    My spouse went to test drive a Crosstrek but we saw an RS in the showroom amd wondered how it felt driving. He tested both and took the RS home. 🙏🏻 He had an Audi A5 2.0T before and wanted the same feel. The sticker of 32k was a bit much for my taste but…. Not my decision! So far, so good!

      Lol, very nice! I hope the RS serves him well. Thanks for watching! 🙂

    Dash reminds me of my 2022 WRX. Glad the RS wasn’t available when I got my WRX Limited. Probably would have got the RS and then still pined for a WRX.
    I’m jealous of the fuel bill savings and utility of 5th door, but I do love having the extra oomph. RS stitching on headrests and sport-sharp would have made in nearly perfect.
    My wife has a 2017 Impreza Sport 5 door. Only gripe was the ultra small tire side wall. No match for potholes. We swapped the 18s for 16” sparcos and more tire sidewall meat. These are great cars.

      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think you’re right and also glad you went straight to the WRX! Good call on 16” Sparco wheels! I bet that’s one sharp looking Impreza! Thanks for watching. 🙂

    I'd love it if you could also review the Sport model. I want an RS, but the Sport payments would likely be $60-$100 cheaper and may be enough for me. If you can review it, that'd be awesome.

      I was actually hoping to film a Sport today but none were available. It’s still on my radar though! I also did a Base when I did the RS, I’ll upload that one soon! 🙂

    Gerat review. I always look forward to a new post. I really like the RS. Such a useable hatch. More so than the Corolla or 3. Im a little disappointed in the interior material. But it is a subie. For myself not needing AWD. I think i would go Civic hatch. But i sure hope they sell well.

    6:48 - In an "Alex on Autos" review here on TH-cam, Alex mentions that the Impreza has a cutout and mount underneath that fix-a-flat kit area with room for a spare tire (around 7:32 in Alex's Impreza video), so if someone really wants to, it's possible to use the spare tire similar to the Crosstrek (since they're the same body platform).

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great info, thanks for sharing! 🙂 I also filmed a base model I’ll upload soon. I expected that to have a spare because of the 16” wheel size, but unfortunately it also has a fix a flat kit. 🤷‍♂️😢

    I bought the same color RS. I opted not to get the sunroof package though. I have owned enough of them to know they are nothing but problems.

      @robob221 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      do you actually use the sunroof? Usually they break and the seals crack because it was barley used. You owned Subaru's long term that leaked? I owned a 2009 forest with a sunroof and it had 145,000 miles on it without issues. I loved my sunroof, used it regularly.

      @@robob221 I have owned 2 vehicles with sunroofs in the past. Granted none of them were subarus. They were used periodically, maybe a few times per month. Both leaked and 1 needed the motor replaced. Havent bought a vehicle with a sunroof since and dont miss it one bit.

      I plan to get this because it checks all the boxes for what I want, with all the options and features with the optional package. But I wish I could get the Harmon Kardon Stereo without the sunroof, and maybe even the power adjust driver's seat.
      I only previously had one car with a sunroof I traded in after five years to get something else. I took real good care of it, and the sunroof had no problems, though I hardly used it. I always kept it clean and lubricated the weather seals.

      @@gohan2355 for the 2024 RS? The base impreza does fine mpg wise. But the RS has the bigger engine and seems to be getting bad mpg. Like one reviewer got 22. And 2 others got 24 and 25.

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      When I borrow cars it’s just for the day, and so much time is spent idling that I don’t consider it. I don’t get week long press cars like the big established channels who live in more populated areas (hopefully someday 😉). So I can only speculate which isn’t likely helpful.
      But I will say when I owned a 2.0 Crosstrek it averaged the highway rating. And my Outback Wilderness can get several above highway rating. But it’s due to my low traffic commute, driving style, and understanding of the CVT characteristics. I can completely understand how others in city traffic or an unfamiliar understanding of these cars characteristics would get much worse mpg. Thanks for watching! 🙂

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208

      I really like Honda and think they have fantastic reliability and often age very well. If I didn’t live in a snowy climate I would likely choose the Civic (depending on how it’s spec’d). But because I live in the mountains it would have to be the Subaru. That’s also due to the type of driving I do for my day job. Best of luck in what you decide! 🙂

    How is the audio system?

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    • @robob221
      @robob221 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AutomotiveAnonymous208 yea I know the factory is just ok, been in a couple new Subarus, more so interested in the HK. My moms legacy as the HK sub in the back and I liked how the low end filled in the cabin. Does the HK system in the Impreza do the same? Feels strong? I know it doesn't have a sub, just the door speakers for low end.

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Subaru AWD does incredible well in the fairly deep snow! It’s quite a bit better than other AWD systems that are FWD biased. I’ve put about 70k on the two Subaru’s that I’ve owned, much better than any 4WD truck I’ve e owned in the snow. The factory tires are good, but a better tire would make it even better. A Subaru with snow tires is likely unstoppable as long as you don’t high center it, lol. I think a Subaru ‘can’ last as long as a Honda, but I would imagine a decently lower percentage of Subaru’s make it to say 300k than Hondas or Toyotas. That’s my experience and opinions on your question, so take it with a grain of salt! 🙂

    • @St23-sd9qr
      @St23-sd9qr 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Great thanks. Although some or most cars are typically are not made to last that long anymore, I just wanted to see if it would at least last me from 200k to 250k miles tops. I mean I have also heard mixed reviews on a Subarus reliability, but tend to hear they are overall very good cars. This Impreza, whether it be Sport or RS in my opinion, goes as top choice for me in almost every aspect, when it's time to get a car again.

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  ปีที่แล้ว

      For the vast majority of people who never take their car down anything more treacherous than a gravel road, or a parking lot with speed bumps, the Impreza makes a lot more sense. The handling is much better.
