- Comedian and actor Chris Rock has the COVID-19 virus despite getting the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
He tweeted, “Trust me you don’t want this. Get vaccinated.”
A new CDC study agrees with Rock as data collected from 13 states for the first six months of this year, shows almost 90% of hospitalizations come from unvaccinated adults and only 4% for adults who are fully vaccinated.
Rizza Islam, member of the Nation of Islam, and pulmonary and critical care physician Dr. Cedric "Jamie" Rutland, joins Marc Lamont Hill on “Black News Tonight” to discuss the vaccine debate.

@@keyajohnson8391 Those lawsuits usually stem from the companies not divulging the side effects or maybe them not knowing the long term effects that pop up years later. Same with cigarettes. You can't sue them anymore because there is a warning on how harmful they can be. If you choose to smoke, that's on you. Now you do bring up a point about mandating a vaccine and possible side effects. I imagine in a few years if something comes up there will be hell to pay. But the original poster was being a smart ass, there is no widespread evidence that these vaccines have caused people to die. So to ask such a question is stupid.

I felt the questioning was biased and when Brother Rizza gave informed and intelligent answers, the host opposed or ignored the stated facts presented. Why would Congress and their families and their staff be exempt from the mandate? Why would they lay a blanket exemption on this shot? How did Moderna and J&J crawl out of massive bankruptcy stemming from lawsuits? When was the last time we heard about cancer or flu season, or any other serious incurable diseases? The Doctor said something interesting about your lungs becoming congested. The key is to keep your lungs 🫁 clear. It would be difficult to get sick if your lungs are clear. Miller is a quack though and I can tell people know jack about this book. People who don't know what they're talking about are listening to this Rizza dude, who also doesn't know what he's talking about and think what he says has some basis in reality. Most of these anti-vax studies in that book aren't worth the paper they're written on. If you don't understand the flawed methodology and how the data is being interpreted (incorrectly), then you probably think Rizza is spitting facts. If it's anti-vax, Rizza is gonna believe it.

I work in a hospital and I has seen nurses keep patients on oxygen after getting covid when they don't need it anymore. They eventually become oxygen dependent and develop weak lungs.
I spoke to a nurse who works in Covid and she said if you know someone with Covid in the hospital, take them out because they are not getting the care and attention they need.

Making hindsight claims of natural immunity versus acquired immunity concerning the novel (which means never encountered by humans) Covid 19 virus response could NOT have been theoretically made until it's been scrutinized after study. The main point of contention is natural immunity can be achieved IF you're able to survive your body's immune response to the virus. The vaccines allow a more immediate and measured immune response found to be survivable (safest) for the general population. The variant Delta is the ultimate in infection and subsequent illness, counter to the original infection the vaccines were designed to combat. The best claims of care/response are from doctors daily face to face with those suffering from infections as we speak here. Plus, the Nation of Islam molds great orators. A balance between commonality and scholarship, that’s a purposefully skill when trying to reach our people in the masses.
Personally, I would have rather that these two who come from different camps came up with relevant and constructive things for our people to follow since the health risk is skewed in our demographic. There’s much nuance between black people and medicine our media should address that.

The main difference in takes many have been favoring is now facing an actual, active practitioner giving his take. These discussions are usually hampered by the inability to fact check claims in real time. Kudos to both brothers for presenting their sides eloquently.

Everything that they were talking about is listed on the CDC website. The problem is those who are able to fact check are silenced or canceled.

I love how RIzza asked the doctor about natural immunity and the doctor just danced around the question and didn’t answer it. That’s how you know that these doctors are being paid to push this product. If you’re a doctor just answer the question matter-of-factly. Don’t dance around it and try to use medical speech to confuse people.
He did admit natural immunity was just as good. Then he added an arbitrary possible time constraint. They talk about studies but give no proof for the immunity levels natural vs artificial.

My three takeaways...
1. Natural immunity deserves to be considered when it comes to these mandates.
2. Some people shouldn't gamble to see if they even make it to the "natural immunity" stage...if you're up there in age, diabetic, have high blood pressure, etc...get vaccinated!
3. These government entities have got to do a better job of gaining the trust of the people. Even the slightest bit of bias and/or withholding the truth results in a total loss of credibility.
