I learnt to manage my money through investments and it really works for me. They say money can't buy happiness but poverty can't buy anything.!

Whichever firm you select, make sure you get your insurance from a reputable financial adviser, such as *Jenny Pamogas Canaya,* who has dedicated her career to financial planning. Because they will assist you in escalating, navigating better, and completing the task in a safer manner..|

I began investing at the age of 33, primarily utilizing my hard work and dedication. Now at the age of 38, I am delighted to share that my passive income exceeded $100k for the first time in a single month. This advice is truly valuable, so don't hesitate to take action. Remember, it's not about achieving wealth quickly, but rather about building wealth consistently and persistently.

Yea... I don't think this is very good advice for seniors... Probably should not start investing in equities at an age when the risk can ruin your retirement.

Agree. They should only invest money that they can lose, while keeping the vast majority of their capital in conservative investments with low risk.

Depending on the financial education, it can differ. Many seniors in SG still waste money on TOTOand other lotteries, how worse can this be? Of course this is not for all.

You may also lose money if you invest early at a young age. The mindset is different.

If you are at around age 60+ and in a bull market I think it would be best to cash out. Why? What if you are already 70+ years old and the market in a bear cycle... how can you cash out?

It is a very bad idea to ask seniors to invest unless they are really financially savvy in the first place. Things like equities, option trading, structured products ... etc are not something you can simply learn unless you got someone who is really knowledgeable in this field to guide you. Not forgetting the average joe down the street would not have any inking as to what is going on in the market as they do not have reports available to them to study on.

@2:37 why is the comparison so skewed. should show age 35, invest until 45 (also 10 years, also 90k) then compound until 65, that will show the difference of starting late versus early better 2:37

Agree with you that both investors should pump monthly for 10 years then stop, and we see how much they have at 65, but I think the main point the video is trying to put forth is, if we started late by 10 years, even if we pump monthly for 30 years, we will still have far less than someone started 10 years earlier and pump monthly for only 10 years

Assumption of average returns of 9% is a sure fire way to lose your pants. Only a very small number of people in this world can ride through multiple cycles over multiple decades. Sounds easy but it is very very difficult. At 65, Invest with only a smaller portion, not everything for sure

I certainly wish I started investing in several ways earlier decades ago. I was too irresponsible back then spending all my money on non-essential things. When I look back I feel so ashamed. I missed a lot of opportunities. Now I am doing much better but time cannot be bought.
Edit: about the choice of investment the S&P500 or other indexes are a great and easy way to make money, however it is not wise investing. What I mean is that you should know what companies you are investing in. Do you support that company? Do you know the consequences that company has on the world and people's lives?
A simple example is companies who make war materials to fight a battle that causes lots of chaos and deaths. If you don´t support that war then you should not invest in a company like that. But with indexes or ETF's there is a high chance that it contains companies who do more harm than good. So invest wisely. There are many other examples. Where money goes, power grows. We create our own world depending in what companies you invest.

The advantage of investment from the 60th year of age is plenty of time to go full time. As he's already retired means he no longer has family commitments like monetary. And he also got no career planning. And because he has retired, He has more funds to go in. But again not every person is rated as high risks or lowest risks in the battlefield. He must be very careful in what or how to invest because if he lost big, more a second chance to build his long time saving. If he lost big, may even be retired in heaven. Not cursing but just my thoughts

Oil n gas, transportation n tech, 1 n 3 are volatile sectors, transportation is much better. Oil is down lately n tech last week was good. Setup your stop-loss Mr Retiree n preserves your capital. Buy REIT,it’s been clobbered, should slowly recover once interest rate is cut ,late 2024.JMO 😂😂

u dont need 750sgd /mth invested over 40 yrs to built retirement money. 250 / sgd is enough. 250 sgd per month over 40 years on a 10% CAGR, will return 1.4 million.
if u need more, then as u grow older just incrementally increase it. second, dont use FI, learn how to navigate the equities market w/o a FI, the fees can help save to help to stretch your dollars much more.
