I think he is saying the church needs to evolve not necessarily accepting of the lifestyle, but in a way of being more welcoming of others to be able to influence those who are wrongly led. I understand what he was saying I grew up in the church knowing I had same sex attractions and my pastor handled me very honestly and carefully, he was never disrespectful or crass but never pretended to agree just tried to understand the battles I faced. This was the defining moment when I backed off from following TD Jakes. He previously was a GREAT teacher of the word and had a powerful ministry for years. His example of Paul's comments about a woman wearing a head dressing in church is not on the same level as a community in which threatens the very definition of marriage. If the bible is in fact the word of God, and am not completely sure anymore that it is, then it has been used wrong to suppress rather than uplift and unite folk. Where do you stand on that? This was the defining moment when I backed off from following TD Jakes. He previously was a GREAT teacher of the word and had a powerful ministry for years. However here he clearly compromised basic Biblical doctrine so not to offend those in the pop culture. That way he wouldn't lose support and be more accepted by them.

We all know he is not going to say its a sin or wrong, because once he disagrees with homosexuality, he might not get another movie deal, celebs will stop coming to his church, he will lose members and money for preaching truth. Mr. Jakes is obviously minimizing the seriousness of the subject. His example of Paul's comments about a woman wearing a head dressing in church is not on the same level as a community in which threatens the very definition of marriage. The LGBT movement is the only organization that literally has a movement that asks the church to change it's view on what the Bible is very clear about! Jake's is an outstanding speaker, but he is just going in circles in this interview. I'm amazed at the gall of some of today's so called "men of God" when they have the audacity to question the word of God as it was inspired to his servants to write! Lets face it, this is a type of strong delusion that the Bible talks about in the last days. Why can't he take a stand for God's word?
