    About SAS (from Wikipedia):
Scandinavian Airlines, more commonly known and styled as SAS, is the flag carrier of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. SAS is an abbreviation of the company's full name, Scandinavian Airlines System or legally Scandinavian Airlines System Denmark-Norway-Sweden. Part of the SAS Group and headquartered at the SAS Frösundavik Office Building in Solna, Sweden, the airline operates 180 aircraft to 90 destinations (as of December 2019). The airline's main hub is at Copenhagen-Kastrup Airport, with connections to 109 destinations around the world. Stockholm Arlanda Airport (with 106 destinations) is the second largest hub, with Oslo Airport, Gardermoen being the third major hub of SAS. Minor hubs also exist at Bergen Airport, Flesland, Göteborg Landvetter Airport, Stavanger Airport, Sola, and Trondheim Airport, Værnes. SAS Cargo is an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Scandinavian Airlines and its main office is at Copenhagen Airport.
    About A321LR (from Wikipedia):
In October 2014, Airbus started marketing a 164-seat, 97 t (214,000 lb) MTOW variant with three auxiliary fuel tanks called the A321neoLR (Long Range) with 100 nmi (190 km; 120 mi) more operational range than a Boeing 757-200 configured with 169 seats, 27% lower trip costs and 24% lower per seat costs; it was scheduled for introduction in the second half of 2018, two years after the A321neo.

Super chuffed for you Daniel! Glad to see your family bond is still so strong despite a whole ocean separating them! I haven’t had the opportunity to fly a narrowbody long haul, but it can’t be that bad. Sure, the available space is noticeably less than a dual-aisle plane, but the way people talk about it, it’s like the widebody is a palace in comparison to a modern narrowbody.

As a half Japanese and Swedish with my fatter's family based in Gothenburg, I know the significance! Though my parents aren't separated, we do go to Gothenburg every summer and every time we all wished that there was a direct flight from Tokyo to Gothenburg. The "pain" of always transiting in Copenhagen (even though one of my fav airport) is not the same as flying direct somewhere like you said! One day maybe we will see a Tokyo - Gothenburg flight, but I do not have my hopes up as we just finally got a Stockholm - Tokyo flight! Happy for you Dan, keep up the good work and all the best!

Gothenburg's airport reminds me a lot of the pleasant surprise we had when we chose to fly back to US in December directly from Bergen, Norway, rather than from Oslo. Bergen's Flesland Airport had some lovely shops and eateries, a pretty good-sized duty free, and was clean, efficient and crowd-free.

When I was flying Vietnam Airlines the food came out and I was sitting in the last row in business class. It took 4 hours just to dish out the main course, let alone get everything together. It wasn’t a narrow body either it was an A350! I found that madness, and the A321 seems like a small plane so slow service but it still seemed amazing

I think a lot of it is symbolic when you've had two homes on different continents for a large part of your life and traveled between them 4 times a year. That said flying is exhausting enough and a single 8h flight is A LOT better than 8h + the connecting flight itself + the 2-3 hour connection...

I remember when I first moved to USA from Australia, the flight route took about 38 hours door to door. San Francisco to LAX, LAX to Honolulu, Honolulu to Auckland NZ, Auckland to Melbourne, it was brutal. Sometimes an unscheduled stop in Nadi Fiji if Auckland was fogged in, they would pick up fuel from Nadi. On those old United 747, with the communal TV's in the isle, with golf programs.. Ugh. United only recently did SFO to MEL non stop couple of days a week.

Dan, regarding content, does SAS show the Millennium series such as "The girl with the dragon tattoo" or the crime show "Annika Bengtzon"? Those are my favorite Swedish movies and shows. If those were available, all would be forgiven instantly.

I agree about traveling between the two vastly different worlds. I still find it hard to believe that I can sit down in an airplane seat, and then, eight hours later, be on the opposite side of the ocean! What would the Vikings and Christopher Columbus say about that? We fly home to Newark Airport via the SAS Airbus A330 which is still a great airplane despite being older. Honestly, I like the widebodies. However, it would be fun to try the A321 transatlantic.
I’m guessing that was Newark you landed at. That is my favorite New York City airport.

DAN I wish you would have shown us the premium economy on the A321 as its unique. SAS did a great job outfitting their A321 since most have only J and Y classes.

We live in OKC and there are few flights to locations I consider to be final destination worthy.

Thanks for the video, great work. It does show that SAS yet again seems to get it not quite right. How would one feel being allocated one of the double seats if travelling alone? This reminds me of their much hyped first class‘ergonomic’ chair on their dc10/md11. I experienced it where the foot rest was broken resulting in my legs dangling in the air unable to reach the floor, and their business class on the 767 where the flat bed was achieved by adding a piece to the front of the seat making it extremely difficult to get out of the chair.
