d purchase a DLC if one day they decided to work on these things again and made them work. It would sounds like they just want our money but as long as they put the effort in to finish all these im down to drop some money to replay this wonderful game

The cut love interest was Eliza, people found even voice files from cutscenes where Arthur talks to her and how Eliza talks to John, and also there's a model of Isaac in wraps in the 1st chapter.

And the fucked up thing is most of these were cancelled because they wanted to do GTA 6 instead it's why red dead dying
To me, Guarma had NO business on this game at all. I feel it was only added to cheat us out of our good guns and our horses. If Rockstar wants to make a castaway-action game (like "Lost" tv series), they could do a good one. But that did not belong here. I also wonder WHY Arthur needs to be handed his own guns all the time?! Seriously??!! He is handed snipers several times! I love the game, but I think Rockstar really got careless in some aspects.
It really bums me out how rockstar gave up on this. I understand the online community wasnt as large as GTA.. but still. The online community has gained some traction again though over the last year. Been on myself too. Still a lot of fun things to it. Especially with friends. This game is literally the most life like game I've played personally. Every time I revisit it for another story playthrough.. I'm shocked at the new things I STILL find on my run throughs. New dialogues I've never seen, new details.. free roam events... Its crazy. It still even baffles me at the milage the devs went to make sure there was dialogue for EVERYTHING. If you've played certain missions before others, it gets referenced, if you bring certains animals or things back to camp it gets mentioned... just anything and everything is there. Thats what really gives it that life like feel and immerses us. I hope to some day get a chance to play another game this rich in detail and lore and realism. I adored this game the first time and still for like my 7th playthrough. The online could've been great with all of these mechanics and everything if it would have lived on. But we'll never know. ANd they never do story dlc anymore. So thats sad too.
I wouldnt payed $30 for a singleplayer expansion whether its a cowboys vs aliens, blackeater massacre or Sadie Alder expansion
It sucks that rockstar just abandoned such a detailed and loved game.
I did always find it fascinating how the devs left that much land in the game that was unreachable. I guess its easier and cheaper to just leave it instead of removing it and remodling again when they decide to not use it. Wish we could have seen a world where those places came to life though.
The New Austin we got at the end of the game was actually the New Austin we were going to get when Arthur and the game were still able to travel there. When we would get to the epilogue, we'd get a more in line with RDR1 New Austin, but when they cut that part and started the game from Colter, they left the Arthur New Austin/Armadillo in the game.
To Be honest, I can’t wait till Red dead redemption 3. Really hope they round off the redemption storyline and finish off with Jack. America didn’t join WWI till April 1917. So as it stands right now, we got a few years to work with to tell Jack story/show the consequences for killing Ross. (1914,1915,1916, & some of 1917). Which, if you ask me that’s more than enough time to tell if a great story about a young man on the run for a few years. All because… “revenge is a fools game”
No guarantee that will happen. Dan is gone so they would need another writer and with a lack of Rockstar developed titles since Bully, in other words only two AAA titles in the PS4/XBox One lifespan and information that two others Bully 2 and Agent were shelved, it doesn't look good for AAA games from Rockstar besides GTA VI.
Red dead without the cowboys just doesn't feel like red dead
@@aiden4112 cowboys still exist even in modern times so we will have no problem having Cowboys in a game in the 1910s.

As for outlaw gangs. Well Way I see it, if even in major US cities around at that time (even now tbh) couldn’t get mob, cartel, gang or petty crime activity firmly under control. Despite their being large organized police forces with the most advanced technology available to catch criminals and respond to crime. Then a bunch of criminals riding around on horses in the 1910s in the middle of rural wilderness doesn’t seem like a far fetched concept.
It’s a good thing they kept back this stuff so they could include them in the sweet DLCs we got. HA

As Great as the game was. There is a part of me that would have preferred they focused more on the mainline section of the game with Arthur and saved the John section of the game as a DLC/Sequel.
I would prefer a more refined version of Arthur’s story with most of the things they needed to remove.
Then save the New Austin and Mexico sections of the game for John.
Taking on the Big task of trying to do both (or all 3 areas depending on how you look at it) for one huge game was too much in the end as it appears with the final product.
I would have loved to put the characters in there cover art outfits or rdr1 outfits for heists
This game has such amazing potential. Even to this day I would be stoked to see additional content and DLCs. They could make bank off of that, even if it meant RDR3(?) got delayed. The foundation is already there, they are setup perfectly for it. I just don't understand why this game was abandoned the way it was. You can tell just by looking at Guarma and New Austin it was intended for so much more than what was given.

The game is the greatest prequel ever made, and the most realistic game ever made. It is incredible as is.

@@Grippeyy horse reviver, force walking mechanics in select areas, weapon reload isn't fully accurate, polishing and maintaining guns is hilariously Arcadic, it's about 60% realistic, why would you want a full realistic triple a video game, you'd be stupid to want that, do you know how boring human beings are physically compared to fiction?

tbh, I'm one of the very few people that say New Austin shouldn't have been part of this game.
it is indeed pretty empty and plays no role in the story.
at least West Elizabeth because of the story, Blackwater and Beacher's Hope makes sense to be included in RDR2.
New Austin should have been cut from the game. the map is already large enough. I honestly don't spend much time in New Austin.
1st, because you can only access it when you are 90% done with the game and 2nd, because the region is not interesting or empty of content.
Rockstar seriously wasted lots of time and resources to build this part of the game.

Thank you! Someone finally critiquing the game for genuine reasons. The fact that RDR had over 30 bounties and RDR2 has like what 10 is just fucking infuriating. How do they take 5 steps forward and then 10 back?
@@bn-tc2tk I think RDR2 is a low-key hunting simulator game when you are not doing story missions.
hunting animals is pretty interesting and you get rewarded for it with new purchasable clothes after you of course bring perfect quality hides/pelts to the trapper to be able to craft them.
plus, the trinkets and talismans you can create from legendary animals.
I'd say Guarma. It's wasting big space and it was unecessary to be in Game.
Served nothing than few boring and pointless missions.

Guarma is indeed a drag on the pacing of the story.

Honestly, Sadie and Arthur would’ve been a pretty good couple like I’m not the only one who sees that right? Maybe Sadie would’ve been heartbroken from Arthur, having tuberculosis and him eventually dying.

Idk where you guys got your back story or content but it’s…hooky. Maybe they didn’t go through with a second love interest because he was involved once and even had a kid. The second love interest is Mary in that content. You could argue Charlotte is also a love interest. And you can tell Sadie and Arthur definitely care about each other.
Fuck a RDR1 remaster. Remaster RDR2 with ALL the cut content including ponchos and all from RDO.
I would like to add Guama was a fully in Hannibal and explorable map

there is almost ZERO content in New Austin.
and besides, without New Austin the map of RDR2 is already big enough.
I would have preferred if Ambarino and that Tempest Rim settlement was a finished concept.
I kept up with RDR back in the day before launch. I didn't keep up with RDR2 at all. I played it for the first time in 2020 to the end. I didn't know you could explore new austin. I explored it and was disappointed. Haha

in my opinion they should have just delay the game to ps5 and xbox series x because we could have got those features with the extended time and got better textures and frame rate. holy crap imagine red dead 2 looking like hogwarts legacy.
They should make a dlc that adds most of the cut content to the game like tempest rim, mexico, the mini games, etc.

RDR 2 is a showcase for the RAGE engine. I hope to see more of it in the future.
