    For anyone like me who doesn’t have a none heated indoor place and are in zone 7, you can bury your rose in it’s pot in the ground close to your house. So essentially you are planting it in its pot in the ground. I’ve talked with long ago roses about this and she’s says this should be successful! Though I can’t speak for colder regions. But it’s a great method for one gallon roses you don’t think are ready for your soil (example clay like mine)

    I wish you would talk more about zones because the advice you're giving here certainly hasn't applied to me in zone 8B. I have my roses on a deck, don't have a greenhouse, land, or any place to bring them inside. I've left them in place for a couple of years and they've come back strong in the spring. Please talk to folks like me.

      Hi Lisa! I don't have experience outside of zone 7. We have such a high humidity that my advice is geared toward those that struggle with black spot.

    Thank you so much for this video. I grew my first rose in a container this year and need to overwinter it in my garage - Zone 5b, Ontario Canada. This is the first video I’ve seen that addressed all of my questions and has made me feel more confident about the process. 🙏💚

    Great video! I was able to overwinter roses that I received in February, in my unheated garage in my zone 5 area. Just watered them lightly once a week and they came around really well.

    My fall order is arriving this week. I live in zone 7A but I plan on planting everything. As long as I can dig, they should be fine as the roots do grow during the winter. I will mulch up high. I realize it's an experiment but I don't mind taking that chance. My main reason for getting it in now, is because I want a big show in spring.

    This Seville Classics rack rolls very smoothly, even with dozens of potted roses and plants on it.

    Hey, I actually remove all leaves from roses before putting plants inside for winter, heard this prevent all bugs and infections

    Hi Kim, My new garden shade has no window, so it’s dark inside. No sunlight can enter. If I place my few potted roses inside this shade to winterize, will they be ok? Please advice.

    Hi I'm new to roses and have planted about 15 in large 20-in pots, plastic pots that is. I am already researching for the fall and how to keep them safely winterized. I have a green reinforced plastic greenhouse which is quite large 8x10 I believe, would that be a satisfactory spot to place all of these plants for the winter? Should I need to huddle them together? I'm in zone 7B which is now 8. Thanks for any help! Love the video😊

      Yes. Huddle them together. This video may help you on how I winterize.

    Thank you so much. You suggested me to winterize tiny Oso easy mango salsa early this spring. They grow beautifully in a 3 gallon size now. I would like to winterize them in a cool garage this winter. Should I do again in the next winter? How many winters do I winterize them before I put permanently in the ground?

    Hi Kim, Did you ever use Bonide MiteX on the potted roses or on rooted potted rose cuttings in winter while they are indoor? Is it good?

    • @TheRoseGeek
      @TheRoseGeek  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't use anything but Horticultural oil. Bonide MiteX is a great product though. You should give it a try.

    Hi Kim, I have some potted baby roses which I propagated from cuttings this summer and Fall. They are between between 4 and 7 inches tall. Should I keep them under grow light during the day when it is cloudy, no sun? I am keeping them in front of a sliding glass door in the sun in sunny days.Also I have a shed (unheated, no light) and a small wooden framed clear plastic unheated greenhouse in my backyard. Should I put these propagated baby plants ( 4 to 7 inches tall) in these outdoor shed or greenhouse?

    • @TheRoseGeek
      @TheRoseGeek  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think that you should keep them where they have been happy until spring Sarmishtha. Once spring arrives, you are going to want to slowly get them used to daylight hours and harden them off from the artificial light. Just like you harden plants that arrive from vendors, you will do the same with your prop'd roses.

    I’m growing in zone 6b and started planting roses in pots, will they be okay if I move them inside an unheated shed? Or is better to pile them up and cover with mulch? Thank you

    • @TheRoseGeek
      @TheRoseGeek  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Either will work great for you but the unheated shed is a great way to winterize them. You will just need to make sure you watch the moisture of the soil so that they don't dry out too much. I would water them once a month.

    Hi Kim, Few of my roses are in 8 gallon pots. Should I put them inside the Garden Shed now? Or wait until November?

    • @TheRoseGeek
      @TheRoseGeek  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would wait until your temps are consistently 35 degrees. You want the roses to slow down and the cool temps will help with that.

    Hi Kim, I received the bareroot roses and potted them up and kept them in my unheated closet. The temperature stays about 57/ 58 F. and humidity 44/45 % inside the closet. Will they be ok? Or should I keep a humidifier running there in the closet?

    • @TheRoseGeek
      @TheRoseGeek  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They will be fine. They will wake up slowly in these temps and that is a good thing.
