Got my first Subaru, the 2024 RS, a few weeks ago. Coming from a 2019 Honda Fit, the RS is like a luxury car upgrade. I considered a manual WRX, but I couldn't justify the price + lackluster mileage + premium gas requirement. CVTs generally suck, but this CVT is much better than the Fit. The RS needs a bit more engine breaking going down steep hills, but you can get around that with the paddle shifters. Otherwise, I'm very happy.
This looks better than the WRX,
Just found this channel. You guys made GREAT videos!! I really enjoyed them. Keep going!
Thanks for watching! We have more content on our main channel - Texas Truck Channel.
GTI is about 6k more at least in Ontario Canada
Another reviewer got 7.4 0-60 time. I think it might be a skill and weight issue.
why is this car slower than the 2001 Impreza RS?
The CVT gimps acceleration off the line to reduce wear/abuse. So, 0-60 times will suffer, but rolling starts should be comparable or better.
Just looked at one of these today and I was disappointed in how the Oasis Blue looks in person. It really caught my eye in the videos, but the closer I got, the less impressed I was. Its not Matte but its not really Metallic or Pearl either.
I have a 2018 Impreza hatch. I have gone thru just about every vehicle choice in all manufacture's. Getting a 2.5 with superior AWD checks all the boxes. I Except one, the missing spare.
I think you nailed it when you said it’s a commuter. I’m considering the RS because I prefer Subaru’s real AWD over Mazda’s AWD and Civic doesn’t offer it at all. I commute 80 miles round trip, often in traffic, so a manual ceases to be fun after 45 minutes of stop and go and when traffic is moving the WRX burning premium fuel at 25mpg on the freeway is not good. So here you have a nice, slightly sporty, hatch with the best AWD in the business. The only decision for me is this or a Crosstrek.
My 2020 Sport has most of the features of the RS that they removed from the Sport trim for 2024 (HK audio, 18" wheels). And I at least have a donut spare. Totally not worth trading-in yet.
Lol getting mine next month.
Question: Am I to understand that the windows are TINTED right from the FACTORY ???????
Test try the mazda3 4th gen!!!
Are the factory "squirt-on" engine gasket problems solved on these RS 2.5L engines?
The CVT is great for what the car is intended for. No one but TH-camrs and virgins care about 0-60 time.
No performance improvements. Just badges
Incorrect. +30 HP and a 2-3 second 0-60 time difference. In a sprint, this a big.
