Thank you Nick. We couldn't ask for a higher compliment. The strings are from 1928 and that gives them a uniquely soulful character that just can't be replicated with new strings. The piano sorta settles in itself. Cheers, Troels

We love Kontakt and it has brought us to this point. We are currently looking to expand our Kontakt team and 8Dio will continue to release need products and support Kontakt. Soundpaint is a completely independent technology and one that lives peacefully side by side with Kontakt. Each engine has its advantages.
My biggest library is from 8Dio, because they are fantastic. Thankyou so much for this free Piano Trolls. The new Soundpaint libraries are looking and sounding superb as always. 🎶🎶
Soundpaint has the potential to take market from NI Kontakt. I'm interested to see the legato implementation, eager to hear a Strings Soundpaint instrument. So far I love everything I've heard from this company from the Juno to the guitar and of course the Pianos. Great job!
Natalie, you have such an incredible tone, from your keyboard. Still, I believe it's in your hands. The same if you are playing a concert Grand Piano. You create an atmosphere of sound, that tells a story♪ Interesting to watch you play. I'm purely a wannabe keyboardist. I use them out of interest and my backup band, something to play my guitar too. Currently without my band? I first noticed, about your classical playing style, you are great, especially how you make your chords so rich, and full, with your left hand adding extra notes with your right. I'm learning so much from watching you play. will take me years to develop at your level. Please keep posting your videos. You are amazing! Thank you.
this is SO GOOD. Coming from someone who has about a hundred software pianos including the Kontakt version of this same piano.... This Soundpaint Steinway is so playable, I really really really like it. I ordered a SSD external drive just for soundpaint based on how playable and pretty this is...
jeez natalie you are a BEAST on the piano!! one of the best i've ever seen keep it going. K now I'm further down the video Raashi also killing it - so inspiring to listen to! edit 2: everyone is killing it - great demos really great.
I think the same way. Found a "$100 piano" in 1980. An old upright, with the top "cut down." Piano tuners make patient faces, and make themselves explain that no, it's not worth a whole re-stringing, and that I should just get a better piano. --And I should, and in several ways, I did. But when I sit down at that 1920s piano, with it's rumbling bass, and the higher keys that have tones "too round" for today's blade-sharp ears...I love what comes out! And I play and play, and I write and write, and I sing with it. Yeh. My piano, my old friend. 40 some years now. P.S. Natalie's playing, hands flying like that...life is good.
Creo que es la primera vez que oigo una prueba de instrumento en la que la ejecución me tiene atado desde el principio hasta el final. Cómo no interesarse por este vsti, con esta pedazo de pianista 👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙌

Hi, Hidden Gems was mentioned next to Nicholas Semrad’s beautiful improvisation 25:16 then gave the name Prepared Grand Piano C7 If we already own 8dio Prepared Piano is there a Crossgrade path for this specific Soundpaint library?
Absolutely! Soundpaint will be a mixture of new instruments, new artist collaborations and porting over 8Dio libraries too. Whenever we port over an 8Dio library it will come with a highly affordable crossgrade path to Kontakt. This is important to us, since it is you and the rest of our 8Dio community that have brought us to this point. Will not forget.
Sounds wonderful. But, what IS Soundpaint? I still don't get it. Is it sampling or is it modelling? Or is it some hybrid of both? Or is it simply a wait for contain your sampled products within a storefront/downloader etc - along with fx and twin layers with modulation etc etc? If we own existing products will they be transferred to the new SoundPaint? Could really do with a tech walkthrough
Good questions Andrew and hopefully, all your answers will be answered on soundpaint.com on 10.21.21. Soundpaint is using a new technology, which isn't sampling or modelling in conventional form. But rather a way of creating new content out of existing samples. You can morph any instruments together. You can play a piano with 127 real-time rendered velocity layers - generated from existing ones. We call it Real-Time Samples™. Soundpaint is mostly original products, though there will also be conversions from the 8Dio catalogue when we feel they benefit from the Soundpaint technology. More soon!
Hi Andrew, from an email 8dio sent me: “Soundpaint™ is the world's first analog-style sample engine that real-time renders all instruments. This means that a piano has 127 velocity layers on a normal midi controller and things like velocity bumps are of the past. It is hard to describe Soundpaint. It just has to be felt on the keyboard.”
Soundpaint is not modelling. It is more somewhere between ultra deep-sampling and imperfect modelling. We are dedicated to capturing (im)perfections - where some of the human feel tends to reside.
Natalie Tenenbaum, am I wrong, or you are praising Jesus ??? Cause there is so much gospel music in your playing, an dit's amazing, and it touches my soul!!
Interesting.. so SoundPaint is essentially doing those node based builds I make using FLStudio by combining different sounds & synths to play along when I play the main piece (or like Vangelis orchestral synth if memory serves) I have to look into it, sounds real nice ;)
No and yes. No - because it plays so much more realistic in Soundpaint with 127 discrete dynamic velocity layers and the engine in superior for true realistic performance. Yes - because theoretically its the same sample pool and yet not. Both are free to you can compare side by side. But I wouldn't call them the same (Cheers, Troels).
Do you use only tape microphones for sampling instruments? I just noticed on all your libraries such a soft sound with a lack of high frequencies. It's not bad, but it would be better if there was a choice.
El proceso de registro en mi caso fue desde el DAW y desde la página web de la descarga, en el apartado de "Keys". El DAW, al cargar el plugin, pide la Key en cuestión y listo, solo es copiar y pegar

The only way that i can get this to sound at a good solo volume is to crank the VST patch volume up 12.0db and put note velocities way up at the top of the range. Am i missing something?
