This week we went over to one of our favorite local record stores, Hymies Vintage Records, to pay tribute to one of the greatest rock n roll legends of all time. Tom Petty has inspired me in countless ways and the best way I know how to honor the music he left behind for us is to live in it and share it with friends. So I hope you enjoy our take on "Wildflowers," one of his most beautiful songs.

Ya know....I saw TP live way back in 80... his band was as tight as a steel drum. All on the one...incredible dynamics. He and the Heartbreakers taught me a very valuable lesson: pay close attention to the little things when you practice and perform. In doing this they showed respect to their audience, and to me. I see this same trait in you guys: solid, great dynamics and an accomplished sound. You show us ALL respect, R....not just Mr. Petty. Keep doing whatcha doing.

It's just that it is so fragile and fleeting in this human condition. Rust never sleeps. Cultivate this love as much as you (all of you) can. So simple. Love one another. Just a total shame that his beauty was still doing so great and living a beautiful life while still having to deal with her illness. How she could do it and not let hardly anyone have a clue what was going on takes nothing but courage and strength that I don't think I have. I guess that's just one more of many things that Reina had that I don't. May God bless her forever.

Now that you mention "stops", I am reminded of Leonard Cohan's Hallelujah, of which there are many recordings, but the original one has a one beat stop in it, which took my breath away the first time I heard it. Cohen, the instrumentalists, the beautiful backing singers stop dead for one beat, absolutely silent, damned impressive.

I saw Reina del Cid when they came down to Ottawa a month ago or so and was blown away by their performance. They sang this song and my brother and i absolutely loved it. Got to talk to Toni and Reina and they were so cool. Cant wait to see you guys next time you pass by!!

I was lucky enough to work backstage curtain security for him at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida. This was at least 7 years ago. He and his band were absolutely amazing. I'll never forget it
