- Universal has 2 Prime Resorts on property...Cabana Bay and Aventrua! Both are great, but when put head to head who will come up on top!
Today we will debate the pros and cons of each and tell you our thoughts!

Im an aventura girl all the way. After the hhn sensory overload it so relaxing to come back to the quiet clean rooms. Considerably less children, I'm child free and I enjoy the atmosphere without large families more. I love taking the water taxi and stopping at coffee company at sapphire falls for a snack or shake before the short walk to aventura. Or the same walk in the morning to grab the breakfast buffet.
Maybe it's my introverted nature but auventura is a great adult escape after all the fun chaos of the park or special events.
That makes total sense to us! We totally get that! Especially with as much sensory overload as hhn can be!
Being an adult with no kids, I'm really enjoying Aventura. It's quieter, the layout is more compact (because after a day in the park, the last thing I want to do is walk around a huge resort) and I like the food. I will more than likely stay at Cabana Bay when I have my
nieces and nephews with me later this year, but for myself, Aventura is the way to go.😊
That is very fair! The walk from cabana bay does add up due to the size! Your family will have a lot of fun with it! When are they joining you?

@@fudge_factor Aventura - It looked cleaner and more closer to my aesthetic. But what was mentioned in the video that Cabana Bay makes you FEEL like you’re on vacation would be the reason I switched hotels, if anything!
@HelloTiffy00 you will have fun regardless! Being at Universal is better than not being at Universal! Especially because the meetups are so much fun! You’ll be so tired by the end and so full of food 😂
For me the biggest negative with Cabana Bay over Aventura was how spread out it was. You just getting in and out of the hotel from your room was a massive difference.
Also with the tablets in Aventura I was able to do checkout from the room which I couldn't do from my phone as it wasn't on an American network . Just a plus for us foreigners

Hi, so last year was the first proper multi day trip for universal, centered around HHN.
We ended up getting annual passes because of the hotel discount and three free months so heading back for HHN again this September.
Basically already obsessed with HHN so having the monthly ticket plus annual pass gives us the freedom to chill when we want and go to parks as we feel. Going for 11 days as half a sun holiday half an adventure holiday.
In Ireland at that time the weather is miserable so it's kinda perfect

Have only stayed at premier hotels for the Express Pass. CB, haven’t stayed there BUT have pool hopped for the lazy river. Aventura, not stayed, it’s my plan for my next SOLO stay. Have ONLY stayed at UOR Premier hotels, cuz, ya know, EP. That noted, single rider is often WAY faster than EP. I’m a walker. (Yeah, pool & water taxi hopping is available). Especially, cuz I’m eating so much JUNK food when at the parks. Even ‘healthy’ food seems like junk food when at the parks. I’ll walk a wee bit o junk of this trunk. Ohhoooohh, didn’t know Aventura had a ‘semi private’ entrance to Volcano Bay (tho, yet to go). Have celebrated a birthday at Bar 17 … Brilliant vista. Sorry CB, not into milkshakes or bowling. I place my head on the pillow and spend my days at the parks.
That make complete sense! If you want ep than premiers a lot of times makes sense. And if you are a park goer and only need a place to sleep than aventura makes sense if you are trying to save some $$
What Ben said about how Cabana Bay makes you FEEL like you're on a vacation in Universal nailed why I so want to stay at Cabana Bay. I want the memories to include my hotel, not just the park itself.
Does Cabana Bay (or Aventura for that matter) offer non-Starbucks coffee options? My wife lives off coffee, but Starbucks does NOT agree with her. I'm one of those non coffee drinking freaks, so matters not for me, haha. I'm looking forward to the milkshakes.
Where have you stayed prior?
They have coffee in the room, but your best bet for non Starbucks is Dutch trading company in Sapphire Falls (right next to Aventura).

My 17 year old son and i stayed at Aventura for HHN and it was nice and quiet to come 'home' to. I love CB but there are more young kids at CB and thus it is more...ahem...energetic.
They is very true. Sometimes it’s very nice to go home to a quaint, quiet place, away from the bustle of the parks
Great info! I’m going to try Cabana Bay when I can go more often. I did miss my turn one night leaving the parks walking back to Sapphire Falls and I ended up at Cabana Bay. It was a long walk. I love the quick walks to the parks in the morning and the ease of getting through security at the water taxis or by City Walk.

@@fudge_factor I think my husband would agree with that 😅. I found Sapphire Falls for around 180 for 2 people with the AP rate. I don't think that's bad when you split it. I'll probably be doing some solo trips at least once a yr. I feel comfortable at Sapphire when I'm by myself.

I got pizza delivered to our room at Aventura. It was cool and easy to order using the tablet in the room, but the pizza and sandwich we ordered were not great.
Cabana has the best pizza by far. Hard Rock is a close second.
How does it compare to Louie’s?
Silly how not one Universal vlogger mentions the quickest route to the park from Cabana, and that is just walking along Hollywood Way. It saves about 10 minutes of walking time, is a direct route to the parks, and is a huge time saver at the end of the night. Also, if you stay at Cabana and take the water taxi, crossing the road there is quick, easy, safe, and also cuts off a ton of walking time.
But yeah, Hollywood Way is by far the quickest and easiest path back to Cabana. No elevation changes, no out of the way loop around Royal Pacific, and Hollywood Way also provides access to a gas station less than 2 blocks from Cabana. Nobody mentions that part either, and that is if you dont have a car, Cabana is going to be the most convenient if you need services like a gas station, or cheap food and drinks.
That’s a fair point about Hollywood way. We haven’t done that so we can’t say one way or another.
We have seen several people almost get hit crossing the road to sapphire falls though.
@@fudge_factor I've seen it too. It can save you a few minutes though. I see people just dart out into that street without looking both ways😂😂😂. But that road can be crossed safely, just use good judgement.

Stayed at Cabana Bay first week of March. Loved it, but I could see it possibly becoming kid-overload depending on the time of your visit.
Totally understand that! How was it the first week of March? Lots of cheer competition people?
@@fudge_factor The cheer competition came in late Friday and Saturday. It wasn’t bad for us, we were there from the 7th-10th. It did seem like the crowd doubled from Friday to Saturday at the parks and hotel however. Also the onset of Spring Break.

Cabana Bay is our go to for most of our trips. But for HHN Aventura is great. They have been known to have pizza in the lobby for the 3am nights😅. Also, the Wok Bowls in the Urban Pantry are fiya!🔥

As much as I love Cabana Bay, I’m not a fan of how spread out it is, and how loud and busy it seems to stay. I’d rather stay at Aventura and walk over if i want to bowl or use the lazy river.
No matter what room you get at Aventura, you’re always close to the elevators, lobby, bus. That rooftop bar is cool too!
I also love how easy it is to use the water taxi when staying at Aventura. Just a quick walk over to SF.
That’s fair, it does take a while to even get to the walking path!
As a kid free adult I'm an Aventura guy because of all the things you discussed in the video. The only thing I want to add is how much of a benefit it is to be next door to sapphire falls. You already discussed the water taxi which is huge but also you can pool hop there and they have a really nice pool area with a water slide. They also have really nice food options. That being said whenever I give advice to friends with kids that are thinking about going to universal I tell them Cabana bay every time unless they want a premiere hotel or want a cheaper option which I tell them about Dockside.
Pool hoping and the restaurants are also a good thing to add! That’s a great point! Have you stayed at every hotel on site?
@@fudge_factor I have not stayed at Portofino Bay or Dockside. I stayed at the Hard Rock for one night over 15 years ago. I have my reservation set for Royal Pacific in September for HHN for the 3rd straight year. I like Royal Pacific for the express pass and I like that it's easily walkable to City Walk, Sapphire Falls and Aventura for there restaurants and bar areas. And if the bus isn't there it is an easy walk to volcano bay. I like being able to walk in the morning for early park admission because I feel it's faster than waiting for a boat or bus.
True statements! All the hotels have things to like and are trade offs! There is something for everyone!
