It may not be about the garden but the aesthetics of it. A prospective homeowner would look for it to be symmetrical. Your gardening know-how is awesome. Mix that with some design and landscaping techniques in a specific area of the yard, and they may then see it as an artistic addition. 🌳🌻🌷🌾🌹🌲

Gardening is the purest, most rewarding thing a person could do. I was having a hard time as my sister was seriously ill. She was an serious gardener, and that was one of the last things we shared together, even living in different cities, we would video chat so she could see my garden. Now that she has gone on, my garden is a constant reminder of her and her love for the garden. I will continue to garden, as it is my final connection to her and helps me to maintain my sanity.
I sincerely hope you find the perfect buyer who love gardening as much as you do. Many blessings to you and your family.

List the garden as a bonus/feature of the house. Don’t get rid of it, let it stay, the right buyer(s) will purchase the home with the garden.
And if someone who doesn’t garden, it wouldn’t be difficult for the next owners to mow over everything.
But if you have to remove the garden, before closing on the house, maybe send word out to the community the ability to dig up some of the plants. (?)

I have gardened before from my apt patio and the outer perimeter of my apt a few years ago, integrated with various florals and fountain grass w/ garden statues, orbs etc. My complex had a community garden just steps from my door, but I never picked any thing from it. Now originally I was thinking how quick does he want to sell the house🤔?...and my answer would have been allow the garden to completely harvest and till it over, and plant grass seed. But out of all the commentary I've read thus far yours grabbed my attention as a similar concept of mine for obtaining both interest. I had tomatoes, zucchini, bell peppers collard greens all in pots and or trough like containers, integrated w/ various florals and green plants. My neighbors didn't even know I had veggies growing. I think that's an awesome idea, bc I've done it from a much smaller scale...it may take some time, but I'm hoping he finds the right buyer, or perhaps a more open minded realtor...

That's right brother! Dig up that sugar cane and take it with you. Having a garden is so precious and definitely a blessing from above. Yes, I would need a garden in my backyard.

I love the garden that was left to me by the previous owner. I love the tomatoes that I didn’t have to plant.

The last minute is where I could tell...to move forward, every garden is an asset! Even the brand new garden you'll be putting together at your new place! Definitely, do not "get rid of it"! Just sell to the person ready to transform it!

Dont get rid of it! Tell your realtor it stays and he needs to market it differently! In this day and age, there are plenty of folks who would jump at the chance to have have a garden in progress.

Keep your head up. Don’t change for your neighbors or anyone else who sees this as an eye sore. I know I’m a lot older than you are. There will always be negative comments about growing your own food. I’ve been gardening for a very long time and even built - dug out my own pond by myself. No matter how much you reap from your garden or how beautiful it looks, they’ll always be those haters. Do you!

If someone wants to buy a house with such a large garden they may already be thinking of growing food. I would list the garden as a selling feature. Finger crossed a gardener wants to buy it. Much love and blessings from Australia :)

You can add it in the contract that you be able to harvest and then remove the garden. All terms in a contract are negotiable until agreed upon. Wishing you much success selling this home because we know the next one will be epic!
