A friend of mine says that the oil for the shocks is too low and the wrong weight. He says going to 80wt makes a big difference. Also Traxxas does not fill the shocks correctly. You actually have 3 options here. You can use the stock plastic shocks. You can buy the expensive Traxxas aluminum shocks. Or you can just buy the aluminum shocks bodies and use the parts form your original plastic shocks. It really depends on how much Money you want to spend and how much bling you want your truck to have. I am going to just buy the the aluminum shock bodies and rebuild my shocks. This gives good looking metal shocks but at a lower price. Thoughts?
The oil is def to thin stock. I think that is the way to go. Since u have to take them apart to change the oil anyway. Not much more work to change the bodies while your at it. Traxxas parts are expensive and injora and others are putting parts out as i write this. Type in trx4m upgrades on amazon and u can check out all the cool stuff already out. Much cheaper than oem
@@obrothersrc I am going to do this to my shocks just for the reason you just mentioned. I have also noticed a lot of cheaper parts on eBay for this truck. I wonder how good they are? Sounds like maybe a future TH-cam video talking about this. Thoughts?
The tires on the defender are 60mm and the bronco has 62mm approximately. The bronco does really well. Im waiting on a low gear set for it. Then it will be a way better cralwer than the defender
Couldn’t find any low range gears anywhere online or locally. All I could find was the whole setup with the motor. $40. Great way to make more money off us. These should really just come with low range gear from the factory.
@@obrothersrc im working on an f150 hightrail. rubberbands brass stiffer oil and springs.. goes over anything.. next dual stage foams. oh and my buddy just bought me a trx4m ...nice of him..but it will cost me. lol

The trx4m does not come w foam in the tires. Most aftermarket tires do come w foam though.
