- Today the 8th gen Honda Civic Si gets a brand new mod. This mod is something that I have never installed on one of my cars before. I have always wanted to install a racing steering wheel and quick release, but I have never installed one for a reason that I will discuss in today's video.

bro I have been binge watching your episodes, I've been going through somethings the last few months with family and all that but watching how you bounced back after losing the hatch it made me feel a lot better. Hey John the Si videos are very entertaining. Didn't know I would be so glued to a steering wheel video but here I am. I like hearing your input on the different parts. Interior mods are always forbidden for me too because I don't want to ruin the driving experience. Great choice on the wheel 👍

The quick release and steering wheel is a much needed mod, it’s functional and added layer of security. I have the 2.5 nrg quick release with a personal wheel. I like that your wheel is 320mm, more sporty feeling than mine which is a 330mm diameter.
A heavy weighted shift knob and a bride seat would be sick 🙌
Yes! I love the stock Si seats tho haha. If I could find a reclining aftermarket seat that is super comfy and I can mount lower I might do it.

I have a suede sparco in my DA, if u drive it with gloves u won't get your oils from your skin onto the wheel and it will last a long time. Even if u do it half of the time. It still will last longer than if u never do.
Congrats on the partnership. I will be honest though, I do t really like running aftermarket steering wheels without an airbag on a daily car. I just wouldn't feel comfortable

I think it's worth it to save up a little bit more and go for WorksBell parts I understand you were given them as part of the sponsorship so big ups on that! Suede steering wheels can stay fresh for a long time if you clean them often :) grats on the sick parts.

You should get the adapter for the stock cruise control relocate plate thing for a after market wheel

If you're actually concerned with keeping the steering wheel in good shape, Get a color lock leather brush and when you're done driving the car take 20 seconds and brush the wheel. It will go a long way with keeping the fibers up and healthy. If you let the oils from your hands sit on that wheels it won't take long for it to look matted down and dirty.

Can't put enough emphasis on buying driving gloves when you use a alcantara/suede wheel mine has entirely been ruined no matter how many times I've tried to clean it. It soaks up all your oils from your and and will make the wheel sticky

Nope. That is actually the part that is required. Quick release is optional.

I like the stock wheel better only because I can use it to see what my AFR's are at and I can also set what rpm I want launch controll to be set at inside the car without having to go into my computer to open up hondata to change it.
