“Safely” only because it prevents sunburn and cancer, but it’s still awful for your skin, because you tan as a protective mechanism when your cells are damaged by UV light. Just get a spray tan, or self-tan.
@@Sunny-kz9kn being in the sun is healthy if you do it safely such as sunscreen. Sunscreen protects against burns and the UV rays. It’s fine as long as you protect yourself and do it in moderation.
@@themimsy the fact of the matter is that your skin does not tan unless it is damaged by UV rays. Just because you’re safe from a burn doesn’t mean it isn’t causing damage. I’m not saying never let the sun touch you, but tanning is still sun damage and there are better alternatives.

You can get a spray tan from most tanning salons and yes, it’ll show up. At home self-tanners may show up splotchy if you’re not familiar with the process or don’t follow the instructions/use the right applicators. If you just want an occasional spray tan, the salon is the route to go. Chain tanning salons have some of the best prices too.
What do you need a spray tan for if you have tan adjacent skin? That'll just make you look orange. (Unless you can find a specially engineered spray tan brand)
My exes mum used to insist on doing fully exposed "sun baths" as soon as the sun was out. She was against sun cream and only in her 40s but already had age spots on her hands and arms. Her skin had a sort of leathery appearance in some areas.

I coat myself in sunscreen every hour I'm outside but the tan is inescapable if I want to swim. It's like I spend 15 minutes swimming and boom I'm a whole shade of foundation darker
Sunscreen does not prevent tanning, only damage. The only way not to tan is to cover the skin. You could look into "Arabic/Muslim/Islamic " Swimsuits for women (i suppose) they cover your whole body while still being usable ;x Though face will still get tanned
@LucyYuka "Sunscreen works by blocking or absorbing UV radiation, which is responsible for tanning and burning." Damage still happens bud, just more slowly. If you tan, you damage skin, unless it's spray tan
UV tan IS okay if you use sun screen. You can still get a tan that way. The point isn't that you don't use any sun screen at all otherwise caucasian people won't be tan they'll just be a fried crab. Use sun screen and then apply skin-friendly tapes on the areas you don't want to tan. Do it for like a week or two and you'll be having them awesome summer tattoos!
