You make the most out of life. I'm glad i got the chance to meet a kind soul like you. Still learning about a place i have lived all my life from you. THANKS
Always loved Jonesboro, even growing up when all the other down towns were dying because of malls Jonesboro always kept its charm. Glad you showed the jewel that it is and always has been.
Enjoyed you’re video, looks like a great place to visit, I have family in Johnson City, I will definitely have to go to jonesboro when I go back to visit them. Thanks for sharing, love keeping up with you and you’re family, always inspiring to see great people doing awesome things and just enjoying life. Thanks for being You😊
Thank you again for another good video and I've said this in the past that your videos were a big part of helping us make that final decision to move out here. My youngest son, wife and I drove out in summer of 2021 but only got to Nashville and then my wife and I flew out to knoxville in May of 2022 to look around and met a great realtor we didn't find the perfect home but the realtor kept looking and found most of what we were looking for. Bought the house and as we were pulling up at end of street was an old cemetery from 1796 (wife wasn't to thrilled). I love history and from all around knoxville we are in some very rich history. Thank you again HOAG for another great video
Amazing video! Also, thank you so much for the REAL truth! It is so very refreshing to see and hear. You get it! May GOD continue to bless, protect and guide you and your family, always!
Waa tog ah, also, ‘liz BETH ton. I moved to a mountain overlooking Watauga Lake a year ago. I still have problems pronouncing Elizabethton correctly with the BETH part being stressed instead of the LIZ. 🤷🏻♀️
Crazy to think how history repeats itself, luckily our healthcare has come a long way since the 1873. Nice video and great footage of one of my favorite towns here in Tennessee. Buffalo Mountain is also one of my favorite hiking spots in Johnson City. It’s a nice thing you didn’t do the noggin because your HeyDudes would have got wet. Since you already acknowledged it, the pronunciation for Watauga is wuh-tah-guh [wətɔɡə] Elizabethton is also pronounced Uh-liz-zah-beth-ten [ɪlɪzəbθtɪn].
Grew up in Johnson City and often visited Jonesborough (then Jonesboro). You did murder the pronunciations of Watauga and Elizabethton, but that's okay. Nice video.
Always enjoy your videos. Missed Babs but I appreciate how you both focus on family and work. Beautiful area of Tennessee. Might be my retirement destination some day.
Welcome to the area. Both my denton and my mom's jones bloodlines families have lived in northeast Tennessee since the late 1770's. My Denton's settled all around South holston lake and over by etsu campus off cherokee road. My jones first settled around bristol/ blountville tn areas before finally settling over bu jonesborough in the community of fairview. My mom went to high school in sulphur springs. My dad went to high school down in the Lamar community off cherokee road.
And about dinner time, stroll into Big Dan’s Barbecue to enjoy some of the best smoked meat around, or Dino’s for a plate of lasagna or spaghetti and those marvelous meatballs and sauce!
Thanks for the tour, pal. That's the part of East Tennessee I am kind of focusing on for my house. So if I end up in Jonesborough, you know who's to blame. 😂
Back up on Buffalo mountain behind church camp you can go ride motor bikes and 4 wheelers on trails. You can see them if you look on bing maps. My dad grew up.off of cherokee road about 2.miles south of cherokee elementary school.
We even had a civil war battle here in Rheatown. It was called The battle of Pugh's hill and also was called The Rheatown races. That is about less than a 1/4 mile away from my house

My favorite part about this video is how well the music was integrated with your b roll. Could watch/ listen all evening to relax. Beautiful!

Ok. That totally scared me! Great recovery.
Actually Rheatown is the oldest town in Tennessee. It just didn't stay incorporated. Rheatown is 8 years older
What do you expect from someone who isn't from Tennessee
@@annjames1837 you would be suprised how many who are born and raised wouldnt know either.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and I live in Jonesborough, TN this is hilarious that I’m just running across this vid!
Going to the Jonesborough craft show tomorrow. Our first time there since moving to Tennessee.
Beautiful place I'm hoping to visit there as we are looking to move from up North to the beautiful state of Tennessee

Jonesborough drew us to Northeast Tennessee. We ended up in Gray.
We moved to Johnson City a few months ago.

You are really close to where i live in elizabethton
In 1969 I attended kindergarten in that church not far from courthouse heading back to hwy 11E in jonesborough.
My jones on my mom's side have been in northeast Tennessee since the 1770's.
You could have gone over to Erwin or Hampton area by Watauga lake and hiked on the AT.

I didn't know that! I've lived around here all my life and never knew that. How interesting. Now, I'm going to research it. Thanks.
@@carrielassiter8455 it's called quaker knob now. After the battle a family of quakers bought the land and that's why it's called quaker knob now.
@@countryboyexplorer2411 thanks for the info! I’ll drive out there.
@@carrielassiter8455 you're very welcome
@@carrielassiter8455 I have a video of the church and cemetery on my channel
Yeah we better grab our history when it's still available we better worship It Like We Worship the Lord
They made a movie about a Tennessee town called "Jonestown". Wonder if it's one and the same?
Wah-taw-gah... But good tries!
We love our Jonesboro! Thank you for this great video showing all the great spots plus the history!
