    Thanks for the review. I’ve been thinking about getting a 112 sport ranger for some time and I found one for nearly 40% off recently and your review sealed the deal for me!

    Awesome vid. I have it it is everything you said it is. BUCK knocked out of the park on this one. Loved the old style… but the new style is a great EDC

    What is missing from this new Ranger as well as the 110 version are FINGER GROOVES. Nice deep finger grooves that come out of the Custom Shop not the barely there regular production finger grooves.

      I agree with you! Finger grooves would be Phenomenal on this knife! Thanks for watching.. Much more videos coming. just getting This channel started… Please subscribe, as more content is on the way!

      No hate to you friend but I’d say the majority of ppl would prefer a neutral handle over finger groves. Nothing worse than a perfect knife that has finger grooves thst don’t fit your hand right. Has ruined a couple really nice knives for me

      @@johnnyringo2185 I guess it all depends on the person and hand ✋🏻 shape.
      But I can definitely see your point!

    Freehand sharpening is art. If you know, you know. Finger sweat distressed micarta - is this the new 'forced-patina / shipwrecking' ? I hope so, because unlike said examples, actual use is the only way to give it that look. Shipwrecking looks neat, but it's the fashion torn jeans of the knife world in my opinion. Good stuff, I enjoy your content!

    • @bostonbladereviews919

      Thank you JJ Jinks!
      I really like micarta as handle material! . It’s definitely a great material, and as you said the patina it develops is only through use. I really like the buck 500.. the duke! Buck doesn’t make it anymore . But it’s a beautiful knife, I plan on doing a video on it shortly. The duke has micarta inlays with nickel silver bolsters and a drop point blade. They also had a version with wood handles. Just a beautiful knife. I will do a review on that one as well! Thank you for your support towards my channel!

    Thanks for the review. However I had a heart attack when you used the leather furniture to close your knife. 😊

    I like the concise review! Just sent off a trade for one of these and I'm super excited to get it. I want something to always carry around so my son gets used to seeing it and then I'll be able to hand it down to him when he's old enough. Buck seems like the best brand to do that with and I'm really hoping this knife fits the bill. My only concern is that I usually wear khakis/chino style pants and work in an office setting so pocket space is limited and the handle looks a little thick. Maybe this will just have to be a weekend jeans carry or something like that because I just love how it looks!

      Hey brother, sorry for the late comment.. how did you end up liking this knife?

    • @tfwoodcraft
      @tfwoodcraft ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bostonbladereviews919 I love it! the handle is kinda thick, but the closed knife isn't "tall" so it really doesn't take up much room in my pocket. Carries like its a much smaller knife than it really is. Plus it's classic looking and a beast of a knife as far as blade stock and build quality. Great knife. The only thing I'm not 100% thrilled about is the big clip shape. I like the blade shape better on the Pro TRX models. I'm wondering if that would be an easy swap?

    If I had known 10-20 years ago what I know now, , I might have bought the 112 instead of the 110. I'm carrying the 112 Slim. If the more traditional 112's are just as comfortable in my hand, I gotta have one.

    Why can’t buck just slap a clip on the brass/wood models? They would sell like hot cakes.

    I’m a freehand sharpener also, my advice to the guy that complains about the thumb stud, learn to freehand sharpen, any true knife connoisseur should know how to freehand sharpen, he must be a millennial 😂
