I make walking sticks and that's the main reason I wanted to learn using paracord to make my sticks easier to hold. Great video. Just what I was looking for. Thanks
Had to fix a retirement gift I bought for someone in the Marines, they sent me the wrong color combination on the handle and with not much time left, didn't have time for them to remake. This video made lacing from a noob who had never done it ever before look like a professional did it. It looks actually bad ass, and now I have acquired newfound knowledge and skills that I can recreate!
That HF survival knife, with handle embellishment, makes a nice Xmas gift for that uncle for whom you can't think of anything more appropriate. If nothing else, he'll enjoy showing it off. A client has commissioned a number of them for the coming holiday.
This is turning into a really good looking bracelet because the maker is making sure that each new weave is laying flat and facing the same way every time good work
I know this was months ago but just found this 1 whish is great imo, my question is how tight is this on your walking stick and does it /or will it ever unraveled itself? Thanks for the reply in advance
I'm watching and wondering myself. I'm guessing that it slides because there isn't anything to cause friction. Was going to wrap my walking stick this way but might not now.
Yeah, the term fid has become a little hazy in modern times. Depending on who you ask, fids can be anything from a screw-on needle like the one we use in this video, to the classic awl type of tool used to spice large ropes.
I just braided a knife handle and want to know how to tighten it. I did the braid loose to get the fid through easily. I will try going back to the start and tighten all the loops individually. Should from the start it all be tight? I'm thinking after every several rows to tighten it up, do several more rows tighten it up, etc., to the entire length. Is there a preferred way?
Can this handle wrap be done on a CRKT Sting? The handle from the butt end gets wider, then skinnier then wider one more time before getting to it's widest point prior to becoming the blade of the dagger. Or must this be done on a constant diameter handle? Also, the Sting is somewhat flat on two sides, not round where you grip it.
That finish seems easy to undo and incomplete. Would have liked to seen options for finishing. "How you want?" I don't know how I want which is why i'm watching this video to find out how. Otherwise very clear. Thanks!
@@killit9727 We have blog post that lists a bunch of handle wraps if you are looking for ideas. You should be able to tell from the pictures which ones work well on flat handles. www.paracordplanet.com/blog/wrap-it-all-the-25-best-paracord-handle-wraps/ Hope that helps!
I wished to god someone would do a damn video with a left handed person tying these fucking knots I’m so frustrated trying for 2 weeks to tie a 5x something which knows Turk heads knot to cover up a slight mistake on a dog leash I made and my shit just don’t look like they do on vid cause I’m left handed shit excuse my wording but right now I’m fit to be tied

Thanks for re-making this tutorial.

A trick : watch movies on flixzone. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Keenan Aden yea, been watching on Flixzone for since december myself :D

Why aren't there any answers to the questions asked here?
But how do you lock the end in, so it stays locked in?
The wrap protects the og handle so its cool for me
Great Video !!!!! (When you ask a knocker what they have made its usually nothing!!!)
Thanks for this much easier to follow this time.
Thanks! Very good demonstration!
Great video , easy instructions, thank you for sharing
Well done. Thank you good sir!!
I got lost 7 seconds in there's got to be an easier way. Did one 12 years ago on a knife it was super easy but forgot.

I need a fid after years of making paracord belts n bracelets lol.
Definitely useful to have around!
You don't need a fid. You need a lacing needle.
Otherwise, thanks for fixing the previous iteration of this tutorial!

How do you add more cord if it's necessary or the length of cord you start with doesn't fit the length of the knife handle?
Thank you

Does it matter if you do an even or odd number of knots on the first pass around?
If you are doing a large knife handle would it look the same if you pull out the center strands?
It would look pretty different, but it would likely work.
Excellent 10 points
I loved your creations
why don't you do the covid 19 in paracord?

Will this work on a flat handle?
It would be tricky on an absolutely flat handle, though I haven't tried it. A handle with an oval cross section would work fine.
What would you recommend on a flat handle? Looking for something different
