    Thank You for being so patient and repeating the Process Over and over. Some people may be annoyed by that but I think it is what make you an EXCELLENT Teacher. I need that kind of instruction.

    Mark, I love your work. I have a suggestion for this weave that I tried.
    On your cords, pull out about six inches of the inner strings and cut. Straighten out the cord. Fold the cords over with the hollow ends on the back side. Tie the folded part down, but make this tie temporary as you will be removing it. Now start your weave. When you are about three to four inches along, remove the temporary ties and start pulling on the loose ends that were tucked underneath.Then if you want you can tie off the loose ends or leave them. This came off looking very nice on a sample I did. Thanks again for your videos. Like your work, Mike

    The wipping is started with a clove hitch then raps and ended with a clove hitch.

    • @Paracordguild
      @Paracordguild  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey!
      There is little difference between a constrictor and a clove hitch. The constrictor is more permanent and more secure in my opinion.

    thank you Marc. this is a great idea. I know it depends a lot on the circumference of the wheel, but approximately how much cord should we allow for this project?

    • @Paracordguild
      @Paracordguild  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey!
      I used about 11 feet per cord for a 13 inch weave. The diameter of this wheel was about 1 3/8 inches.

      Hey there!
      This is the herringbone style paracord bracelet. I have made a tutorial on this one:
      th-cam.com/video/OjxurTBByMg/w-d-xo.html
      The bracelet I am wearing includes a lanyard knot as the ending knot and a gaucho knot as an accent knot on each side. It was a gift from Scott W. Johnson, a fellow knot tier I respect greatly.
      Have a look at the bracelets up close here:

  • @reverendfawkes6138

    I recently did a steering wheel with this wrap. I do have a question, though. Is it common for the wrap itself to wander slightly? Right at the beginning of the knot, the bights were staying relatively straight, but as I continued, they became more and more slanted. Any way to counteract that?

    This is awesome! I want it to go around entire wheel. I would need to use several lengths of cord I think. It would be too hard with 100 foot cords. Or do it in sections like you have. What is that type of needle called? Sorry, I just started watching. I am very handy and crafty, but never saw a big needle like that with cord connected in end.

    • @Paracordguild
      @Paracordguild  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey!
      You can use the 3 stranded ringbolt hitching and use shorter cords!
      th-cam.com/video/y3u7V4JHEDY/w-d-xo.html
      The needle is called a lacing needle.

      I just wrapped the top portion of my steading wheel on my 1994 4runner. It took about 16 feet of length and was a pain in the butt at first because the cord kept getting tangled in itself. What I did was wrapped the cord up leaving about 2 feet out at a time. It made it so much easier.

  • @kennya5165
    @kennya5165 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very well done, I can see you are well practiced at this by how you manage the lay of the cord. I'm curious though, two years later, how did this hold up? Did the woggles move? Did anything come loose? I've been wanting to do this to my steering wheel as well but I tend to keep a firm grip and I'm worried it will come apart. I also plan to use dark colors so it doesn't look dirty over time.

    • @andyliles6250
      @andyliles6250 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kenny A all this stuff loosens up over time. It's just the way the cord is and the nature of it. I always explain to folks how to tighten up their stuff when they buy it and always tell em for the love of God don't take apart the knots! Bring it back so I can fix it! 😎🤘🏼💯

      I thought so at first! But he went over the process several times and showed exactly which cord to pull thru. If you look at your cords, and the one that is farthest back, that is always the cord that you will pull around and thru next. As long as you keep track of going left, then right.. this seems fairly doable. Going out to get paracord today! (but I will probably get 3 different colors 😜)
