  • Blaine Gabbert was a 5* recruit coming out of high school and chose to play for Missouri. He had a solid career there and became a top 10 NFL draft pick. He played for the Jaguars, the 49ers, the Cardinals, the Titans, and now the Buccaneers. He was supposed to be a superstar, but what happened? Enjoy!

    NFL defenses are so complex now, elite QBs have to be able to process route trees with multiple receivers. So you don't need to be 6-5 with a rocket arm anymore; what's between the ears is just as important.

      That was my sophomore year of college. I was tailgating right outside Faurot Field with no ticket to the game. With the clock winding down, I went up to a MUPD officer and student who was working the entrance and begged to be let in for the final seconds. The cop then pretended to get a call on his radio and walked away, and the student worker let me thru the gate with just enough time to make it down the stairs and rush the field with the first wave of students. Easily one of my favorite memories from college! M-I-Z! Z-O-U! GO TIGERS!

      Dennis Cregan II That is awesome man! Holy crap! Haha. My buddy and I were 13 years old by ourselves because my dad ended up having to work. Watching drunk college guys hit on Erin Andrews in the front row at College Gameday and storming the field about getting trampled made it the best night of my life. It will be right up there even when my first child is born lmao.

    Being a respected "backup" QB in the NFL is no small achievement. I remember when he got the starting job in the 2015 season for the 49ers, due to Kaepernick's ineffectiveness, and how he pulled off a stunning road win in Chicago, with a rushing TD late in the 4th quarter, and then, after each side had a possession in OT, meaning that the game was now in "Sudden Death", upon getting the ball back on their own 29-yard line, threw a bomb to Torrey Smith, who outran the Bear safety for the remaining 20 or so yards, to waltz into the end zone and seal a 49er 26-20 win over "Da Bears"...and there weren't many that year! That Gabbert has had twelve seasons in the NFL speaks for itself.

  • @anondescriptobserver6774
    @anondescriptobserver6774 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Gabbert needed to play that last year in college, he wasn't consistent enough at that level to start in the NFL when he declared. I don't blame him, though, when you get #1 overall pick hype it's time to go. Also, his leaving gave James Franklin three years to start instead of two - we don't break out in 2013 if Franklin doesn't play in 2011.

    Been watching Mizzou since the late 80's.... Gabbert to me, was one of the most overated prospects and Mizzou players of all time. His biggest flaw as a QB overall was his decision making, this was true at Mizzou and early on as a pro.. a lot of pressure was put on him due to these Nike camps that he really didn't earn.. he only really had 1 decent year in high school and was hurt his senior year... How does that make you a 4-5 star recruit? No resume... Nothing.. he got that because of his "intangibles"... His youngest brother was better than him in my opinion..
