I finished reading this novel a week ago. One of the best reads of my life 10/10. One thing I’d like to note is that Palpatine after becoming chancellor met with a anakin for the first time. He noted that there was anger in the boy and decided to groom him and become a “father figure” something Qui gon should have been. This stood out as the best part of the novel for me as the fate of the galaxy rested on this fact: anakin needed a father, and the dark side was that father.

@@Cha0sPhoenix Darth Plagueis. Get the audiobook of it from pirate Bay, it's not only one of the best books written for SW, but also THE best audiobook. The narrator does the best voices and the music is in the perfect places. I have read the book twice, and have listened to it 3 to times already, it's that good.
That's why it called duel of fates because Qui Gon was fighting for the boy's future.

I would love to know more details about their “prolonged meditation” to strengthen the dark side across the galaxy. It sounds like the effects of this lasted for decades clouding the minds of the Jedi and turning people to the dark side like Ventress & Krell
it not only lasted, Palpatine expanded it further, during the clone wars the cloud of the dark side is said to obscure, but during the empire era some characters describe the cloud of the dark side as overbearing all across the galaxy

Phantom menace is one of the best Star Wars films! I understand all the hate but I absolutely love it because there is so much mystery behind it and we will never understand everything that happened!
It would actually be pretty amazing to have a movie showing what happened behind the scenes regarding plageus and sidious. Unfortunately I could never see it happening and even if it did, I dont have faith in Disney to make it right. Honestly, a well made fan film with decent acting would probably do the job well enough.

it's in both legends and canon that the sith used the dark side to cloud the fact the jedi temple was built on an old sith temple to dull their minds

Great video and I agree with you. I recently read Labyrinth of Evil and Plagueis and then watched Phantom Menance again. Knowing what was going on from the Sith perspective is cool.
He’s not even in the movie and is one of the most interesting characters. His presence and lore is amazing.

What if Qui Gon Jin had the high ground while fighting me
Now when watching episode 1, it’s so cool to know that just a few inches off screen, Plagueis is getting visions of Vader while Qui Gon explains the midichlorians to Anakin and that Maul was also sent to Naboo to get Anakin
It would’ve been nice if they put these parts in the Phantom Menace in to see what was going on behind the scenes

Well done , love the in-between goings on during this time period....sith would rule like the Roman empire, a pivotal time in their history. You cant make and omlette without breaking some eggs....the price plagues, maul,and dooku would pay

That was cool. They should have put some of it in Phantom Menace, it would have made it a deeper and more interesting film.
If you rewatch the Phantom Menace scenes in which Plagueis appears in the book once you have read it, the atmosphere is far more creepy

How does this work chronologically with the Sith observing the rule of two? Than means you’ve got Plagueis, Dooko, Palpatine and Maul all operating simultaneously when there’s only supposed to be two Sith at a time?
Simple: Plagueis thought that Maul was a Sith Assassin. He allowed his apprentice to keep him as a tool. Dooku wasn't a Sith Lord yet in 1st episode. Maybe he left the order already.

no, they take new apprentices in secret while their master is still alive. almost all sith after bane we know of did that.

from what i heard about the audio book is that palpatine was requesting for an apprentice to darth plagueis one that can learn ways of the sith which served as a decoy and sacrificial lamb plagueis agreed to train him an apprentince.

a great spinoff film would be a backstory on darth plagueis. we don’t see him at all in the films but we know he’s alive in PM.
maybe even as the ending for that spinoff could be his death. i just find it so annoying how he’s so iconic yet hasn’t actually appeared once ever in movie history. thankfully we saw his species for a few seconds in attack of the clones, though.

It would be good to have seen Plageus, syfro dyias and Darth Tenabus and Palpatine in youth too. What annoys me is that they keep going on with the clone wars/in between a new hope and revenge of Sith.

Considering baby Yoda is the same age as Anakin, he is the real chosen one.
The force kinda screwed up, creating a being that takes AGES to grow up.
The slow aging probably doesn't have to do anything with the force, his species just seems to age slowly by itself since Yoda was 900 years old when he died.

@@darthjarjar1511 It has nothing to do with the number of sith or Jedi...Otherwise the whole rule of two of the Sith would put the force way out balance [in favor of the Jedi] for a thousand years prior to BBY.
It has to do with the use of the force, and the Sith at this time were just as corrupt [and powerful] as the Dark lords of old. So yes, it means the destruction of the Sith in this modern timeline.

Maybe 'the child' is a special role, just like the Father, Son, and Daughter are (don't know if you've seen the Clone Wars Mortis episodes, you can look those names up if you haven't)

No. He did meet He-man and tried to convert him to the dark side. He-man defeated him, and Skeletor was given dark side to harass the Masters as to not go after Plagues.

Wish we could've actually see Darth Plagueis actually training Palpatine, helping him rise in political landscape and as a Sith apprentice until he's killed by Palpatine in The Phantom Menace but no The Prequel Trilogy was cheap with details.

Blame the aristocratic oppressor class for putting unnecessary letters in French words. They did that because they thought it was "fashionable" or something, and also to set themselves apart from the "common folk." Anyway, I'm all for poetic license, just not when it's abused.
