    This sister is not only conscious but of double consciousness. She's a queen.

      +Lethal Spectre I think when he called her a queen it could be a figure of speech referring to her demeanor. She is a very intelligent, caring and beautiful woman.

      Thanks for clarifying that for me because in the English language you can speak maybe 3 to 4 dialect and be misunderstood. I do say herself and Griff use to share that ying yang balance.

    The way sister is articulating and presenting things is remarkable.
    You can tell it's positive.
    She might be flawed as any of us, but what she does undeniably aims at elevateing black peeps. I can only big that up.
    She must obviously invest time and energy to aquire that knowledge and make it accessible to others.
    So if she does that for a living, what is the problem???
    Are you gonna pay her bills?
    I read a lot of stupid shit in the comments that state she being a hustler etc.
    What greater hustle than that? Educating? Elevating?
    You professional haters need to STFU forever.

      Zaza Ali is right and wrong about giving dark sistahs compliments, and I do it all the time because a beautiful Black woman is striking, but to elevate women to queens is a no-no. We need to reward people for achievement when they are achieving, not just for being Black and Beautiful. ZaZa should know better and do better in giving such advise.

    • @dhginadean
      @dhginadean 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Being black and beautiful (inwardly) IS an achievement!!! But that achievement was acquired long before the fleshly incarnation. I mean how to you ACHIEVE beauty??? No...put the crown back on the heads of these sisters...they were born with it!!!

    • @danilopompey754
      @danilopompey754 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      dhgina dean, natural beauty is not an achievement; it's and attribute. In society, we build up culture; Therefore, cultural beauty is defined by a cultural standard; otherwise, beauty would simply be a natural attribute. In society, as in culture, you earn recognition by your achievements; therefore, no sistah should be given such recognition - unless she has achieved or exceeded the current cultural standard of beauty. Hair-hats cannot be rewarded by Black culture since hair-hats are emulating a White standard of beauty, which is irrelevant in Black culture. (lol) QED

    • @dhginadean
      @dhginadean 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      danilo pompey probably a matter of opinion and definitely a matter of "spiritual"disposition. i don't subscribe to cultural norms in many areas...see where i come from, a hueman born into this dimension is inexplicable, undeniable beauty. societies definition comes from a program that i don't respect. so cultural beauty is actually "code-ural" beauty...based on a code that was written and meant for society to follow... its all relative to where your head is at.

    • @danilopompey754
      @danilopompey754 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      dhgina dean, you may not “subscribe,” your word, to paying your income tax, but if you fail to pay, you do that at your own risk. In America, the dominate "culture," my word, is White, and so it is understandable that Americans, White and Black, are indoctrinated to follow the dominant culture's standards. That is not a matter of opinion; that is fact, thus we have hair-hats, that is, Black folks emulating White standards of beauty for hair.
      On the other hand, it actually takes courage to balk at the dominate culture’s norms, thus we have Black folks, Nicki Manaj and Lil Kim come to mind, who are lightening their skin to meet White preferences in skin color. This means you are wrong when you say there is "undeniable beauty" since there is no such thing as beauty devoid of a culturally definition because what is beautiful in one culture is ugly in another.
      Here's my point. Dog owners may outnumber cat owners by 1000 to 1. As a result, a person may only see commercials for dog food advertised on TV since there are so many compared to cat food commercials. Nonetheless, if cat owners start feeding their cats dog food, you have a demonstrable pathology since dog food is harmful to cats, really. This is the predicament a lot of Blacks are in. They see so much whitely defined beauty that they think what is White is right - even though White cultural indoctrination is not meant for Blacks; it's actually meant for and directed at Whites. (lol) QED

    Why does no one see that it is the MEN that fuel this fire. SOME black women who are insecure go to these extremes to be attractive to them! If your a little chocolate girl who is "cute to be dark", sees all the attention from her black man going to only light skinned and or white women what do you expect? Black men have a lot to do with the self hate by some black women. Whether we accept or reject it. Black men have to be accountable to this issue!

    Growing up in Africa, I hated when I hear grown ups calling a fair skinned kid "American baby" while the darker child is standing right there. Somehow, the grown ups do realize that say that affects the both kids when they grow. The sad situation is that today, the same situation is worse. We show more foreign shows on our TV than our own local people and shows. All these things affect a nation, when you are showing other cultures more in your own country than your own. Great interview and discussion! Thanks for sharing!

    This abortion issue with black people is so complicated. I am all for the percentage of black people in America increasing. But, we need to do this RESPONSIBLY. Just having babies for the sake of having babies will only make things worse. Honestly, with all the abortions already, we still have so many of our young black men filling up prisons and on and on.

    • @ericdimarco5545
      @ericdimarco5545 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's factually untrue. Gay people can conceive children without actually being with the opposite sex. That's an excuse to say: I have Christian views, I believe family = man and woman, therefore we can be anti-gay. If you just researched the history of homosexuality in African culture, you'd find even our ancestors didn't see it that way.

      nalo 101, Black folks don't have a franchise on hardships. Get over it. Take you, you will be hard-pressed to get anywhere if you don't go to school and do your homework and learn something. So, it's nobody' s fault but your own. You can hardly put a coherent sentence together. Fix that and you will go far - regardless of your race. (lol) QED

      danilo pompey dear danilo since you want to go there. You don't determine a damn thing. What I said was my opinion about black girls and colorism, just because u have a complex about black people having problem in the damn world is not my problem.
      If you don't like what I said take your "kumbya" ass somewhere else.

    • @danilopompey754
      @danilopompey754 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      nalo 101, it is unfortunate that you were offended because I may not have liked what you said since it is what it is. As a linguist, I do believe I can determine language competency - whether you like it or not. But since you cleaned your sh*t up, I'm certainly happy that you are showing more respect for yourself by putting your bona fides forward. I do commend you. However, given your reaction to my comment, I do suggest that if you cannot defend your opinion, consider not posting it to this silly forum. Finally, if anybody has a complex, my guess is that it is probably you since you were so quick to attempt to project it onto me - since I think I’m okay, really. So, if you cannot take the heat, consider retreating back to the kitchen - where you apparently belong. (lol) QED

    I really enjoyed this commentary. Its a great feeling to see strong women like this especially in the black community, as it gives other black women strength and courage. Since you touched on the homosexual agenda, have you seen the video of the woman and her family marching through targy in protest of their transgender bathroom descisson? id love to hear your opinion.

    Prior to watching this video, I purposely made sure I told every BLACK woman with natural hair that I saw in the streets how beautiful her hair was. However, I have actually ran into some black feminist women that have scolded me repeating the line "I am not my hair"...Now this black man is so apprehensive. I thought I was doing good.

    Not understanding the criticism of abortion! Where are the fathers, uncles, brothers and sons who should be protecting their daughters? Where are the men that get these girls and women pregnant then abandon them? What are the consequences of child abandonment? It's got to be said, being Black and being homosexual is presented as being one in the same in the west; and it seems a lot of Black Peoples and some Afrikans are more than willing to destroy themselves further while considering themselves so low, powerless and worshipping their historical enemies.What are the consequences of such behaviours? Interesting presentation, thanks.

      Well she did state that because gays do not reproduce (of course, that is incorrect) they do not contribute. She came across very homophobic, especially against effeminate gay men.

    i totally agree with you on the music issue Zaza its a fact that one of the government branches is the entertainment branch witch monitors, manipulate and control the industry, and radio station lik KMEL and other major radio stations. I know i used to work for KPFA in berkeley and they actually have some one listening and monitoring your every selection and your discussion topics... dj;s are told what they can or cannot play. if you do what they ask you get prime time spots, and if you dont your simply fired thats why they play the same GARBAGE NATION WIDE.. its to keep you on a certain frequency a certain level of thinking and programed!.. When we get our own broadcasting net work set up it will change over night, we will be in control of whats good for us and listen to

    You wanna get rid of colorism, stop calling mixed people black, how about you start there.
    Yall complain about darkskin vs lightskin, yet every chance you get, you wanna include some 15% black genetics having ass, into the black race.

    • @Lashid4u
      @Lashid4u 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +GunStreets WHY IS IT that biracial women are BLACK when you wanna get with 'em (and not be seen as a "sellout") ..but when you see biracials showing some unity with their fellow Black sistas, then, you MUST remind us that they are "NOT Black", as if you just wanna see sistas, continuously, feeling in "competition" with each other? ..and although it should be recognized that she is BIRACIAL, we should not, totally, denounce the BLACK that is within her (which would be denouncing her father) ..Also, it's about her cultural upbringing, and her racial experiences...

    • @GunStreets-ct1kj
      @GunStreets-ct1kj 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Lashid4u you know whats crazy. As i was writing my comments, i somehow knew you (LASHIDA) WOULD respond to me, and here you are lol.

    • @GunStreets-ct1kj
      @GunStreets-ct1kj 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lashid4u Lashida the reason why black men get with mixed women, IS because they are mixed. You know why those black men call them black? Because #1 most of those mixed chicks are confused and refer to themselves as black. #2, They would receive so much BACKLASH from sistas if they would openly acknowledge their mixed girlfriend. Its black women mostly that go around desperately claiming every mixed looking woman, not men, so please dont deflect from your accountability.

    • @dre9086
      @dre9086 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +GunStreets if a person is at least 50% black I can accept them, I for one am only 63% black. also the woman in this video is not "mixed" she has light skin parents which is understandable because of the average african american genetic background
