    Lived in Maryville my whole life. I've been to California, and I seen the trash, and was SHOCKED! This is the difference in Liberal run and Conservative run states. Great video, Sir.

    Came across your channel searching CALEXIT to TN....Good Stuff. I will be retiring from the City of Corona very soon and am relocating to East TN. Currently have a realtor searching for property for me....Looking to be close to Watts Bar Lake.....Rockwood, Spring City, Ten Mile or Kingston area. Born and raised here in CA, but it has nothing left for me to enjoy. Don't worry fine folks of TN....not a CA Lib looking to infest your great state (opposite). Just looking for some place more aligned with my values and way of life....Can't Wait.

    I love the trash commentary! It’s true! Hit the beach here (on Central Coast of CA) this morning and picked up four grocery bags full of trash: discarded masks, diapers, beer bottles, drug baggies, etc... The homeless comment also spot on. There’d be cities of homeless living in that Greenway if it was out here.

    • @Hoagmatthew
      @Hoagmatthew  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      And it's not to say there is no trash, there is, because no matter where you go, you'll have some crappy people....but there is a strong care for where you live mentality.

      Elections have consequences, unlike California, Tennessee's politics are currently dominated by the Republican Party. Republicans currently hold the state's U.S. Senate seats, 7 out of 9 Congressional seats, 73 out of 99 state house seats, and 27 out of 33 state senate seats

    Great video! I’m SoCal born and raised and been in Downtown Riverside for the past 4 years now. We’ve also lived in Corona, Norco and Lake Elsinore. In fact as a kid I went to Jr. High in Corona and H.S. in Elsinore. My wife and I are looking at moving to Maryville be the summer of 22. My company has a facility in Knoxville and I thought Maryville looked the perfect place. Funny I’ve seen a few of your other vids and didn’t realize that this is where you were until this video. Keep up the great information because it gets me more and more pumped to get back there and out of the dirty craziness in this state.

    Oh I loved this so much! What a great little town! And the park wasn’t packed with people everywhere? And like you said, no trash no homeless. My niece in Mena Arkansas says they don’t have homeless because people take care of each other. Among other things that isn’t in CA. I so appreciate your daily vlogs. you make it all look so simple, but I know a lot goes into some of the cool shots that you put in and the editing! Thank you😊

    Welcome to Maryville! A few things, that great amphitheatre we built for the Foothills Fall Festival which ended a few years ago. Really cool festival in October. Not sure what the city will do with it now... Also, take a look at the greenway maps it connects all the way to alcoa. Last I checked it was over 20 miles! It does get sort of sketchy with homeless areas but the Maryville side is usually ok. Nice job with the downtown tour!

    • @Hoagmatthew
      @Hoagmatthew  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      20 miles! Holy cow, I need to check more of it out then. I hope they find a way to use that amphitheater because it would be a great place for a festival (minus covid haha)

    When and if you get to check out Oak Ridge for the history and just all around beauty of the area you have to go and eat at Big Ed's Pizza in Jackson Square. Half the city was built on the side of a ridge and the other in the valley. Probably the youngest city of size in Tennessee. It didn't exist until the 1940's. There are so many places to see it will take years to see them all and that's just the eastern part of the state.

    The big building on the green way where Blount County eats fair happened sometimes plays movies and you can go there to have fun with challenges they do as well. I won the chicken dance contest and got a prize when they played Jurassic Park. I don't know if they still do that though I haven't been in a while. A fun activity though that you can do is Geo cashing it may not be as popular as it was a while back but I remember having fun with my siblings while doing it, there are a lot in Maryville.

    Great video! My husband, son and I have been considering a move to TN (after he retires). We love TN & have been considering Maryville. It is very pretty town, has a low crime level, is close to the Mnts, and seems to be 'just the right size'. I have 2 questions: why are the home prices high? and, what brought you to Maryville? Just curious. We hope your feet are feeling better lol ! Thanks for the tour :)

      Wife had family in the area already so that is how we found ourselves here and the home prices have been all over the board, lower in the winter it seems, but with the current state of affairs, I only see them rising as more people start to leave other states

    We sort of made it over to your neck of the woods today. Drove from Nashville to Knoxville to check it out. Really loved University of TN. Nice campus. Spent some time downtown around Gay street. Sort of reminded me of Santa Barbara. Knoxville really seemed like a nice city. I would imagine most people in Maryville work in Knoxville. Is that correct?
    What source do you use for your music?

      UT is gorgeous, I have never been a huge brick fan but seeing a school like that with history to it, really something. I would agree that Knoxville is a big source of employment for the areas lying around it. I just switched from Epidemic Sound to Artlist....loving it!
