So far, I find it has too many function buttons/dials which are too easily pressed, but I’m coming from Leicas which have deliberately few buttons. You and I actually had a few conversations over email and on Threads about this. I was struggling over the X-T50 and the X-T5 so I went and tried BOTH out as soon as they were available here in Shanghai. As I felt, both would do the job, but the EVF felt world's better on the X-T5 as did the feel of the camera, the bigger battery, the weather-sealing, and honestly I wasn't willing to trade my ISO dial for a Film Simulation dial I (probably) wouldn't use. Size wise, they weren't much different in the hand. In my experience, the X-T5 was just a better camera...plus (if the rumors are true), all the film simulations will come to the X-T5 with the newest firmware update.

4:10 you talk about artifical depth of field to achieve in post in a convincing fashion, but as soon as i saw the pictures at 4:50 and 5:05 i knew directly that something's wrong. for me artifcial depth of field almost never feels and looks right. the photo of the woman with the dog even is badly edited, her face and the hat were just swallowed by the effect. sorry, but i feel like these pictures would have been better straight out of the camera, even with the kit lens. a good framing and shot don't necessarily need dramatic bokeh.
Of course you are right that dramatic bokeh isn’t always necessary, and kudos to you for having a keen eye. Something about the image at 5:34 I love.
I'm still using an X-T20 (which I quite frankly am very happy with), but am sorely tempted by the higher resolution sensor. Shame weather sealing isn't squeezed in, to go with their little f/2.8 prime lenses.
Having a full HDMI port on this type of camera, is not feasible. Now, not having an audio in, well Fuji thinks that this camera is not a video camera.
It DOES have audio in - it’s right there in the 4K/60p b-roll. 😊

Fuji's business model is 'interesting'. Build a great camera and follow it with a cheaper version. It's almost as if they deliberately undercut their best. Time and again. I hope it's working for them. Money-wise at least.
The xt50 just makes the x100vi even better honestly.
If it wasn’t for the stupid placement of that “Q” button it would great, but if it’s like my X-T30 I will pass…
I'd rather get an XS-20.
fair enough!
What does the xs20 have that's better?
I would rather get a Hasselblad or phase one.
Don't really get how you can rave about the X-T50 and yet have been so down on the X-S20.
If you saw my review of the X-S20, you wouldn't be asking the question because I am NOT down on the X-S20!
@@3BMEP Sorry if I misrepresented the video but I remember the tone of it being pretty negative and meh, whereas the tone of this one was pretty unremittingly positive. I'd argue the X-S20 is for many people a better purchase.
@@SJMPhotographynot negative at all! 😊🖖🏻
But insofar as I didn’t assert that artificial depth of field is convincing and I was interested in accomplishing multiple objectives (which I have done to my satisfaction), let us simply agree that reasonable people may disagree about an essentially endless number of things. Thanks for weighing in. 🖖🏻😊
@@3BMEP absolutely right. other than that small detail I loved your shots and the review. neat camera, I think if I didn't send my x-e4 to repair I would have considered it, even if I find it a little pricey.
😊👍🏻
One card slot…pass (unfortunately)
Fujifilm has too many cameras.
Compared to which manufacturer? Pentax? 🙂
Or Canon?
Inexpensive ??? Which planet are you on ?
To everyone - cancel your x100vi pre-orders if you are thinking about the xt-5 or xt-50. Think about your vacation 😉
For the price range it’s in it’s still missing dual card slots and weather sealing as it’s virtually in the same price range as the X-T5. And its build quality indicates it should be cheap not a premium price. I had high hopes until the released it at this price as I think it should be avoided. It’s basically a cheap spec camera at a premium price. Avoid. We’re not stupid Fuji.
Nonsense.
@@r423sdex not nonsense. It’s way overpriced for what it is. IBIS is pretty much standard on the cheapest cameras for the last decade and Fuji thinks it’s a premiums feature. That’s BS
@@shred3005
Do you have any recommendations for much cheaper 40mpix APS-C with IBIS at that size and weight?
@@JackBurton-qp4hc although it's heavier, i saw the x-t5 now several times second hand but good condition even cheaper than the x-t50, compared to other apsc cameras i'd say it's still small for its 40mp.

Of course I meant new!
