Rescue Disposable Fly Trap - Do They Really Work? Product Review

  • I don't know what it is about this year, but the flies have been outrageous where i live. I decided to give Rescue Disposable Fly Traps a try and put them to the test. On the bag is says it can catch up to 20,000 flies. After reviewing this product, i would say that is pretty darn accurate. Watch the video and see for yourself!!

    The bag CLEARLY states to leave it AWAY from any area(s) you are in (cause it does smell) - so, Mark; read the directions before hanging it right on your porch. I have 3 around my yard, and I can not smell them - and I don't have any flies!!.... it totally works.

    • @REALmarktheshark
      @REALmarktheshark  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      CLEARLY, I did not read the entire bag because I was excited to try it out since I had a ton of flies. But yes they do work, and next time I'll by the jar-type sealable ones for easy disposal.

      I thought it said around the source of the flies? They were all over our porch so we though oh, hang this here and they will go to that instead of US. I see that wasn’t correct thinking.

      I'm desperate. I've got 3 or 4 flies in my house that have outsmarted me. I know it said to put it outside.... but I just want these 4 flies gone. They have been torturing me for a week. I can't zap them, lure them, or anything. I will likely regret it, but I hung it up right next to my living room and the open area that attaches to my kitchen sink. It's been five minutes. The flies are not interested. I'm going to wrap a garbage bag liner on the hook and have it surround the fly trap. so if it falls, it falls into the garbage bag. And at clean up time or in 10 minutes if the smell gets bad, I'll take it outside.
      I know.i know. Don't say it.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE these! been using them a few years, put them out beginning of may and leave out till around october. works wonders. depending on where you live, it may get full and you may have to buy another one. these are great. when done simply throw them away. make sure you put them in the trash OUTSIDE. never bring this into the house after you hang it outside. :)

    I love these things. They super work. Here is what I did. Get a Shepherd's Hook that you can stick into the ground to hang it off of, or a tree branch. I used an electrical plastic tie to hang mine. Then place it in the corner of your yard. No smell issue, and it is really cool when you leave it up and the maggots appear. They make them with a plastic bottle container which is more durable, and the exact same opening. I only buy Rescue. The other company makes a similar trap, but the plastic tears too easy...you definitely don't want the bag to break...bottom line, a great fly trap indeed.

    • @REALmarktheshark
      @REALmarktheshark  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally agree, they work VERY well. Next time I will hang away from my porch for sure and I was thinking of trying the bottle type to avoid the contents spilling out. Definitely a great product 👍

    Yes, these things work, but it may be too strong. 2 months into using them and before we had a few flies here and there, but this actually *Attracts* them from miles around, so it may not be the best solution. It's like trying to cure one problem with another.

    Hector has the right idea. You hang the trap out in the yard away from the deck, away from common areas, and you dont have to smell the darn thing. Flies that would normally be around your deck will be dying out in the yard instead because they are so attracted to the bait bag. Problem solved.
