I picked the Rod of Roasting for a Warrior deck with Justicar's Ring and a bunch of armor cards. I lost to the final boss because I thought 85 hp vs 29 hp were good odds.
I find the absence of the old Kripperinoes disturbing

the best way to use it: rogue - pick spell cost -1 - pick weapons cost 1 - 3 mana 3/2 blade that makes you immune for the turn (1 mana thanks to treasure) and 10 mana pyro staff (9 mana thanks to treasure)

You could also try kobold monk and 2 wee spellstopers (?)

I hate Gutmook.
Same, I seem to run into him everytime I have a fun spell based deck and then Gutmook crushes all of my hopes and dreams...
I've never won against any Blackseed and only won once against Gutmook drawing cards once by milling him using boots of speed + auctioneer + bag of coins.
This draw version of Gutmook is a lot easier than the summon minions version imo. I always win against this version by just milling him. Especially if he has the minion that gives him a coin every time you cast a spell to fill his hand faster

I disagree, actually. The Draw version of Gutmook I find much harder, as the version of him just summoning 1/3 troggs is quite easy. You just have to kill the troggs when you summon them, and you can cast all the spells you want. I had a control warrior deck with quadruple health, and I ended up losing to him in fatigue because he had a board full of troggs, I had 2 brawls and a weapon left in my deck, and I drew the weapon.
The only class I even consider taking Rod of Roasting on is Rogue, because they are the only class that can 'game' it. Shadow Blade + Preparation + Rod of Roasting = 10 Mana win
Remember back when Dungeon run came out, I couldn't win with Paladin whatsoever. I think reached a little over 100 bosses defeated with Paladin until I came upon Rod of Roasting and instantly took it. Faced the darkeness that was easily destroying my deck, and I top decked Rod and let Jesus take the wheel! I won, but albeit just barely as the rod was hitting me then the boss then back to me then the boss.
Disappointing end...I expected death by roasting.

I dont think so it is a 10 mana one player looses the game funny in PvE but after having a good game getting blasted by a player with 2 life just because of this card would feel really bad and make tempo decks the only viable option

The first and last time I cast Rod of Roasting, it destroyed all enemy minions from right to left, then all of my minions from right to left, and then hit me in the face 4 times consecutively. It was against the dragon boss, maybe that makes a difference.
the only time i've played rod of roasting was when the enemy boss had evasion up
later stage gutbook is legit bullshit to fight if you're not a 100% minion based deck.

i think if you have enough luck, and just pick warlock, draw cards get lucky and have 4x HP and a rod of roasting. It would be a fun dungeon run :p
To be honest, for like 5 of the classes I would get at least one double vitality and the rod of roasting and I would let jesus take the wheel against the final boss, and it never backfired once surprisingly. But it loved making it close, constant monkaS.

Not sure why Kripp trades so much when the Warden is at 3 mana and missing out on face damage, the AI never coins out his hero power
To be fair, Rod was the only way Kripp could have won that last game. If only he'd had 1 more mana.
It's also worth noting that the Wax Rager Kripp had to pass to pick the Rod most likely would have been enough to win the game if drawn instead of the Rod.

I honestly don't understand why you love dungeon run that much. I enjoy playing it myself a lot but that is because I'm a F2P player and in dungeon run you get to play with all kind of random cards that I don't have in my collection.

I used rod of roasting with ice block and it didn't work. Be warned.
"I have the card back on every single one of my four accounts" -- wait hold on, Kripparrian.
card back = completed runs for all 9 classes
8 bosses defeated x 9 classes x 4 accounts = 288 bosses defeated.
288 bosses x 15+ min (on average) ~ 4320 minutes or 72 hours
And that's not counting the runs in which he lost.
Oh wait I forgot to mention, he's still playing it.
I have almost 150 bosses on hunter because i had very bad luck on him, and almost 100 on warrior so not that much lol :D
I'd say ~6 minutes is a fairer estimate for the average boss. The final boss might take 15-20 mins, but the first 7 are significantly quicker - the first 4 bosses probably take an average of 2-3 mins each, and it's rare that even boss 6 or 7 takes more than 8 minutes in my experience.

You don't have to use it to style a comical hipster mustache, but it is incredibly useful to guys with unruly beards and mustaches if you don't want to look like a homeless person who just woke after sleeping face down in a shopping cart.

Gutmook SUCKS... by FAR one of the harder slot 4-6 bosses you can get. Particularly if you have a spell heavy deck (Mage especially)

Gutmook is one of the most annoying bosses.. him and that one that mind controls your shit every turn, or copies it every turn.

Those things were rotated out for a reason. They still give people Vietnam style flashbacks from several seasons ago, complete with nervous ticks and eye twitching, and night terrors.
The earlier version of him (with 30 health) is way more annoying than this one.
