    If you buy the aluminum steering link, from Traxxas, or aftermarket, immediately replace the servo. Adding the metal steering removes all flex, and transfers all the force into the servo gears. The stock servo will not hold up if subjected to any force. I changed the steering link, and the servo stripped within 5 minutes while just running the car on the concrete basement floor.

      I will definitely keep that in mind. Not sure what servo I want to upgrade to yet. Lots of good ones on the market right now. Thanks for watching.

      @@hyperc5249 I replaced it with the Traxxas 2065r but likely will eventually change out to a Reefs Micro 99

      @@aaronbaird9444 I purchased the Traxxas aluminum servo mount, how is that metal geared servo from Traxxas working for you?

      Sounds like the screws were too tight. Been using the stock servo for 2 months. 0 problems.

    Big Block motor with crawl gears is as fast as factory gearing. Might be a good way to keep the factory esc and get what you want 🙂

      @hyperc5249  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely on the list for motors upgrades. Keeping the stock esc keeps the cost down, too. Thanks for watching.

    this cardboard course is bad ass dude haha, such a good way to put it through its paces

      LOL, thanks. It's actually a really tough course. It has cracks and gaps that will hang a rig up. I like my outdoor rock course better. Unfortunately, the weather in the Midwest doesn't care.

    Injora and treal brass parts are a better alternative to the traxxas stuff

      I agree. Check out stages 2 and 3 on the TRX4M rigs. I put both Injora and Treal upgrades on them. Subscribe and like. Thanks for watching.

    Need a replacement servo, the one installed on mine lasted just after few hours of playtime. Any recommendations? Thanks!

      Yes the INJORA 7kg is what I go with. It IS waterproof. The INJORA 11kg is tuff but not waterproof. If you only run dry ground. I would go with for11kg to comp or heavy rig. Budget or waterproof 7kg.

    Any 1.0 rim fits Traxxas tires just use Traxxas inner rings, either from their plastic beadlocks or brass ones

    • @hyperc5249
      @hyperc5249  ปีที่แล้ว

      You would need to buy Traxxas beadlocks and another set of rims to put them together. You would also need longer screws. Not cost effect.

      Use the Traxxas brass rings with the injora rims

    • @hyperc5249
      @hyperc5249  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NocturnalRC I have heard of people doing this. The screws aren't long enough. I already bought some new rims and tires to try out. I really do like the Traxxas MT tires. I hope someone just makes a nice wheel to fit them without having to mix and match part. Did you do this mix on your rig?

    I still can't get past all of the binding in the steering, my wheels jerk and stop rotating when I turn, even after replacing bushings with bearings. I'm done, not wasting any more money on this thing. Oh and all of the oil leaked out of my shocks after only 1 month.

    Traxxas kinda sucks in most categories, build from the ground up with the better aftermarket parts

    • @hyperc5249
      @hyperc5249  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could do that with any RC. I do have a custom-built TRX4M, and it's a beast. You can check that video out on my channel. Thanks for watching.
